Hi all,
Been here for a while, and using CM / Lineage for about 8 months on a number of devices (OnePlus 3, 3T, Moto-G, Nexus 6P). All are working great, baring the OnePlus 3T, on the latest lineage build randomly the screen will go black, then white LED comes on, unresponsive... have to do a forced reboot with power switch held down for 40 seconds. I think I've narrowed this down to GPS being the issue, with it turned off I don't seem to get this problem. I would put this in the lineage thread in the developer section but can't post there until I hit 10 posts so any help greatly appreciate.
Cheers
Phil
For a $1000 phone Samsung should be much better at their updates and more caring for their premium customers!!
On Android pie, things were stuttering, the fingerprint sensor takes 3 seconds until the screen wakes up, everything felt slow and battery life really sucked! Right now I'm on Oreo 8.1 and everything is just so smooth and efficient, why can't android pie be the same and Samsung just do something right for once??!!
This is the last time I'm buying a Samsung phone! And yes I've been using every single android pie custom ROM here on XDA and they all have the same problems....
I am not experiencing your issues after the update. Everything is smooth and clean. I did a Fresh factory wipe though.
Have you tried wiping the Cache Partition in Recovery Mode? If that doesn't work then back up your data and perform a hard factory reset. That should resolve your issue.
Will try, but I got the phone like 2 weeks ago and I think I have already done that but will try again and see thanks!

Clean flash it via ODIN and with full wipe (CSC and not home_csc - will delete ALL of your data (except SD card), so be careful!). Then give it a 1-2 weeks to settle down, it's not the smoothest thing in the world, but defo it's not that bad and it's better than oreo.

Will be trying that out tonight and will report back in 10 days ??
I've NEVER done a full wipe and fresh install except when installing a rom or beta version outside of Samsungs own processes. I've never had any problems either and it saves a whole load of pain doing a full install. I DO always do a cache partition wipe in the boot menu. Helps clean things up.
Just my tip.
Wiping cache (or everything if that doesn't work) is the first thing to try when facing issues like this. Especially if nobody else seems to be having similar problems. This is hardly a reason to pull a "I'm never shopping here again!".

For a moment I thought I was on the official Samsung Members beta app forum.

So after erasing everything, flashing stock and waiting for more than 10 days as you guys said so the system can optimise I still say 9.0 update is disappointing after switching from the mate 9.... The fingerprint is as fast now yes, battery life is disappointing, when I get a message notification the time it takes to open the app is just embarrassing for a phone like this. I don't know maybe I'll try treble ROMs or I'll sell the phone. Thanks for all the help
Bluetooth issues, no DSD playback, choppy, SBC codecs!!
I contacted support and after troubleshooting I made them submit a Bug Report.
UHQA Ultra High Quality Audio is broken, meaning playback of DSD 64 and 128 is broken and choppy.
We wipe clean it, tried even to push a patch and nada!!
What is more dumb is that UHQ audio for analog headphones work, yet when in bluetooth is broken.
Also Pro mode for video recording was removed.
They love to remove stuff when a new Note is coming up.
Sadly Samsung is becoming more and more like Apple.
On the phone the girl even tried to sell me the Galaxy Buds, and I said if you are sending them free, sure, but No thanks.
Broken 24 bit music playback sucks when you have a library of Flac music.
Contact support and push them to file a Bug report, to keep some pressure on.
My phone is working great on the latest update. Nothing is slow and my battery life is very good. I also appreciate a lot of the new features and changes.

UHQ audio doesn't work with Bluetooth, it's by design because it's not how Bluetooth works.
When using Bluetooth you don't use the built-in DAC/amp of your phone.
Numerical audio data are sent to your Bluetooth device that do the numeric to analogic coversion and the amp part. So it's your Bluetooth device that must supports UHQ, but your phone must supports a Bluetooth version with enough bandwidth to do so.
On PIE I no longer have many camera options I found useful. Make volume key lens zoom. Add second floating shutter release button. Good Lock quick star sucks re editing and options. I detest the new icons and I hate when the mess with my interface ie. They moved or removed many things I have muscle memory for. Should I blame Google or Samsung?
@up, i have similar opinion. So a week ago I back to Oreo. Again i have everything well.
Note 9 oreo is the perfect phone!

Have you tried checking the Camera Settings Menu? I was able to chance the settings of the volume buttons to either zoom or take a picture in there.

I don't have any option for that in my camera settings. Maybe I should clear partition cache?

"Press volume key to" and "Floating Shutter location" are under "Shooting methods" in the camera settings.
Doesn't matter who you blame. They'll continue to make $$ regardless.

I just saw that right before I checked this thread lol. I love how they bury settings in sub menus after updates.
I'm having a lot of trouble initiating the back button gesture by swiping from the left to right. I come from a OnePlus 7 Pro and its nav gestures were nearly flawless. The one on this one feels forced and awkward. Any suggestions on how to get this feature to work better?
I recently gave up and went back to buttons. Not for the reasons you mentioned but because third-party launchers+gestures do not work well. I went back to buttons and have been happy ever since.
May not be an ideal solution for you but you could give buttons a try as it would technically resolve your issues.
But if not, there is a sensitivity setting for the back gesture, maybe try playing around with that?

Hi guys. Recently i buy a second hand ROG phone 2.
From what you see in the first video Display glitches very bad everywhere, menu, youtube, chrome ect.
Methods i already tried.
1. Roll back to android 9, display Glitches return when i restart the phone, even in boot logo.
2. Return to last official asus firmware but the gliches returned.
3. I recorder the screen with the in build screen recorder and the gliches don't appear, what can that mean?
There is a hardware issue or software?
What suggestions you recommend me?
Thanks in advance
