General Fastboot vs TWRP - Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

Hey folks
Am i the only one in here wating for a new TWRP version to get the new miui13 release?
While im waiting i think the miui13 must me most possible stable... Other ones out there and why.
Better be safe and secure having my stable eu rom...
Big thx to the xiaomi eu team, for all your work btw

There is no twrp working with A12, so it's a fastboot install only for now on weekly stock / EU or stable miui13 when it comes.

Exactly what i wrote yes
Precisely, but it will come, but noone knows when.
But not everyone want something which not is rock solid stable yet (miui13) or atleast as stable as miui 12.5.20 is.

Try to flash Miui Dev-Rom but without success

...I am trying to flash the latest version of the MI9 Miui Dev-ROM but get always the massage
" You're allow to flash the newest dev version publishedby Miui forum from stable version only"
currently I am on V10.2.12.0 on my global Mi9 (bootloader locked)
Any idea how to change to the Dev-Rom
Thx for your support!
If I'm not wrong, you have to unlock the bootloader first and then flash it.
Thx for your reply, but ROMs released from Xiaomi don't require an unlocked Bootloader..... Normally!

Nope, going from stable to dev needs unlocked one......at least with my recent experiences.

Sure?....
Taken from Xiaomi official side:
Note: You can upgrade your phone by Local Update method without unlocking your phone. The method suits for the situations listed below for sure: Update to Global Stable ROM from Global Stable ROM, Update to Global Beta ROM from Global Beta ROM, Update to Global Beta ROM from Global Stable ROM and vice versa. If you encounter the issue that the reboot page keep loading for a long time after flashing, you can choose to wipe all data via entering Recovery Mode. You can turn off your device and then hold both Volume+ button and Power button at the same time to enter Recovery Mode.
I think the problem ist an other one.
You have not the real Global Rom - its the GLobal EEA Version - some like the Russian or Indian Version of MIUI.
This time the also release e EEA Version for the European Mi9's.
It could be that there never will be a Devloper Rom for Mi 9. So it musst be called MI9 EEA Global beta.
I think the real Global Version will be released later for markets like Malaysia or Hong Kong.
Dont like that, cause im also effectet, but i think thats it These time.

Make sense, as there is an "EEA section" with a stable ROM on the MIUI page and a "global section" for the Dev-ROM...means I need to wait until I can unlock my Bootloader to switch!?

Yes but be careful, if you Flash via unlocked Bootloader you can't relock. if you do, you get softbricked.
Also with unlocked Bootloader you cant use GPay without Magisk and with Magisk ist also a bit tricky These days.
And i also think without Global EEA Rom you will los Widevine L1, but i cant confirm this, but i think so.
So better you wait to see if there will come a EEA Global Beta or you better stay with the Stable one.

Thx for this advice.....most likely I am moving to Xiaomi.eu anyway, and right after changing the Rom I will never re-lock BL.
Cheers!!!

Question Changing the ROM from stable to weekly

Hi Everybody,
would you please explain what is the difference between stable ROM version and weekly version, i am using MI 11 ultra, and i have the stable version 12.5.7 and i want to try the weekly ROM version as the actual version have problems.
if possible to change the versions between stable and weekly, i would like to know the way how to do it?
thank you all !
Data wipe and flash it but not worth it imo
Too many bugs in the weekly unless you're really impatient to try some new latest feature I wouldn't bother

I'm on the weekly and have had nothing to stop me using my phone as a daily. Yes, sometimes there may be an app with the wrong text or a function that goes missing but that's all. Everything works as it should. Unless you have used the weekly for a couple of phones, you will never know how few bugs there are. It's not like the releases are alpha versions, they've been well tested before getting to a beta release, so don't be put off by people who have never tried it because they have heard something.
Unfortunately yes, you will need to format data after first flash but just a dalvik wipe after each update after just like stable.
The reason you must format data is that the two different branches, stable and weekly ( and between stock Chinese, global or EEA versions) may have different partition differences between them, so if you don't format data, you may not be able to boot, hence getting a boot loop. Just make sure you have a good data back up using Xiaomi cloud or such like.

Question 12.5.20.0.RKDEUX

Hello good people,
was trying to install new version 12.5.20.0.RKDEUX manually
but it will not install doesn't pass 0%
thanks
I installed 12.5.20 manually as well. No problems, but I updated from 12.5.16, not from 12.5.19. It's strange, becouse 12.5.20 was published earlier than 12.5.19. There was no 12.5.19 when I installed 12.5.20.
can i install Xiaomi 11T Pro Global on my m11 t pro
Just casually looking through post's on this forum I gathered that you've changed release branches from STABLE to BETA by installing 12.5.19 as it is a EU BETA release number. It won't let you update as it's not really an update to the software you currently have on your device. And it means nothing that it says stable in your device info panel. That's just how Xiaomi does things. You can flash .20 through fastboot but you'll most likely have to format data to not end up in a boot loop. You'll be back to STABLE branch but with the phone basically reset to stock. At least that was the case with other MIUI devices I've done this with.
Always read carefully what and how to flash when you decide to do so, to not end up bricking your device.

No they don't but it's a logical conclusion. As antykat said the next update from 12.5.16 in stable branch of EEA ROM is 12.5.20 not 12.5.19. There's a thread by yshalsager on this forum with MIUI Updates Tracker. You can see the update history for 11t pro there and 12.5.19 is marked as beta release.
Hello. I bought mine two weeks ago and came with EEA 12.5.19 out of the box. Downloaded 12.5.20 recovery rom and updated without any problem.

How To Guide Fastboot version of miui 14 EEA, Global and older Miui 13.

Disclaimer :
I am not responsible for bricked devices. Please think twice if you want to follow this guide .
Hello,
I made a Fastboot version of miui 13 Global,EEA stable, a12 miui 12 global and miui 13 China stable as peoples reported issues with installation of android 12 miui versions on TWRP .
New- Miui 14 EEA, Global and Indonesia added. For the meantime, I won't make a Miui 14 china versions.
Download link for fastboot versions of the firmwares-
https://sourceforge.net/projects/fastboot-miui12-13-cn-global/files/
This link contains all the firmwares including stable, beta Chinese firmwares and stable Global, EEA, Indonesia.
There are two ways to install it. For clean install, you need to run "windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.bat", then write Y and press enter to start flashing .Your phone will boot after it will finish flashing the firmware. It will wipe your internal storage.
For upgrade, run "windows_fastboot_update_rom.bat" . Your phone will boot after it will finish flashing the firmware.

Finally you have made that a lot of people asking to dargonswim, make a fastboot version. But i think it's too late now, Xiaomi.eu even purpose lastest MIUI 13 in all languages, it's useless to install this "old" SK version 12.5.
However i'm waiting your "maybe" fastboot MIUI 13 version from Global MIX for sure when Global MIUI 13 will be available
very good. thanks a lot

It took me quite a while to figure it out how to repack the super.img for this device. I will defently make a fastboot of Miui 13 after it will get released as the apps lags issue with a12 chinese version is not present on this global a12.
If someone find a newer version of global miui 12 a12 or global miui 13 beta, please post a link in the comment .

This quite a long process and you need a linux os. I do not have a written guide. I do not think many people will want to do it themselves so I won't write a guide. I maybe do it if many people want it .If you need any specific firmware I will try to make and upload it to this thread. Also if you need chinese miui 13 beta or A12 miui 12 beta, dargonswim made fastboot roms and he update them really fast .
Thank you for the answer.

I do not see a option to disable it on setting/dispaly/font setting. I on miui 13 CN stable .
Edit- It available on miui eu and they disable it by default because of this bug .The option of "system wide variable font " is on but it not really work because of this bug. I could not find a way to disable it on CN rom so I will stay on miui eu firmware . Thanks you so much for the fix .

The only way to make it smooth as butter is to disable miui optimization in developer settings.. all those lags would be gone.. any mentioned laggs would definitely go away..

As I remeber some a12 miui 12 CN have this setting, maybe some miui 13 beta but on miui 13 stable this setting is missing. In the meantime Xiaomi.eu ROM miui 13 stable is close to perfection for me, much better in terms of smothness of the ui over a11 miui 12 and almost bug free. The only bug that I still see is that on youtube, when you scroll fast, it get stuck for a second after it load new videos .On youtube vanced it does not occur so I really do not care .

Question Anyone hasn't received the MIUI 13 update?

I think it has been a while since the update started to roll out right? I don't know if it's normal that I am still not receiving the MIUI 13 update ,any ideas?

All MIUI 13 (EEA/GLOBAL) are not Stable / Public.
If you want now, you can install manually, but make a backup before, if update is not upgraded successful you can lose all your data.
