Nice
Yey! been waiting for this, for soo long! Thanks man.. hope encrypted data partition works after reboot.
Wooww cooooolll...
Great recovery! I really like the customization options. I haven't tried flashing a custom ROM yet, but it should work. Also thank you for making the internal storage backup-able.
How is this different from TWRP?

There's more features, like managing magisk modules, ability to modify the splash screen of the recovery, gesture navigation, ability to backup internal storage, OTA support (miui only), and much more.
Nice recovery, wait for stable build.
How to update Sweetin stock rom from 12.5.9 to 12.5.10 using orange fox recovery? Can I flash Incremental Updates or I have to flash full recovery rom?
Hi,
I have a Redmi Note 10 Pro (Indian Version) with latest MIUI 12.5 installed and running good. I debloated my system via adb tool and is ok, except for GPay not getting uninstalled. Also I want to install Sony Music as System App (As I used to do in Redmi Note 4). So in order to do the same I installed Orange Fox Recovery and tried to delete Gpay from /Product/app via OFox File manager, But failed. Also I tried to Push Sony Music App to system via OFox File manager and that too failed. I used to do this in my all old devices.
Now when I searched, I found about this decryption problem. But I can access and delete/move files in internal storage via OFox file manager. Also I tried TWRP and the result was same. Then I flashed OFox in TWRP and flashing worked successfully and device recovery is now OFox.
So what might be the problem that is stopping me from deleting/pushing app into the system? Anyone can help pls.....
Steps I did was
I've booted to MIUI
Enabled Developer Options as well as USB Debugging
Flashed Orange Fox Latest stable via adb
Booted into Orange Fox Recovery
Flashed Orange Fox Zip
Reboot
I didn't do any format data. Is it because of that?
I have successfully flashed OF using cmd, but I still can not mount storage. I tried decryption but it is unsuccessful. Any tips?

You got your answer then. Currently, there is no recovery capable of decrypting Android 12. The only real solution to the decryption issue is going back to A11 and/or waiting for recoveries to receive A12 support(no ETAs)

Well, apart from battery drain issue, I am pleased with PE. So I am gonna stick to it. OF is already there, means whenever I need to upgrade the recovery which supports decryption, I can just do it with sideload. Thank you for clarifying.

Reporting problems
If you wish to report problems, be sure to do all of these:
1. Copy the logs immediately you see a problem
2. Explain fully and clearly the problem, and what you were doing when you encountered that problem
3. Attach the logs that show the problem. If you fail to do this, there would be no way for the developers to ascertain what exactly is going on, and therefore your report would be unhelpful.
4. Give full details about the OrangeFox version, your ROM, and your firmware version.
If you want to know how to copy logs, read https://files.orangefox.tech/FAQ.md

When rebooting to recovery I have to enter a password to decrypt data and then I have access to the recovery, but I shouldn't yet because I have also a password to the recovery. So without the password, I can format data etc, and then when I want to reboot to recovery it asks for a password, which is a little late, don't you think?

Thanks. Indeed, this is a known issue (relates to FBE encryption). It will be fixed in due course (at least it doesn't compromise data security, because the correct password is still needed before data can be accessed).
I've been waiting for this work for a long time, thanks

I had a similar problem, I had to flash TWRP via bootloader (not the official, the one by Arian, that works better) and then as I had been having trouble with the ROM I also wiped system and caches and flashed the ROM and GApps, after booting I went again to recovery and flashed OrangeFox, no problem so far since then

It's fine, i don't really use the vibration support, maybe that is why i didn't noticed when i was using the recovery. ?
I always use flashboot boot to access twrp... Can i just extract the Recovery.img from the zip and do the flashboot boot? I want to try this because the Mauronofrio TWRP blanks as I do the flashboot boot on MIUI 11.1.1.0 Global (Indonesia) Android 10

Should work. May I ask why you don't want to flash it?
It's because of the incremental updates... I usually uninstall magisk and update the firmware, after that I reinstalled the Magisk... It is way faster for me as TWRP from Mauronofrio is not compatible with the incremental updates... I dont know if I could update using the full firmware...
But Mauronofrio TWRP blanks everytime I boot with fastboot boot, so my MN10P is not rooted right now...

This thread is specifically for OrangeFox recovery build for the devices mentioned in the title above. For others, please refer to wiki.orangefox.tech or wherever you got the file from. And please don't continue this discussion by replying to this thread.
Hello everyone! I flashed 'vbmeta.img' and then 'recovery.img' using 'Heimdall' (I chose it because I'm on Linux with no Windows available). The flashing part was successful. However, the phone gets into a bootloop when trying to boot into Android and the phone can't be turned off. I never touched the other partitions apart from VBMETA and RECOVERY. Right now I'm only able to enter recovery and download mode. Could you please recommend me something?
Can you elaborate what specifically you mean by bootloop?
Gets stuck at the boot animation? If yes, then try disabling dm verity or flashing magisk based on your preference.

ROM works great on Oneplus 8/Pro. No 8T support for now.
Download links to Mi 9T Pro, is that correct?
Csn we not just use twrp to update from evox 11 or freshly flash 12?

The download button in OP links to the latest build on Google Drive. TWRP is currently in beta and I can't even get it to work to flash some A11 ROMs. Although you may try.
I would highly recommend a clean flash for now, although I won't tell you what to and what not to do with your own data. I just ask if you dirty flash and experience any bugs or issues, please see if the issues persist on a clean flash before reporting anything.
It's not clear where is the link for 8/8T?

to be Clear: i saw that button , but i was looking for "Kebab" 8T version , not "instantnoodle".

Ohhh. You didn't specify that. You asked for a download for "8/8T" builds. Check the second post, 8T isn't supported.
Edit: 3rd post
Does this include OnePlus Settings?
Nice! That's one of the best roms! Can you made it flashable from twrp?

Not likely until TWRP resolves all its own issues. TWRP for our device is still in beta and many things, including flashing "supported" ROMs, don't work for everyone.

Even the last 3.6.0? I red the last comments and seems encouraging
Can i sideload this rom using any recovery? I'm using OnePlus 8 and there is unlimited touch option available in OnePlus settings?
Does not work on the 8 Pro (instantnoodlep), bat states
Code:
Invalid sparse file format at header magic
Resizing 'product_b' FAILED (remote: 'Not enough space to resize partition')
fastboot: error: Command failed
then returns to fastboot even with a factory reset/full wipe
I just read how do A/B slots phone works and now I have a question: how do fastboot rom installer works? What partition it wipes? And how do it choose on what slot install the rom?

I talked with developer over Telegram, and he agreed that the problem might be a display mismatch. I provided a patched boot image. Let's see if he can do something here. Otherwise, no chance to have OrangeFox on this device.

I cross my fingers, same thing happened with Pitch Black recovery. Any other custom recovery works on your side?

None works. I had to make a very simple port from a non-touch custom recovery to make some backups I really needed, but is also full of bugs and I had to Uninstall it. Better wait for developer to sort things out. If by any chance you are looking to root this device, you can easily do it flashing a patched boot image through fastboot.

Trying to fix my bricked Redmi 9A now. Usb drive failure and I have lost some passwords and backed files of some devices I was working on: nvram, etc. Need some days to fix it all...

Why won't custom recoveries work in MIUI v12.5.1.0? Even my TWRP is stuck at the logo and now my device is stuck in that state and can't even go to fastboot.
Still trying to fix it but I can't find it's stock recovery so I can use SP Flash

You just have to download an OTA for the exact MIUI version you have right now, and there you will find stock recovery and boot.
