Howdy! - Introductions

Joined after using some threads here to turn my kindle fire 8 (2017) into a useful little tablet. Maybe one day I'll be able to contribute something cool to the forums

Lack of development for the KFHD8.9

After looking through the KFHD7 forums im really surprised there aren't more roms been developed for the 8.9 version.
Its a brilliant device and deserves a well produced ROM that works well.
How come there is little to no level of development happening at anytime.
Could the 7 versions of roms potentially work on the 8.9??

No. It's almost a completely different device. (E.g., Gs3 and HTC one)

This is development not Q & A next time refer questions to the section intended for questions.

but its a question about the lack of development (in the development section)
First of all, all the questions go to Q&A section even if its dev related, just to make this clear, all the forum is dev related, except from off-topic section.
This is a forum for developers, not a place to make your phone cool, not facebook. If there are no roms available why don't you try to make one?
Instaid you are making threads to complain about it?! This is not helping development in any way...

The index points 2013 Kindle Fire HD (KFSOWI/soho) owners to the Amazon 7" Kindle Fire HD, 8.9" Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Fire 2 2012-2014 forums. The guides in those forums are not for the 2013 Kindle Fire HD. Because this was never clear, many people bricked their KFSOWIs. I understand the index is for XDA, but all info for rooting KFSOWI is at KFSOWI modding on G+.
Also, the device specs and descriptions for 3rd gen 2013 KFHD are incorrect. There's no camera on the KFSOWI. Amazon's product page here links to the 2012 model (idiots!), so is also linked in your post.
Amazon's correct product page is here (It's misleading though, including HDX models with camera and other features...)

Newbie

Hello,
I'm new to the amazon fire tablet. I was sent here to use the amazon toolbox program. After looking around, there appears that there is a lot of useful information here, so I registered to educate myself.
Thank you in advance for this wonderful site!
Tony

Hi Chris and welcome aboard!

Moin

Hello all,
I'm Erik from Germany.
I needed an actual OS for my old Samsung Galaxy S7.
This smartphone is for my son and I din't want him to use a Smartphon with a much too old Android 8 OS.
I updated the samrtphone with a new Android 12 OS. Works fine. My son is happy.
Thanks to the developers!
See u later in the chats.

Good luck, and have fun!
