So my names Calbond69 and I don't know much about techy stuff but am very interested in learning about programing and technology and hopefully one day would like to know enough to help use it in my life.

As the holidays are over, they barely have any work left for me at my current job and I must start looking for another job to make some money for college.
I've made a CV before, but it wasn't exactly a great one and I've gained lots of new experiences since then.
I have some experience in application development, I've messed with servers, Wordpress, PHPbb boards, Linux and I'm learning C++, but I don't know if it's a good idea to include all of this in a CV for a college job (probably in some store or something). That's the tricky part: you don't need to be a rocket scientist to operate a cash register, but on the other hand, it's a considerable experience.
I'm pretty sure you guys have useful advice to share and I'd love to hear your thoughts.
that was quite useful knowledge
will help me in future
Alright everyone, I'm going to direct you away from my post count along the left, and ask you to just listen (read) what I have to say.
I'm a college student that enjoys technology. Ever since I was the 8th grade, I've ways been interested in technology. I'm not talking about "ooooh thats pretty. OH and THAT'S SHINEY!", I'm talking about genuine interest in technology and how it affects our lives. I'm talking about an interest in how it can help us accomplish things that would be much more difficult otherwise.
I've come to a point in my life where I can say that I have skills that can take this interest to the next level. I'm not talking about turning this into a business or a billion dollar idea. I want to take this interest and share it with others.
At this point, I would like to start a podcast that talks about new technologies (whether that be mobile, desktop, or otherwise) amongst people who also have similar ideas. I'm also interesting in creating (in conjunction with the podcast), in a way, a community blog. Anybody can write for it, meaning that people will come and go as they please. It is community fueled and driven, which is what XDA is all about.
I have the idea, and I'm wondering if there are others who share this interest...
If you've made it to this point...
If you think this is a great idea, let me know in a comment. If you think this is idiotic, let me know.
If you want in...you guessed it, leave it in a comment below, or send me a message. This whole thing is based off community input, from an amazing community, XDA...
Hi everyone my name is Andrew and i currently live in Colombia, im a 4th year Medical Student and i love windows phone and all of their features.
As you might think i cant spend much time learning about the development process on windows phone, but i have time, to think about how to change and improve windows phone.
Most of you guys, Developers, state that you have the tools to develop, but sometimes you run out of ideas. With that said, i think that a great idea, with a great developer, makes a really great app. So, i have just 2 ideas, for now, to develop what i think will be one of the greatest apps in windows phone this year, you might trust me or not, but i can ensure you that the concept will catch you in my net.
I know that im a new user, and that i havent posted alot here, but trust me i really want to work, of course i want windows phone to become the greatest mobile OS out there and also, being real, i need some money. Then of course we will split the benefits with the developer, and i know that the idea is worth somehow less than the development itself. I'm a clever guy and i know how the world works.
So if you are a Serious Developer, commited, and willing to form a team that will change the way our windows phone works and feels, please leave a comment, or send me an INBOX.
Thank you all for your attention,
Andrew
This is a complicated question, with an even more complicated answer, and I'm really looking for feedback from EXPERT devs only. I personally would love to learn coding. But anytime I watch some youtube video on learning python or this or that, I hit a road block whenever I follow their instructions verbatim, yet I get an error or something significantly different from what I should be seeing according to the video, and I go back and check and I've done everything exactly as they did and it just won't work! I have no one to turn to to ask for guidance or to explain to me what is happening or what I'm doing wrong. It's really upsetting at times to try it and just feel helpless. Everything I know about computers is self taught. I'm 30, built my own computer when I was 17 and been upgrading it slowly ever since(3 mobo/cpu/ram and 5 gpu upgrades, and just learned how to flash the BIOS on my gpu to unlock higher power limits), been rooting and flashing my phones since Gingerbread, was always in advanced science and math courses, so I'm confident I can learn it, but I feel stuck without guidance. I cannot afford formal schooling, especially during this COVID fiasco. I'm currently unemployed and I'm worried about not being able to find work again soon, and thought this would be the perfect time to learn code with all this free time on my hands, and maybe make a career out of it since the software dev job field is booming. So in short, my question is what course of action, advice, or anything of that sort would you suggest regarding lack of council? To those who self taught especially, any pointers for me? I feel like once I can understand why or how the languages function the way they do, I could trial and error it from there, but I just don't know where to go to learn the science behind the code if you know what I mean. Anything would help. I look forward to hearing from yall!
Thanks!
P.S. Sorry if this is in the wrong channel. Lemme know if and where I need to post if so.
Just paying respects to the site and everyone who make it possible for the rest of us clueless fool's I'm actually a professional mechanic at A custom shop here in Texas and I have a natural curiosity to know how things work and make em better and I've recently added android as my new victim I don't know much so far but I have learned alot of basics so far to the point of I don't need new phns every week so if I can some how help with testing or anything please feel free to ask I'd be happy to help and learn more thanks
Welcome to XDA!
Oh, that's nice. I was like 11 or 12 when I learnt about android and windows.
I guess tinkering with it kinda brought me to this point.
We always welcome people who want to learn!
