HTC Sync- Missing from hero..

Is there anyway we can push the HTC sync back to one of the hero builds , such as the Drizzy builds... ????

this should be in Q&A section ... really will this ever stop happening??
but to answer your question, just grab it from a rom that has it and adb push it .. should work

can u point me in the right direction for the rom needed... ?
would it be in one of the early jacheroski roms ?

I don't think it was ever in JacHero. It's in Haykuro6.0, that's a Rogers ROM though, so I don't know if it's the same or not. Btw, what is HTC sync?
If you dont have adb and want to copy something you can use the terminal:
su
cp sdcard/somerandomfile.apk /new/location
so for example
su
cp /sdcard/htcsync.apk /system/sd/app_s
I highly doubt that's the correct location, just an example of how to use the cp command to copy stuff.

You will be better off PMing JAC for location and instructions since he is the one who took it out of the build. The reason I'm saying this is that he might of take out some libraries and/or drivers that are necessary for it as well. Have him reply in this thread so everyone can see it.

one problem with that , jac seems to have his PMS disabled ...

In that case, PM Drizzy Drake Rogers or TwistedUmbrella, they also develop Hero ROMs and should be able to help you ;-)

I'd like to know, too.

So I did some research and found out that a beta version of KingxKx Hero Rom includes HTC_Sync. (Found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563294 / http://www.4shared.com/file/134955673/b3aa02e6/KiNgxKxROM_Beta1_signed.html)
I flashed it and it works flawlessly (syncing contacts and calendar). It was removed in subsequent versions though.
I found a set of .apk files (Found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=553996 / http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=208015&d=1248333223) which, when installed on newer Hero roms, adds Sync functionality again, but there's a flaw:
The PC software recognizes the device not as a Hero, but as a Magic. HTC Sync for Magic only syncs contacts.
This is either because:
a) the files stem from a HTC Magic and therefore only add "Magic" functionality or
b) the rom maker somehow changed the roms "appearence" to look like a HTC Magic to the PC Software.
To be sure I need to extract the pcsii.apk and sync.apk from either a stock Hero rom or the Beta from above.
Can somebode help me out with this? I have no idea how to do that.

I tried simply taking the pcsii.apk from the zip files of releases which had the Outlook Sync still intact, but the Hero Rom (Kingklick 1.8) wouldn't let me install it.
What are .odex files, do I need them, and if yes, how do I install them to custom Roms?
I see that Outlook Sync support is not very popular with the rom community, hence it's among the first things removed from roms, but I'd really like to use it.
There must be some people around that know a fair bit about rom optimization and would be able to do this in a minute or two.
Rom makers don't answer to PMs and I just don't know enough about this.
So if anyone sees this who has done something similar before, please help!

Mobile Shell is, as its name says, a shell Basically, it gives you a completely new and highly customizable UI.
Of course you can go back samsung UI mobile shell can be uninstalled like every other app, and the device will just go back to how it was before

no problem not much to describe though
- download spb mobile shell cab from spb homepage (it's a trial and will work for 2 weeks, after which you will have to register it if you wish to keep using it)
- copy the cab file to your device
- run it
- done, it's installed
to uninstall it, just go to remove applications and remove it, that's all
Installing / uninstalling it you will not lose any of your existing applications

just need a little info....

i'm sorry guys to waste your time but i understand how to flash roms or themes from the recovery but the only thing that i need to learn and sorry for the dumb question again..!! how can use the adb command if anyone could help with that..???

Not to be a thread police guy, but I think this post should be placed in Hero CDMA Q&A section...

I am also having a problem figuring out the ADB Commands. I have searched and read alot of posts but still cannt get my head around it.
I open my command prompt in vista and I have c:\users\myname> then I type sdk\tools\adb and I get not recognized as a command . So what are some us doing wrong?
I am rooted

LG System Dump

Can someone either give me the latest system dump from the LG Revo, or tell me how to do it from my own phone please ?

Also what version of the Android SDK do i need, i am assuming the latest, but i dont kno which that is, can someone link me to the one that i need. And I found out that I need ADB to do a system dump, and that it comes with teh SDK, is this correct ?
this is the one I downloaded - http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html - and I downloaded the LGE Real 3D for LG Phones, The SDK Platform, Samples for SDK and Google APIs by Google Inc., tools for Android 2.3.3. But I can't seem to find ADB. ANd when i was installing these tools, in the manager log that shows whats installing and its progress, it says "Stopping ADB server Failed (Code-1)" so i am assuming it tried to install ADB but didnt seem to work for some reason.

There is a stock zv7 rom posted. It is a stock system dump, zipped into a flashable file.

1 Copy and paste the adb binary to a new folder
2 CD to the folder
3 Type "adb pull /system"
4 Delete the adb binary from the folder
5 There is your system pull
A simple Google search would have found that answer for you a long time ago lol. Not trying to be a prick at all, and I am definitely not a search Nazi, but it has been bumped several times now. I usually don't answer simple questions that have simple answers with a little searching, hence the reason I didn't answer this until now.

Its all good i get what your saying and i did run a search. I found out how to do it. But my main question was about running ADB. The instructions I found said i could do it thru ADB which comes with the Android SDK which I already had bur couldn't figure out how to run ADB and the searches I did on it weren't to helpful.
I always search before posting.

Run it through the cmd if you're on windows. Once you do that do cd (change directory) C:\(where ever your adb.exe file is)

On windows browse to the folder adb is is hold shift right click open command prompt here...or open command prompt cd then a space then to your folder adb is in.

Well my problem is, I don't know how to get, install ADB or if it already is installed. I downloaded a version of the Android SDK that I think is the latest version and I was told ADB comes with the SDK. can someone link me to where I can get ADB

On second thought, for what you're attempting, I think you should get LGPNST. I believe that's where it comes from.

Help catlog apps are not working on stock jelly bean

I have tried some apps from store but the logs are not displaying just loading.
I have tried granting permissions through terminal emulator but still same.
Adb is also failed.

I bet you are using cocore, why don't you read first Cocafe post in his thread? Or at least press Ctrl+F and search 'logcat'
