WM5: Hardware Keyboard Patch

sry guys if there is already a topic about this .. i didn't find it ...
i upgraded my german MDAIII to wm5 today .. all works perfect (what I need) ... but the hardware keyboard is english ... i didn't find any topic about this and the old cab file for changeing that doesn't work.
any solutions?

Hallo zusammen,
leider muss ich in deutsch schreiben, da mein englisch nicht so toll ist.
Mein Problem:
Muss leide mein X1i zum Service bringen da es keine Verbindungen mehr zu lässt. Habe hier schon das Original T-Mobile om runter geladen und Installiert.
Jetzt müsste ich noch den Bootloader in den Urzustand zurück bringen. Weiss jemand wie das geht?

Keien Datenverbindung ... schreib mich mal an ich hatte das schonmal beschrieben ....pm an mich dann schreib ich dir msn/icq die lösuung
ps msn oder icq nummer in die pm

Sorry guys, just wrote him to PM me and not nag the board users, he was just anoyed cause there are not realy much german X1 Owners with much knowledge in GERMAN forums afaik, so he went here, i also only visit this board .. ppc world (a german forum) links a lot of stuff from here and discuss it in german but the ones with knowledge seldom leave their beloved xda dev forum

try german -> no answer
whats than? have he realy go make some englishlessions for one question?
i think you are right, if the thread do more than 3 times in other language.
but a question in other language is better than in english with much wrong answers because nobody understand whats realy the problem is.
and this is not an english forum, its an english speaking forum!!!!

I meant English speaking forum by saying English forum. I thought that was understood by default. Apparently some wise dude like you have to mark my words.
And if you want to talk about English we can talk about how you suck at building sentences.
And I have a hard time thinking that there are no person in a German forum being able to answer his problem. You don't see me asking questions in Swedish despite I've asked a Swedish person here questions.

I have the super nice Abyzou ROM on my Click, but without HTC IME, how to get it? I have seen other threads, tried but with no luck (can't install, FC's e.g.).

work HTC_IME from Abyzou ROM.

another option is getting HTC_ime and Clicker.apk from fyodor's update zip in his thread. That was working great for me with abyzou rom ;]

what about other languages?! Does s.o. have a file which provides all european languages?

they are supported but u can't choose them in the "touch input" settings u have 2 choose your language in the "language & keyboard" settings worked fine 4 me

I want to use the phone in english, but with another spell correction language.
Mit dem original HTC ROM ging das noch, man konnte die Sprache da eigens einstellen. Jetzt bin ich gezwungen alles auf Dt. zu stellen?!

first of all, this is an English forum so please write in English (although German is my native language ) uhm I think u have 2 wait till someone brings out another version of this in which the keyboard language doesn't depend on the tattoo's language or u get another keyboard from the market betterkeyboard isn't bad

Thanks, I will try that. Unfortunately only the option to select the languages is missing, although supported...

You can try to do it manually....like:

echo en > /data/property/persist.sys.language
adb reboot
...replacing "en" with the one you wish to use...

Great, I was looking for such an command. But it changes the whole phone language. Is there a command to just change the HTC IME keyboard language?

There isn't such command but you could do as i wrote here:

German Language Droid 3

Hey Guys,
I finally got my Droid 3 from the US. I have searched a bit around but didnt find an answer. Is it possible to change the system language from english to german ?
I only got spanish and english as option. Maybe via root and custom rom ?

Yes, everything works.
Let the provider sent you the internetconfiguration via sms.
After that it should work. Manually setting the Apn settings didnt work for me at the start too.

Lass Dir mal die Interneteinstellungen von Eplus als "Sms" zusenden.
Danach gehts. Das manuelle Eintragen der Einstellungen allein hat bei mir am Anfang auch nicht funktioniert.

It IS possible to change the language of all third party apps but not for the stock android and Motorola apps.
Download morelocale2 form the market and add a new language de_DE. Then restart and you will see all 3rd-party apps in german language (if supported).
Changing the region to de_DE in the build.prop didn't work for me.

Also if someone likes to have a look at this thread. This guy translated the strings.xml of the settings.apk to polish language.
Maybe someone has 100 days of free time to do that with all stock apps and translate them to german?
