I can't agree with that:
1. MIUI 13 have Android 12 - it's an advantage.
2. Minor changes, yes, but it's still "something new".
But, of course, do as you want. I don't regret this update.
To me, it seems slightly smoother, no ?

You also get monet theming at least in the beta versions of other roms like EU and MMX ( since they are based on CN Rom) the monet theming works great with the Google apps. Also at least in the latest weekly version of EU and MMX you get the new control center( I can Actually just install the apk and I should work). It is smoother and battery is also better at least for my usage, been using the MMX weekly for months and it has gotten better.
this fu..ing update brick my phone in edl mode, i had to pay a guy with an authorized account to unbrick my phone ... 35 $ .
It´s a pilot beta Rom not official. It´s normal. waiting for the first tgz file when you see thios rom you have a stable rom and when you get indonesia or taiwan, this two rom`s the best stabelst Rom`s for Xiaomi.

I have install and test without problem this ROM even if i'm not a "Pilot User". In fact i have test all existing rom AOSP / MIUI / MIUI Custom, 12.5/12.X/13 without never brick my device.
So you can't said It's "normal" to had a brick because fastboot version builded in the other thread work perfectly.
The most frequent brick reason is between the device and computer (cable/usb port, drivers) or a device with a bad base rom or not wiped.
Even official Pilot users have encounter brick from the first Pilot user program in October 2021 (for the first "Stable" SKB Global A12, always MIUI 12.5 at this period).

Is anyone having problems with Android Auto?
My bottom bar and icons are oversized and filling more than half of the screen...
I cleaned AA data, but no luck...
yes, i have exactly the same issue after updating to this version. I already filed a bug and was asked for a screensot. Hopefully this will be fixed soon, as i use Android Auto quite often...

Hi, I'm really interested in purchasing this tablet (I am a big fan of redmi phones). I was a bit reluctant with the lack of a true global ROM being available and there was nothing on xda last time I checked. But it appears someone has been quite busy developing for this. Have you only tried the havoc ROM? Is everything still running OK for you? If so, I'm thinking I will make the purchase. Any other feedback would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

In the beginning I had the global Rom running which also was smooth, but since I am using Havoc on all my other devices I switched also on my Mi Pad. The rom runs stable. Had no problems, random reboots or other stuff like that. Rom runs fast and I hope the community for the device will grow, because the device has an awesome price performance ratio!:good:

Thanks for the quick response. I think I will be purchasing soon, just waiting for a deal on the 128gb version. I can get the 64gb for a decent price atm, so very tempted to grab that instead.
I recently got the redmi note 6 Pro, I have only unlocked bootloader not long ago. Couldn't decide on which ROM to try first, but I have had a couple people recommend the havoc ROM, so I think I will go with that. Then I can have the same on the tablet when I get it.
I really hope to see a bigger community for this tablet too. Thanks again.

Yes you can do (dirty flashing) with no problems.
Hi, as this is my first time flashing anything, I want to be sure I am doing everything right. I have Mi Pad 4 Plus, already unlocked. To use adb and fastboot I need dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zip right? Then to flash recovery, I rename the file from your link and do: fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img -> fastboot.exe boot recovery.img. Should I also flash new firmware osdn.net/projects/xiaomifirmwareupdater/storage/Stable/V10/clover/? Should I do it like normal ROM flashing using recovery? I was thinking of using Mokee or HavocOS, in case I would prefer to stay with Mokee, your instructions are good, I just do not flash Havoc over Mokee? I am still not decided which one I should install. Also in future if a new version of ROM comes out ,as my partition would be already changed, I would not need to repeat these steps? Also do ''forceencrypt on /data'' means that I should 'encrypt device using screen lock password' in Android OS? I am not quire sure I understand this step. Also where do I exactly 'Settings General= Use rm -rf instead of formatting'? Browsing though old root/flash tutorials I noticed some of them mention tools like: no-verity-opt-encrypt-6.0.zip/Universal DM-Verity and ForceEncrypt Disabler/Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt. Are they still needed in any case? I want to flash open gapps and magisk root. Sorry if it seems stupid, I just could not find anything step by step that is actual, some older guides recommend supersu and as I understand it is a thing of a past now.

Hi!
I recently bought an Mi A2, even though I knew of his problem history. I just wanna know if it's still dangerous to buy and update the Mi A2, because that's what I did and now I'm a little afraid of losing it. (Because of the problems you already know)
And also, if it is not safe to update, I was advised to use the MiUI ROM in it. About this advise, what do you guys think?

If you are prepared to do flashing, I recommend havoc instead of converting to MIUI. Latest version has minimal bugs (Netflix not working if you don't flash permissive zip). Problem with slow memory is also fixed in this rom, dt2w works, no screen bleeding issues, quick charge works.

This just happened to me man. Im not sure if id recommend this phone again...
I have been using the 6GB and 4GB variant the day it was launched because our parent company is LOOP telecom china and staff brings phones with them from china and till now i have no problem except software update bugs , the phone is designed very diligently .
Although there isnt much development for A2 as compare to A1 yet A2 is the best designed smartphone after moto z slim.
I love slim phones and loving A2.
I've heard good/bad things about both of them. I've used xiaomi.eu on my former RN5pro and was very happy however if the experience is better with revolution OS I would give it a try (regarding battery/performance/bugs etc.)
Thanks guys! Have a great day :highfive:
I am also interested in this topic. I used Xiaomi.eu on my MI MIX3 and now I have to switch to MI9 and I am not sure, whether to use Xiaomi.eu or Revolution OS.
I did not test Xiaomi.EU, but from what I read RevOS is the same with more debloat and better battery life. The negative aspect is you get less frequent updates than with Xiaomi.EU, so it could be that with Xiaomi.EU you get new features and bug fixes more quickly, but then again there are only very few little bugs on RevOS so I think it's not much of a problem tbh.
I'm currently on RevolutionOS with Magisk and PocoLauncher and I'm really happy with it, but of course when the first stable AOSP based Roms with working camera will come out, I'll switch to that very quick haha

Great! Honestly I've never updated my phone anyway (since I've debloatet/modded it completely and didn't want to do the hustle again). If it offers the same/more features like xiaomi.eu + no frequent updates (since never thouch a running system) I think I'm giving it a go (after the 15 days wait period
Thanks again for your great reply! :victory::good:
In my opinion RevolutionOS battery life is better than EU . Idle time last night using RevolutionOS was about 3% in 8 hours while with EU rom was 10-13%.
RevOs for sure. I have tried Flokorom (GSI), Xiaomi.eu, and RevOs and I keep coming back to Rev. I get the best battery life by far with it, especially stand by time.

Actually, yes. I forgot to mention these results are with the XASP Patch. I am not sure how much that patch contributes to battery, but the combination of RevOs and the XASP are the best things to flash on the Mi 9 right now. I used GSI roms and will I like the minimal OS it just felt a big buggy and not able to fully utilize the hardware yet. Don't use any extra mods/apps like L speed mod or Greenify, I havent found them to be useful (on MIUI at least) and can got better battery without.

I use xiaomi.eu because it updates more often(weekly). I always remove any additional app I don't use from system when those are not impact to my daily use.
Haven't tried ros of mi9, but was using ros in the past. Don't feel that different to eu

Battery life on ROS wasn't much better on other Xiaomi phones in my experience. But on my Mi 9 I had far better standby time on ROS compared to Xiaomi.eu and Global EEA.
Now on another thread I just saw this rom called "mi-globe" : https://mi-globe.com/rom-builder/
You can basically pre-customize things like if magisk is preinstalled etc before downloading the rom. How is that one compared to RevOS and Xiaomi.eu ?
But from what I saw it's not much different, and I still think battery life will be better on RevOS.
One more question (since so many of them exist already): which type of TWRP did you use for flashing Revolution OS? Thanks!

I think the fiirst time I flashed it, it was with an old version of randomblame's one. But now I saw in the thread that there are problems flashing with the new one.
On the chinese TWRP it doesn't work for me.
Second time I flashed it with an older version of mauronofrio's TWRP (3.3.1-4 because there was a bug with the new version too), but now the bug is fixed on his version and siankatabg's version.
So I recommend you to use the latest versions of either mauronofrio or siankatabg's twrp, since they both support decryption now too. :good:
On the latest update of revolution os, I noticed my battery and network speed icon is white and can't be seen properly as compared to time and network bar which is showing with black color. How do I solve this?

Personally I like Xiaomi.EU the best, it is always the most up to date, uses the latest source code and there are no issues with anything, battery life is outstanding. Absolutely there are many great roms, but for me is the most consistently stable.
If you try it, use the built in kernel, and it works fine with the latest magisk Canary.

If you need MIUI than xiaomi.eu is best option, if you need AOSP with extra gimmicks than you can consider HavocOS, if you need pure Pixel experience than PixelRom or Pixel Experience is your best bet. But there are several roms out there you can check but this is my own opinion and you asked for it

Without a doubt, one of those custom roms custom roms has corrupted one of your partitions .
You need to use a fast-food ROM and restore your phone, Use Mi Flash make sure the bootloader box is not checked or use Adb.
Note: A recovery ROM will not fix your issue it has to be a fastboot "images" ROM. Images will be in the name of the file.
Afterwards you can flash this ROM and no longer have those issues.

Your an absolute legend. Thanks.
So it seams that installing the eu rom is worth it according to multiple owners here and my bootloader can be unlocked within few hours so I want to give the ROM a try. My question is what is better as a daily driver the stable rom or the weekly rom? or there is no major difference ? my top priority is battery life so is there any branch better than the other in this aspect?
Also, can some one post a link of a working TWRP to use in flashing the ROM?

Weekly All day. Love the updates.
I was on the weekly and whenever I sent a msg to someone on WhatsApp it make my music stutter on the Bluetooth speaker
The same thing happened with YouTube vanced and YouTube music etc
I use WhatsApp heavily so I had to go back to the stable
I'm also on stable... Few months ago in my Mi Note 10 I had weekly releases, and got update via OTA, installed, phone restarted, everything seams to be ok, and I went to bed... There was bug, phone crash itself, phone was on, but nobody was able to call me, alarm didn't ring, power button doesn't work, everyone who calls me heard signal, but phone didn't ring at all. At my work they think something was happened to me, and they send 2 people to my house to check why I didn't show up in work
So if that's your main phone, and you are using alarm in it, I recommended stable

Why not be on the cutting edge updates while you're using a cutting edge phone?

Because the bleeding edge often has a list of bugs that need to be fixed that affect the critical functions
It's not always worth it just to get a couple of new features a couple of weeks sooner if they break your device and then you have to reinstall all your apps and data because the particians are different

If you're going EU, then head over to the Xiaomi EU forum https://xiaomi.eu/community for all the info and links to twrp and downloads. Or search in mifirm.net but the EU forum is the best source as it is their Devs ROMs. I use weekly but battery use can change on any update, not happened to me but you never know. If it does, at least it'l be fixed by next weekly update.
