[Q] Games Iphone4 vs SGS

Ok, so we agree that SGS is a most powerfull device than iphone4, so why all the good games are only available to apple's device and not to owers? Today was released Ultimate MK3 for Iphone (great games with great pq) but android keeps getting nothing.... Another great games for the i4: NOVA 2; Gameloft: Ultimate Spider-Man: Total Mayhem; Shadow Guardian; Infinity Blade; etc
Theres more demand on Iphone os as a whole, plus loads of people download paid apps from 4shared ect and dont buy them (cheapskates) because its an .apk and android doesnt need to be jailbroken to install files outside of the market. And it's also "credit card" only on the android market unlike having an apple account
Plus Android users are way to cool to play childish games .
Intellectual games OK .

correction: android owners are just computerfreaks or nerds who are more interested in the architecture of android software than in the programs themselves.

When will Google Tv be loved?

This is just a topic open for debate and discussion based on my limited knowledge and consumeristic, impatient, and biased views.
Perhaps like many of you when I heard about Google TV I dropped a load. Holy $&!# I thought. My android phone is rooted and running custom ROMS and doing things the manufacturer and carrier never allowed or implemented. So I went out and bought a NSX46GT1 and havent looked back since. I have never been able to compare my Sony say LG's version or Apple TV but I feel its safe to say that Google TV is the future. Its kind of "gimmicky" right now but Im confident it will only grow because of Androids almost limitless potential. There has been some back and forth at least from big manufacturers about producing a set top box or all in one TV. However at least a handful of kickstarters and smaller companies are putting Google TV and Android on USB sticks or other peripherals. Amazing in my opinion and I cant wait for it to blow up for the simple reason of when I can finally modify and play with as I have been accustomed to with my phone and tablet. As of right now I am disappointed with the growth of development, at no fault to the community itself. Firstly Sony (maybe others) have updated their TV's to remove root exploits. Secondly saturation in the market is very low. The less people and devs are exposed to it the less of community will build around it. Thirdly, and this may be a sticky point, fragmentation. The variety of set top boxes and TV's, ect. can effect development. Now I have side loaded a number of Apps, Launchers, File Browsers, Live Wallpapers, ect. and at least in my case much of it has been removed because it mostly doesn't play well. Again I only have experience with my TV so milage may vary. And also updates; I'm still running 3.2! Thats 2 versions behind. If I had to rethink my purchase then perhaps I would either wait or buy a set top box. When it gomes time to upgrade either your Google TV or TV set, you can do so seperatly with a set top box. Also Sony isn't the best company when it comes to unlocking their devices as has been seen with the PS3. Most of my complaints stem from impatients but that is because I know how great the potential can be. To end, again Im biased, not a developer, an Android Fan Boy, and clinically diagnosed with ADD! So what are your thoughts?

Pre-Introduction Thoughts on Play v. Apple App Store

We've been working on iOS and Android prototypes of a gaming app that will let users enter and play competitively for prizes.
Now we are set to code. So nights and weekends we will be coding for a few months.
Apple App Store (AAS) has more high rollers that spend more. But Apple takes too long to certify each version. I expect that we will be releasing a new version every month for at least 6 or 8 months. Someone explained how to test iOS prerleases outside of the AAS but I don't understand. If we take the iOS route I'll use UTEST for betas. That means $.
I don't see any SEO advantages to AAS. And likewise no advantage to AAS for app discovery, in fact Play's search capability is more robust.
Play looks a better choice but we would need to limit our coverage to Android 4.0 and above. So we will lose part of the Android advantage of the large number of devices. There are about 1 Billion Android devices now but less than half are 4.0 and higher. So the number of iOS and Android 4+ devices out there are the same and iOS users spend about 3 - 4X more than Android users.
Android Studio Console is better and has better metrics. I can tell if someone uninstalls the app which is good feedback, especially if we decide to pay for downlaods.
I'd like to internationalize the app asap but I'm not sure which AAP or Play is better for international downloads. A few languages would avail us to most of the European and South American markets.
I wish I knew how many users are registered with credit cards or other forms of payment on the the AAP vs. Apple claims about 500 million registrations on AAS and Google I think is about the same.
The big bet is on Android's continued growth shipping another 500 million throughout the year with apple shiping less than 250 million. If Apple comes out with a $400 phone though it could change all this.
Leaning towards Play and a first Android App because of the quick access to Google Play without a long certification process.and if I trust what I've been told it is easier to get a beta into users hands to get feedback before putting an updated release on Play.
Please feel free to jump in and share your experiences with both.

Should i buy a Lumia 730?

Should i enter the world of windows?
Without knowing more about what you look for in a smartphone, and what services you already use, it's going to be really hard to make a useful argument.
I mean, practically everybody here uses WP, and many of us have been using it since WP7, and many used WinMo before that. So in general, we're obviously biased in favor of WP. But there's probably all kinds of related things there. For example, we probably haven't dropped a bunch of money on Android or iOS apps, so we don't have that reason to use a different platform. We probably don't rely too heavily on Google services; although some of them work quite well on WP the integration is obviously better on Android. On the other hand, we probably do use OneDrive, OneNote and so on, where the integration is a lot better on WP. We're also more likely to have an Xbox Music pass (what used to be called a Zune Pass), and WP is the only phone OS that can make use of that.
If you care a lot about Xbox Live gaming, then WP is a good choice; it's the only phone platform I know of with XBL support, and there are many games on WP that give XBL achievements and Gamerscore. If you like hacking, it has less malware than Android but is a little more open than iOS, although due to the relatively few people hacking on it progress tends to be slower than on iOS. On the other hand, with relatively few people hacking on it, you can be a big fish in a small pond if you can come up with new hacks or make existing ones work better. Cortana appears to be more powerful (and with better voice recognition) than Siri, and more reliably useful than Google's equivalent. It's easy to get early OS updates if you don't feel like waiting for carriers that drag their feet. WP runs better on low-end phones than Android does, and you can get better battery life out of the same hardware.
Seriously, without more idea of what you're looking for, it's really not going to be easy to tell you. The things that I like about the platform may be completely unrelated to the things you would like.
thanks for you reply
my primary needs in a smartphone are.
1) Camera (i like clicking pictures)
2) Social Networking
3) Gaming
I've used my brothers lumia 520 and found it great. The camera itself was great though its of 5MP.
On the other hand i've also used an android phone and i liked it too playin Clash of Clans all the time
I've not owned a smartphone till now.
And aware of not entering the flagship devices.
I just need a premium midrange phone .
For windows i've opt for L730
and for android the new Moto G 2nd gen.
So what should i do now...
The lumia got that fabula design ahead when compared to moto g
the camera too is great on lumia.
But the moto g has got the things to entertain you when you get bored.
Exploring android is awesome indeed.
You've got CoC when you need to waste time, torrent to download movies.
Dead Trigger to kill zombies
So what should i do?
I like both the device
and my needs are partially separated in bothe the device.
But i just need one to go with.
Give me your help

You can actually torrent on wp, but if ou really like gaming on your cellphone you're better off with an android, just make sure the specs are high enough!

Windows phones are absolutely fantastic on my opinion and any other OS just doesn't feel right, there are a lot of games on wp but android simply has more.
But it's up to you to decide

Play Store woes - I'm surprised by how worse it got

I've been developing for Android for years now since the early "eclipse" day and my beloved HTC G1.
Originally Android was truely opened with AOSP and the Play Store (which didn't even have this name yet) was almost as open as the naive old Android API.
With the years Google also tightened their restrictions and "reviewing" like Apple.
My last app is a plain metronome. It's open-source, it's free, it uses no complex APIs or obtrusive permissions.
The major thing for me was for it to be cross-platform as possible so you can "walk" with your sounds anywhere.
I do it in my spare time and finally got enough fixes to push a build.
Usually I first push to app stores before providing the other binaries as I really like the commits of a build to be on par as much as possible.
So... I've pushed a build to Apple's AppStore and the Play Store.
Within less than 24hrs it was approved by Apple.
On Google Play... this is the 4th day I'm waiting.
While from a plain developer point of view, all those restrictions aren't my cup of tea.
I must say that those days I don't find Google's approach any better than Apple's. I'd might say overall, while dashboards are nicer, the process itself became much less appealing for releasing a legitimate Android app on the "major" Google Play Store. (I do know there are alternatives and I do offer plain .apk)
Is anyone else feel the experience is worse (even if you've had a longstanding developer account)?
I have my Play developer account since over 10 years, published some small apps and one bigger thing.
A small app I submitted about 2 months ago was approved after 1 to 2 days without a problem. Updates were also approved fast.
However, an app I submitted this week was rejected after 3 days because of a ludicrous policy issue. After resubmitting, in the Play console "Release overview" page it is shown "In review" again, but the dashboard says "Ready to send for review".
Tried to contact Google because of that this weekend, but the "Call" option is not available on weekends, and for "Chat" it always says "Try again later, all agents are busy" even though the hours of operation are shown as 24/7.
Here people are complaining review times of over 14 days recently:
https://www.reddit.com/r/androiddev/comments/sb7hxb
We can only hope Google will learn and it gets better again soon.
my release eventually took 14days to be reviewed and published.
Basic policy updates took 10-12 days to be approved.
Just wanted to report that my recent experience with Google Play is very good. Updates are consistently approved in about 1/2 - 1 hours.
