Help with G870A please? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 5

I just got an old G870A for $20. I've been trying to get Lineage on it for a few hours, and I started reading about it here on XDA. Do I understand correctly that the bootloader on this G870A (from AT&T) is locked, and cannot be unlocked right now? Help. Thanks.

Were you able to get this figured out? I am trying to do the same. According to this link: https://lineageosroms.com/klteactivexx/ the G870A is supported, but I keep getting and error with Heimdall "secure check failed : recovery" or FAIL (Auth) with Odin.

[Solved]Does anyone have the engineering bootloader for 5.0.2 for 920T?

Edit: I got it now. A 920T. Just having fun trying to get it into recovery now..
Ok, I currently have the 920F Eng BL file.. however that doesnt seem to work for my 920T Galaxy S6. So I am "assuming" I need a 920T 5.0.2 Eng BL file. I am TRYING to keep Knox basically for now.

Reflashing phone after an OTA update occurred...

Trying to fix my daughter's phone, that I had previously flashed before using the XT1049_GHOST_REPW_5.1_LPA23.12-39-R-15_cid6_CFC.xml.zip file. Unfortunately it is now bricked and sitting at LPA23.12-39-R-19, and it fails the flash with the "security version downgraded" and "preflash validation failed" messages.
Is there (A) any way to get the full file for the updated R-19, or (B) get the 35MB OTA update and splice it into the R-15 update to make it work?

Not following you exactly... So. U flashed xt1049 ghost.... Then took an ota then bricked?
I have this exact problem. Basically we need the latest stock firmware from Republic Wireless which is from 2016, and has the build LPA23.12-39-R-19. Apparently once you upgrade, flashing doesn't work for older versions because the verification doesn't check out. If anyone could help out and post the SBF for this that would be greatly appreciated

"secure check fail = bootloader" when flashing metropcs firmware on sprint galaxy s6

"secure check fail = bootloader" when flashing metropcs firmware on sprint galaxy s6
I have a Galaxy S6 that was on Sprint. I had Spring unlock it. I am trying to get it flashed to work on T-Mobile or MetroPCS.
I have downloaded Odin 3.12.5 and the latest factory Android 7.0 firmware for T-Mobile G920T and the variable for MetroPCS G920T1 .
I load Odin and click AP and load the firmware. I put my phone in download mode. It shows FRP off and Secure download enabled. I then hit start in Odin. Checksum passes but Odin fails after seconds. When I look at the phone's screen it shows the error "secure check fail = bootloader" .
I have read and read and watched videos, but cannot get past this error unless I flash a Sprint firmware to the phone.
What is weird is I had no problem whatsoever doing the same T-Mobile firmware flash to my Sprint Galaxy S7.
I prefer to flash it with T-Mobile's G920T1 version. But at this point I just want to get it flashed to be used on the T-Mobile network.
Is there a way to fix this error or can I flash the firmware in recovery on the S6? I read something about it but wanted some more confirmation.
Thanks in Advance
Tom

How to go to unlocked firmware on Binary Version 5, after sim unlock

I purchased a sim unlock service to get my Note 8 off the Sprint network. However, every time I restart the phone it tells me to insert the service provider original UICC and it constantly tries to setup my service then fails as I do not have a Sprint card in it.
Just to clarify, my ATT card does but I want to install either unlocked firmware or ATT firmware to get the best signal. However, I cannot find either with the binary 5. (U5)
If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
I have already looked at the Carrier switching guide, and it does not have the correct files for the binary 5 version.

T-719Y Downgrade from Nougat to Marshmallow

I just bought a T-719Y off eBay, and it comes with Nougat installed out of the box despite the description saying it is Marshmallow.
I have tried simply downgrading the device with Odin using a .md5 for my specific device. However, the Tab shows an error saying
[aboot]Fused 3 > Binary 1

I assume this is because the bootloader for Nougat is newer than Marshmallow.
Is there anyway to downgrade the bootloader itself? Or am I mistaken about this assumption? Searches on downgrading this device seem to imply that flashing the file with ODIN is enough. Is an unlocked bootloader necessary for a downgrade?
Thanks for the help!
