Hello, I tried to flash from my vendor ROM to V12.5.2.0.RJQEUXM with the mi flash tool(2021-08-13, using clean all and lock but I got an error: FAILED (Error reading sparse file) After that I couldnt start my phone, stuck at the redmi logo (still unlocked), once I could access the recovery mode and wipe all data then my phone could start now with the version i flashed, but i cannot update the google play system update, its stuck on an april version. Should i re flash the rom again, just without relocking the bootloader? Or what could be the problem which made that error?

Thank you for all the helpful information here.
I am trying to get a custom rom onto my 6gb/256gb Mi Mix (probably ViperOS or another). I am following the guide, but having some issues. This is my 1st Xiaomi device, and just 2nd time rooting a phone. It has the CN China rom as far as I know.
I have:
-Unlocked phone by request + miflash. Verified in cmd 'fastboot device-info'
-flashed TWRP (many different versions) some freeze the twrp recovery screen
-verified that 'oem unlocking' and 'usb debugging' are enabled
-tried flashing xiaomi.eu_multi_MIMix_8.7.26_v10-8.0, and Cardinal-AOSP-5.6.1-OREO-lithium-UNOFFICIAL-20180613-2209-treble, both give errors:
"e3004: This package is for device: lithium; this device is ."
"updater process ended with error: 7
Error installing zip file..."
also says 'no md5 file found', 'no file_contexts'
I read that it might be a twrp compatibility issue, I've tried the following versions:
twrp 3.2.1-1, 3.1.1-0, 3.1.0-0, 3.0.2-0, 3.2.1-raupe-blunden-15.1-updated, all freeze the touch screen
twrp by MrRaines, twrpSmarty, (both are the mi mix versions), seem to work fine
currently the phone boots to fastboot fine, but won't boot to the system.
first suggestion, install mi pcsuite to your computer.
second, flash your phone using miflash to miui rom version 8.5.24.
the fastboot rom : http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.5.24/lit...24_20180524.0000.00_8.0_global_3469133506.tgz
don't forget to choose "flash but don't relock the bootloader" script method.
after that, flash twrp again and try flash any custom rom you want.
I'm not having success with that method using miflash.
I flashed another stock rom last night through twrp (not 8.5.24) & the phone is booting fine.
When I try to use mi flash to flash 8.5.24 I get errors.
I downloaded a 8.5.24 fastboot rom that was a tgz file from your link
I installed mi suite (don't think I used it for anything), and mi flash.
I put the phone in fastboot, ran miflash, found the device, set file directory to the folder with the tgz fastboot rom, and got errors (first I think was "can not found file flash_all.bat")
then I tried unzipping the tgz. I was getting error "No such file or directory"
I tried renaming the downloaded rom to .tgz, it didn't help.
Right now the phone is running:
MIUI 9.6.1.0 Stable OAHCNFD
Android 8.0.0
I don't know how to flash or check which firmware it's on
When I use fastboot commands to boot into TWRP (MrRaines this time), I click wipe>format data>yes>reboot into fastboot>fastboot command boot into TWRP
move rom from computer to phone
in TWRP, click 'install'>leave 'zip signature verification' and 'reboot after installation is complete' unchecked> click 'swipe to confirm flash'> get response "ERROR 7"
I downloaded the Resurrection Remix rom & get a different error, "Could not find META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary' in the zip file ..."
[Solved]
Finally got something flashed to it (Pixel Experience).
If anyone has similar problems, I think it may have been that I was on the wrong firmware.
Here's basically what got it running:
-I was on 9.6.1.0 & had checked for updates through the phone's updater
-i enabled usb debugging, usb unlock, etc.
-i flashed twrp-3.2.1-raupe-blunden-15.1-updated
-in twrp i moved over firmware 8.7.5 for mi mix & flashed it (success)
-i moved over the Pixel Experience 8.1.0-2018-0728 & flashed it (success)
-i should have wiped data, cache, dalvik cache, vendor, & system but missed that step
- i rebooted & after a few minutes successfully booted into Pixel Experience

I need help I just bricked my phone and can only access fastboot.
I just unlocked my 9t pro to install a custom rom and followed the steps of this video ( can't post link but it's called: Redmi K20 Pro / MI 9T Pro - INSTALL Pixel Experience ROM Official | Android 9 Pie)
I managed to install twrp, made a backup of dtbo, boot, system and data and then wiped dalvik, cache, system and Data. After that I flashed DM Verity Force Encrypter and proceeded to flash havoc-os which gave me Error 7. I figured I might need to reboot the recovery, after doing so only fastboot comes up anymore. I cannot access twrp and have no OS installed. Please help.
If bootloader unlocked, you could use MiFlash to flash stock Rom

This is the problem with random YouTube videos, they don't always give good advice.
There is no reason to back up dtbo, unless you are going to install an overclocked screen refresh rate mod.
There's no reason to wipe system.
There's no need to install DM Verify Force Encrypter, unless you know what they are for and you choose to disable DM Verify and/or permanently disable encryption.
Go here https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/miui/raphael/
And choose the fastboot ROM for the version you want to install, then flash it in the Mi Flash Tool.
When flashing you MUST change the flash option at the bottom of the screen to 'clean all'. If you do not change this you will brick your phone (worse than it is now)
After this you can start again. Your best solution to flashing is to search these forums. There's many good guides here
Hello.
I unlocked bootlader. Then rooted with magdisk and then repaired imei and TRWP. Now it is MIUI 11.0.4.0 stable.
But it show s v11.0.5.0.QJZMIXM stable update. I click dowlonad update. After it finishes downloading, i click reboot and it goes to TRWP . I install the rom it downloaded but it give error:
zig signature verification failed. error installing zip file cache recovery block map zip file is corrupt error installing fip file
And when it restarts, it says
Couldn't upadte MIUI
What can I do now? Unroot? Please help
I would try with stock recovery instead.
Flash the recovery partition image of your actual ROM and then try upgrade MIUI with normal OTA procedure.

Hi all
I got a Global version of Note 10 Pro.
I tried to flash a custom rom with custom recovery. I installed Teamwin Recovery and then flashed Arrow OS but it didnt boot. I waited for 30 mins.
Then I wiped everything from Teamwin recovery, copied the rom over again and flashed but now it is showing some mount issue.
I then downloaded the official rom from Xiaomi and tried to flash that from Fastboot but getting Error in 'failed to check sparse crc')
Any idea how to fix this issue?
thanks
you find a way around this?

Did you've tried
Twrp format data with yes
Flash ROM
Again Twrp format data with yes
Reboot with ignoring shown failures.. Wait until system booted
for future reference, I ended up having to download an older version of the firmware. even redownloading the copy of the MIUI firmware I was trying ( in case of corruption or something) didn't fix the issue
I had to download the previous version of MIUI (to the one I was trying to flash) and then I could update to the latest via the built-in OTA updater
no idea what is causing the check sparse error (both command line and miflashtool were giving)
Today i got notification for available update to miui 13 (cn version) after download it asked for reboot to install and i ended up stuck at boot logo for 45min.
I can boot in safe mode,i tried reinstalling rom in recovery ending up with same result. I even tried downgrading to miui12 but i got error saying it cant downgrade.
Is there a way to get back to version 12 without loosing all my data or even making version13 work. Please help.
Im using china version since day 1 and this is only problem i had with it.
Download the latest A12 stock cn recovery ROM and flash it or fastboot latest stock fastboot ROM. You can't downgrade stock, I'm sure it won't let you. mifirm.net will have all the ROMs, fastboot and Recovery.
which option lets me keep my data, tried recovery flash, same thing
