Hi!
I'm using CM 7.1.
Are the modems you can download here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158783
the same of the corrisponding stock roms (JVU modem --> JVU rom) ?
I'm too noob to post there.... (and considering my question probably this is the right thing!)
Can you use stock modems in CM 7?
In particular I'd like to flash the modem of my italian carrier H3G (Tre) branded stock rom. Can i do that? The rom has code NEJVE.
Would it be better to flash my carrier modem? Since It was modified according to my carrier network, it should work better than the "stock" CM 7 modem.
Am I right?
Thank you!
may be you can : u have to install this zip file in CWM v5+ recovery, but always keep system backup.
download your carrier modem. then extract the modem.bin file from there. then put the modem.bin file into the root of the zipped folder using winrar, and remember do not unzip the file. hope u know how to put the file with winrar. i m also uploading 2 picture for your help.

wow nice i didn't know how to create a radio package for the recovery!
Can i also flash it with odin or is it mandatory to do it from the recovery?
are CM 7 modem the same as stock rom modem?
jvk cm 7 is the same as stock jvk modem and the same for the other versions?
Or are cm 7 modem modified some how?
same as stock, just in a different zip.¨
I have some modems here perka.zapto.org
I managed to make an update modem package and flash it, with the modem NEJV5 of H3g (italy).
Now let see if it works better!
Hello, I'm sorry .. I've searched a lot before opening this thread but I didn't find what I need.
First: I downloaded a new stock firmware for my region (Egypt - April 2012) but I couldn't flash it because I'm using Ubuntu Linux. Stock needs Odin, and Odin needs ****ty Windows!
Second: No way to flash stock firmware directly from Linux for our SGM. Heimdall isn't compatible, Running Odin via Wine/VM can brick my phone because the USB Drivers in Linux different from the others in Windows, I can't buy Odin for Mobile (and I don't know if it support our device), CWM recovery cannot flash stock ROMs (but it can flash stock-based modded ROMs).
Finally: I discovered that I can use the same way of modding (Stock-Based ROMs) to Make it CWM Flashable so I can use it without passing with windows. The problem that I can't find a Guide to put my foot in the start of the way!
All Modding Guides are for Custom ROMs (or For other Models Stock ROMs).
Should I use a Kitchen Like dsixda to ease the process? Should I replace the Kernel? Is there some files must be changed??
Regards,
Anass Ahmed.

Hi. First of all u must extract a stock rom from system.rfs and keep boot.img .... Next, u should use dsixda kitchen to make a flashable zip: (i think you are able to configure it)
And just select working folder and build your rom i think u don't need to edit kernel... But, sorry for question: why u don't use a custom rom?? Or try minimod x that is a stock rom very fast?? Just my opinion hope i helped you... Give me news about it!!
Inviato dal mio GT-S5570 con Tapatalk 2
I said that I want to use it for my region (Egypt). Many of Stock-Based ROMs here don't include Arabic language and if included it have wrong letter connecting and some other issues. So I decided to flash stock for my region then modify it to suite my needs and simulate stock based ROMs here.
Thank you for your help!

Don't you have a friend who has a Windows PC? If I were you, I would ask a friend to let me use his/her Windows PC for 15 mins to flash the latest egypt stock rom rather than messing the whole package, deodexing it and what not..
with the help of make ISO extract system.rfs then copy it the content to a working directory copy boot.img and create a flashable.zip

OK, I can mount System.rfs by "mount" command. then I will copy it to "stock_based" directory, and start dsixda kitchen to Deodex it, Root it, install busybox and so on.
Where do I copy boot.img to? How to make it flashable.zip? via dsixda kitchen?
Sorry for my bad English .. and Thanks for your helping.

note:- you cannot flash any stock rom over cm7, miui rom it will not boot
download emanon rom extract it to somewhere delete the system folder of emanon rom and copy there the system folder of the stock rom. replace the boot.img of emanon rom with the stock one
go to meta-inf and delete all the three cert files if available and flash with cwm recovery
if you want to create update package manually go to this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633025

I know, I will use MoRe 1.4.
this information Exactly what I need, and this topic is very important for me. Why didn't you add it to your signature?!
Why do I delete cert files, will the kitchen add them or what?
Another Question: do I need to deodex Stock or MoRe before beginning the process? and why don't you write a tutorial for customising Stock ROMs and adding some cool stuff (toggles, transparency, battery icons and so on)??
Thank you very much.

cert files contains the md5sum of the package which have been changed by doing all this that's why we are deleting it kitchen will not install cert files they will be installed while signing packages
remember more rom is related with nothing
odex apks are great due to ram consumption, but deodex apks can be installed just be copying (odexed needs to be flashed) choice is yours
I didn't written any tut about adding stuff to rom because I myself don't how to add

To keep the overview, here the place where you can find all the stock ICS builds made by me.
Flashable CWM versions available (no full wipe required) as well es NVFlash versions (full wipe only).
The CWM versions can only be installed by those already running new unlocked bootloader + CWM.
Essential update November 16:
New NVFlash versions (v28E & v28G) are available.
New features:
fixed bootloader, so Smartflash will work again for everyone
CMW Recovery 6, no more too big font in CWM, also no more /cache errors
fixing sizes of recovery partition and boot partition
NO full wipe required!! New NVFlash version can backup your /data partition and restore later (Internal SD will still be wiped!)
Noob-secure flashing process. Telling the user exactly what to do and asks for confirmation before doing anything.
Stock LG ICS content for internal SD card can be flashed as well (user is asked) - gives some extra music, apps, videos
No more deodexed version. I think odexed works best.
Google Now (Online-version) preinstalled, still about 25 MB free space in /system partition
additional widgets from SU660 preinstalled
the new installation scripts are available for both Windows and Linux (tested by me extensively)
Windows APX driver included (for Linux not needed)
some minor things. A custom kernel by me will come as soon as we get the final kernel sources!
New CWM ZIPs are available as well! Please be aware that they do not upgrade bootloader (=fix of Smartflash Bug), CWM (from 5 to 6) or fix partition sizes for boot and recovery partition (were too small, could cause problems lateron). Only NVFlash version does that. So you might prefer to, as a one-time-upgrade, use NVFlash version. You can, with the new NVFlash versions, backup and restore your /data partition, so your settings and apps won't be lost. Only Internal SD will still be wiped.
The new ICS builds are available in download folder, in subfolder "Second Generation ROMs (improved, recommended)".

Deodexed version of v28G also includes some more widgets (those from the Addon-packages).
You have to read the installation instructions on NVFlash versions and CWM versions in this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1986097 (installation procedures are explained in first post).

Because of the high compression I chose for the archives! Sometimes compression works more effective, sometimes not.
You can believe me that I ONLY removed demo videos (~26 MB) and the Rom updater app and the LG remote controlling app (both together about 2-5 MB or something).
Thanx a ton for your rom Stefan.... its amazing.... can you brief about the advantages of the new V28G over the older version, is it highly recommended to upgrade to the newer one....??

So far I can tell you it has got a new kernel and many updated apps and binaries. I don't know the exact changes though. But upgrade of course is highly recommended! You can make an upgrade without full wipe from my v28E version.
A millions thanks Stefan, downloading now v28g flasheable zip, you're best.
Can someone confirm if smartflash is working with the new bootloader...?? I tried to flash the new V28G baseband but was unable to get the phone in software upgrade mode....

Smartflash is working again!!!!!
I'm at v28G NVFlash version currently. I just flashed v28G BB with Smartflash.
Can somebody please try if it works for CWM version v28G as well??
If NOT, then you will just have to install the updated recovery image with different CWM. I will soon provide it. I'm not sure yet if the NVFlash bug is related to recovery.img.

The kdz contains multiple images and the baseband. it's not only system image. the kdz contains system.img as well which has the same size.
Might be a silly question, but can anyone tell me, in few words, what the difference is between LGP990_ICS_v28G_Stock_NewBL_Root_CWM_initd_NVFlash.7z
and
LGP990_ICS_v28G_Stock_Root_initd_4CWM-NewBL_NoFullwipe.zip ?
I just want something stock with maximum smoothness, I don't care about flashing new stuff and all that
which is the better ?
-rebuild the phone (install all program and everything) from startup ( nvflash )
-v28e --> cwm --> v28g ?
i wan't a stable, smooth, good working rom without any issue
Are you Angel sent by God for 2x user??

I own an S3 LTE i9305 which is COMPLETELY STOCK with Android version 4.1.2 and I was planning on getting a Custom ROM on it
I have been doing a lot of reading on the different procedures and what all to Install and quite honestly I am getting a bit confused. So I am just gonna jot down the entire procedure of what I have understood. I would really like to have some help from experienced members to let me know if I am going wrong somewhere
1. Rooting: Flashing the CF-AutoRoot file using Odin while the phone is in Download mode<<>> There are 2 files on https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ for my phone, one is for 4.1.1 and the other is for 4.4.4. Not sure which one to go for. Also I have downloaded Odin3_v3.09
2. Flashing CWM: after rooting I will want to flash CWM the file for which is http://download2.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-6.0.4.7-i9305.img using Odin while the phone is in Download mode
3. Flashing ROM: I am sort of interested in this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development-i9305/rom-miui-v6-smooth-faster-ota-t3097018 so I will downloaded the latest ROM file from the given download link and flash it using Odin while the phone is in Download mode
Before performing any of the above I will perform the procedure given here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...warning-guide-backup-restore-imei-nv-t1946915
Also I have checked under Settings>Security>Device admins> There is no KNOX thingy
Also I have question about this GApps, what package should I go for and is it flashed in the same way?
Also how shall I make a backup image of my phone so that I can restore it in its current state if something goes wrong?
Thank you!

Hi,
1. Use the 4.1.1 file. Your bootloader is the older one, the other file is for knox
2. Not sure about that cwm file. It is .img file; AFAIK you need a .tar file. Check this thread for more info and the .tar file HERE
3. When you download the rom file, it is a .zip. You will need to flash this once you reboot into the cwm recovery you installed in step 2, after doing the recommended wipes from the OP of the rom you want. (Recovery mode not download mode)
Gapps - choose a package from HERE You need a 4.4.x package(if you install the rom you mentioned). I like minimal gapps by @jajb, but up to you
You can make a nandroid backup from the cwm recovery, but I would recommend downloading the stock firmware from sammobile.com from your region as a backup
Good idea backing up efs folder btw. I would recommend that to everyone

Right so a couple of minutes ago I have successfully rooted the phone (verified via Root checker) and I have also successfully flashed CWM (verified by entering recovery mode)
So now before I flash my ROM the question I have is. Do I have to transfer the ROM to an SD card then install it Via SDCard? Also how do I flash the GApps? Via SDcard or ODin?
Also technical points aside which ROM do you suggest is lightweight and good for i9305? There really are a lot of ROMs I am having a hard time selecting one

You only need the recovery to flash from now unless you need to install the stock firmware. Just install the .zip files for the rom and gapps to the external sd card if you have one, or to the phone storage(just don't format internal sdcard when you do your wipes)
For the rom you could try Slimkat 4.4.4 It's nice and stable and lightweight(I haven't tried slimsaber in the same thread)
Generally if you want stability, then kitkat or earlier android versions would be what I would recommend. Lollipop builds at the moment still have a few bugs such as gps or mms etc not working properly for some users
And generally the non touchwiz roms are more "lightweight" but the TW roms have some of the features from the stock roms(samsung features).

Thanx for that. Before you made this reply I already flashed the Resurrection Remix ROM along with the Minimal GApp that you mentioned. SO far its running good. Theres slight lags that my eyes are picking up but since I am open to experimenting with my current S3 LTE before I get an Asus Zenfone 2, I dont mind the Beta builds.
After flashing the ROM and Gapps I also ran the Bloatware remover script which worked fine. Installed Google music and Cabinet beta along with Google chrome from Play store. However I miss the search bar that used to be on my homepage for quick googling, any idea how I can get that? I dont see it in the widgets or anywhere else in the phone

Hi, I wanted to change the ROM of my old GT-N7000 as I recently got a Note 4 but I did what I should have never done.
I wanted to install TWRP to get the Spirit ROM. TWRP app downloaded well from the Play Store and I did it!
When I restarted the Note I stayed with the Samsung Galaxy Note screen and since several days I cannot found out anything to install a new Rom.
I searched the Web, found out a few guide saying to install CWM but I don't have any Recovery mode available now.
I still get the connection in Odin when I put the Note in download mode but that's all.
Please, if someone could help and tell me what to do. I'm a homeless and all my money is going into cyber to search for solutions.
I really need one.
Thanks anyway...
Really, nobody can help?

Hi, thanks for your answer.
I just don't have any idea of I could install.
Everything I tried failed or links are too old and things are not available anymore.
I do think I should format or erase everything and reinstall something but what and from where ?
If you can help I would thank you a lot as the phone is unusable since several days now...

In the link you gave me they ask to download a firmware from SamMobile but they are 3 for the French GT-N7000 and my last update was a 4.1.2 working with any provider, even in Spain (I do live in Spain). Secondly, one have to be a premium member to download those firmware.
I think I should be able to install what I need using files I already have but Odin doesn't recognize .zip or .rar files and I don't know what to do. I upgraded the system a few years ago and don't remember how.
I also have no idea if zhat i recently did with TWRP changed partitions size and if it is the case then I have no idea of how to use PIT files.
Also, those guides refer to versions of program not available anymore and sometimes they changed names of buttons...
Have you repartitioned your phone? Those .zip files have .md5.tar files and odin recognise then in the AP section. I think that the 1-st .zip maybe is firmware. For download firmwares only you need to register for free to download firmwares with slow download speed (aproximately hour or two for downloading a single firmware file).

No I didn't change size of partitions...
I finally tested a XEU-N7000XXLT9-20130611091825 (Jelly Bean Euro) I had (don't know where it comes from). Unziped and opened in Odin with the AP button.
It installed this new ROM and the phone started but is not rooted anymore. I have now a 4.1.2 which doesn't seem to be one a got before,
At least I can start the phone...
What surprise me is to see the TWRP app on the phone screen and also SuperSU. SuperSU say the phone is not rooted.
Now, I suppose I have to forget everything about TWRP and must think about CWM no ?
If I want to test and then, install different ROM I sometimes see that TWRP is the one needed to do the job...
What do you think I should do now ?
Root the device using CWM or something different ?
You can try everything you want in the Android development section but this time follow the steps as they are and use the kernels and recoveries that are suitable for the deserved rom. Probably your Note is with custom 4.1.2 now. I am now using my Note with Leanige OS, based on CM12 and android 6.0 and am not having problems plus the phone is running very smooth and fast. This rom is using own Kernel, recovery and google apps(gaps) package.

You really interest me...
I'm surprised cause it's because I found out a guide to instal a 6.0.1 which needed TWRP that drive me to install it.
I'm really confused too because I downloaded TWRP app from the Play Store and it accepted to downlñoad and install the app to my phone. It also accepted to download the Rom and it's when I restarted the device that I met me with an unusable phone...
So ?...
Sure, if I wasn't alive I wouldn't have done that but is it all my fault ????
I would ne glad to get all the steps you did and files you got to install your ROM on mine Ç(as far as it speak french and spanish too )
Is it "Leanige OS" or "LineageOS ?
What about the battery ? The autonomy ?
And I must say I'm a homeless and don't have a computer with a 22= screen in my backpack. Also I have only 1 Gb of data each month so...
Most of the time when I have problem that means I have to go to cyber and this is never free....
Then I cannot really read everyday everything about all my devices ( and I'm not only speaking about phones)
Anyway thanks a lot to everybody who help me...
This is what I use now : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note/development/rom-nightowl-alpha1-t3255536 It is stable and usable as a every day phone. I followed every step Bauner wrote and I don't have issues for now. Battery life depends on the use of the phone and how old is the battery. Mine is 2012 and it can hold 1 day and it is logical.
Try using Kies to restore it. I had to use Kies to update the OS on my bratty little sisters Note as she had gotten it running full throttle all the time.

Hi, I will try now to upgrade the ROM but wanted to ask you if you make any change to your partition size and if yes what did you do, I mean how much place did you allow for the system?
Tell me if your phone is rooted and how you did it and if you have CWM or TWRP installed please...
Thanks
I downloaded those two files:
N7000_STOCK_PIT.zip => In case I have to reinitiate partition size one day
n7000_(16gb)_4_6_8_10_12gb.zip => Cause I think this one should be the one I need.
I suppose I should be allowed to use the ROM I just previously installed which give me a 4.1.2
Well....mine is repartitioned with 8GB internal and 5gb for sdcard0. It is rooted of course with TWRP. Rooting comes with the rom. It has SU instaled and to root the device you only need to go in the dev options and to tick on the root acess.

I am dowloading this https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=25384 and I am a little bit surpised cause of the file size...
It should be bigger for a full OS no?
I'm a little bit stuck with this http://opengapps.org/?arch=arm&api=6.0&variant=micro
What version should I get and how did you install TWRP ? The las version of this ROM must be installed with it...
Well I lied to you. I am using Philz touch CMW recovery and sorry for that. The size of the Rom is normal. With the Gapps you just need to hit the download button (red one) and flash it later. Install could be not a big problem. The steps are in the post. If you didn't find them here they are: Copy Rom + Google Apps to your sdcard.
3.flash PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1.tar.md5 (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120702299) to get cwm recovery by using odin or mobile odin
4. boot into recovery
5. flash this kernel https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95887005526788121 to get an updated cwm recovery
(this step will make your old rom unbootable stuck in the n7000 screen but you can boot into recovery with press and hold "home" and "volume+" buttons and power on your phone)
6. you need to reboot! your device now to recovery
7. you are now in the updated recovery and you need to do a factory reset (and to go sure you should also format the /system partition)
8. you can now install the rom and gapps and reboot your device
