Question [Request] Official Lineage OS for Redmi Note 10 Pro - Redmi Note 10 Pro

Hey developers. Can anyone help to develop an official lineage os build for redmi note 10 pro? Would appreciate it a lot at as the current unofficial build lacks stability.

The unofficial builds are 100% stable for me, personally I haven't had any problems with the ROM so far. But yeah, I hope we will get official builds soon, so we can at least get regular security patches.

stock camera crashes, altho its impossible that i use stock cam. Had some crashes during setup, which made me doubt the stability of the rom.

Is releasing OOS 4.1 improve Lineage 14.1 camera experience?

It's should be simple question for most of users but I want to be sure.
At now camera on Lineage OS is little buggy. Today Oneplus release Oxygen OS 4.1 based on android 7.1.1 so kernel sources is coming too.
Lineage based ROM's should get camera big improvement soon? Do I think right ?
Thank for the answers!
Well, I don't think it will get really much better.. (It is already really good since the open beta 7.1.1 Blobs are used..)
I'd rather love some more stability. Hope it will improve, when OOS 4.1 Sources get released.

Kernel sources released.
I ain't sure if that gonna help here, because the base is slighly different..,
If 1+ would release the sources for camera libs that will allow to fix the camera problems on LOS and AOSP

Using the 7.1.1 blobs from openbeta3 was a real milestone regarding camera. The progression from ob3 to 4.1.0 is notnsuch a big deal (the differences in the files are marginal).

If you need a stable daily driver, I can only advise you to stay on Android 10 until 11 gets out of alpha phase.
Slowly features will come to 11, of which you for now will probably miss one or another in comparison to your Android 10 ROM also.
Switching to a ROM in such an early stage isn't something I would generally advise against.
If you are willing to accept bugs and can live with a minimum of features, installing and reporting about alpha / beta builds will immensely help development.
But you said you need a stable daily driver, so, yey.

Well, in the first phase of a new android release all ROMs
- Are basically the same (pure aosp with different branding)
- Have no additional features to pure aosp
- Will have many issues to sort out in general and for the respective device (like bugs, fast draining, random reboots, inconsistencies across versions).
- Might conflict or not be fully compatible with third party software (gapps, Magisk, any random app).
Any of these points might be the case still, so I wouldn't advise anyone expecting a stable daily driver to use android 11 for now.
None of these points has to apply though, as time for development passes.
If you want to urgently try out an 11 ROM and you don't heavily depend on your phone's functionality, why not do it? I also did it (and moved back to 10).
The question anyone should ask him- or herself though is: Which advantages do you expect from it?
That is, other than a higher version number...

Thank you for all those informations. I was hoping Android 11 would bring more functionality, stability and smoothness, but it seems to me rather the opposite. There is also no more security patch for Android 10 looks like. Everyone is working on Android 11.

What I'm saying isn't android 11 specific, but counts for every instance in which a new android release comes out.
It has been the same with android 6 and 7, then with 7 and 8 and so on.
Android 11 might bring functionality, stability and smoothness. But it is too early in development to expect all of this just yet, is all I'm saying.

Question Best android 13 rom?

Hey guys I’m thinking of flashing a android 13 custom Rom long term. Which one is the best ?
Android 13?, Do you mean Miui 13?, if A13 then i dont think many have installed them as theres only a couple available, very early days as yet, if you search through questions im sure someone else asked about A13 roms and testing them.
Try Project Elixir 3.0 or EvoX 7.1

Up to now crDroid is running under Android 12 and not yet under Android 13.
first, you have to decide between aosp or miui based ROMs
EvoX 7.1 is pretty cool
For me I prefer Project Elixir
It is more stable than Evox and better battery life

I agree with You but PE 3.0 is still a beta version.
If you are missing features the best you can do is to inform the developer.

Thank You for this information.
Never understand why people are so keen to flash a A13 rom that's not anywhere stable at the moment as much as Devs say it is stable. Is it just for the sake of having the lastest Android version but dealing with bugs everyday.
cDroid 12.1
PixelOs 12.1
CherishOs 12.1
Everything else will give you endless headaches and 3 hours of reconfiguring your phone after you realise that a A13 build is a POS right now.

not true, i am currently using cherishOS 4.0.5 android 13 now few days. Didn't found any major bug, rom running smooth as pixelOS a12. Normal stuff like, playing normal games, voice calling, social media and watching videos no issues even the battery backup is also good. Devs put lot of efforts for us. A13 cherishOS is a great rom to be used as daily driver. thanks i hope this helps for someone.

It's relative, devs test roms on us for their learning and we sometimes like what we get. What I've observed over 7 years of using customs roms is that devs are less interested in bringing a ROM development to real stability, what has become important is "let's be first" hence this rush to port roms to the newest android version. Except for cDroid every ROM for RN10 Pro is a pixel port there's no real bespoke elements. I guess unlimited photo storage is the thing people want here. That's my take.

i do not know about others. I am also using custom roms and phone software customization for more than 11 years. On who else other then a user devs will test there rom for early testing of bugs or any other issue, (apple also releases several beta version to user's to test there ios (6-7 beta) and then release the final build to public). not all roms are stable that i agree. there are specific roms like for gaming for battery for overall stability. It's user choice to test roms or listen to other user's review and then install rom according to there needs. many mobile companies just launch phone and then do not provide proper software update support, like micromax, xiaomi, redmi, samsung(before) etc.. ASOP custom rom extends the life of a phone(like poco f1, redmi k20 pro, redmi note 5 pro and many many others). Whatever the reason is but in the end user's are getting more without any hard work and yes devs will also think about themselves too and they deserves it. Devs have to meet the user's demand so i think yeah they rush to port to latest android version and also devs have a year to stable the rom for us before another android version google releases. not even google's own android 13 is bug free, it has many many bugs which user's face in there costly pixel devices. so yeah these bugs will also come to custom roms.

LineageOS 20 Official available?

Hi.
LineageOS 20 is now officially released, but I can't find it for Sony Xperia XZ1c.
Does anyone know where it can be downloaded?
Thanks
There isn't official Los 20 for the XZ1c, but you have the unofficial version by derfelot. It works the same as the official versions for other devices, the only differences being the lack of OTA updates and the time between updates varies. I think we're getting an update to the Los20 rom soon, since I see commits submitted in github.
Hi,
I've installed the previous unofficial version on my XZ1c, and am looking forward to the mentionned unofficial LOS20 update before I install it (I didn't see it was already available at the time I installed 19 in december). I have a question, not too silly I hope :
I've read on LineageOS website that if some developers have a running and reliable LOS version developed for a device that is not yet officially supported, they can submit their version so that then the version becomes "official" and one can get it from LOS website. Is it planned with this unofficial LOS version ? why / why not ?
Thanks
I think It's not official because the devs don't want to involve/don't have the time to become official maintainers, instead releasing updates less frequently. Basically It's a responsibility. That's what I think and personally I'm fine with the unofficial builds, these devs do a lot already.
So in theory, If someone has the skills/time to maintain this device officially, It could become one without an issue.
Let me ask another question (since this is new post):
Which of available ROMs suits You all best and why?
I Was on Havoc 4, then 5, Lineage 17, now I'm back to Havoc 3.11 but this one gets random freezes and battery heats up. Only issue I have with new releases is lack of Android Auto support.

Hi, I don't have an answer to your question since so far I've tested only lineage 19. But I'd like to ask you why you chose to go back to Havoc 3.11 even though it heats and freezes ? (Why not a more recent ?)
And what are the differences between Havoc and LOS in everyday use, what did you personnally notice / prefer ?

Ok, indeed it would add more work/responsibility to the developpers.

Hi,
I wanted to try and test Android Auto mostly to be honest.
As per differences - Havoc gives You way more options to customize whole phone (appearance), have more features (gestures, status bar, dock etc., you might even forget half of the settings after finishing configuring it), Lineage on the other hand I believe consumes less battery, appears to be quicker, is neat.
But I've tried either Havoc and Lineage on Android 12 and both works smooth. Testing Lineage 20 currently and can't say any bad word. But I'm kind of lucky with custom ROMs, never had any major issues, all worked fine always
