Hello - Introductions

Hi guys.
I'm new to the forum looking to dive deeper into Custom Roms for my Oneplus One 7T Pro. Just installed Lineage OS microG and currently working on getting Gcam to work. If anyone can point me to a good direction I'd really appreciate it.
Have a good time and see u around

Ay! welcome to the community!
here in xda people will probably help you out if you ask them, and it's very nice you're getting into custom roms and that stuff heh
U can ask me some stuff here in this thread about custom roms, rooting and things related, and the good direction is ALWAYS BACKUP EFS and possibly PRELOAD to not get into trouble with imei and baseband stuff. seeya next time

[Q] ]Potenial ROM Development for LG L90 D415 Variant

As a first time programmer I was thinking about constructing a Vanir rom for the T-Mobile variant of the LG L90. I was wondering if anyone else would be interesting. If anyone is I would happily start the developing process soon. I looked into the ROM a bit but I also had the thought of maybe Color OS, Oxygen OS or a few other if possible but no promises on anything. I will accept help on and will give credit to those who help. Anyone one interesting please say and if there's any interesting roms that aren't so well known or complication with my ideas please tell me., cheers.

Exactly my thought but still have to look into it to see if it would be worth trying though, all it is, is a modified version of CM is why I might strive away from that idea
Oxygen OS would be out of the question, considering it isn't open source. But good luck on whatever you choose to compile. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'd be more than happy to lend a hand when I'm able

It isn't open source but yet it's built off of CM 11 from my understanding so it could be replicated even though it would be a pain for every small details but would be amazing and thank you I will take it into consideration.

Please Could Someone Build TWRP For Android 7 Beta

Hi all,
TWRP doesn't seem to be working on the Android N beta. Does anyone know how to build TWRP for Nougat on our device or if possible could someone point me in the right direction?
I would really like to get Google Assistant working and build prop editing seems to be the only way.
Regards
Lee
i`m already in contact with one dev from the honor 8 forum and testing twrp for nougat. at now it is booting but there are some things to fix before it is ready for release. i would stay away from it at now because you could not flash anything with it. i will tell him to start a thread here after the relevant fixes are done.

Thank you very much for all that you and your fellow dev are doing.
If he wouldn't mind starting a thread to keep us updated that would be brilliant.
I am willing to help where I can if needed.
Regards
This is awesome...thanks so much

Blu VIVO XL2 , Any Development ??? :)

Hello Devs !!!
It has been several months this cheap poor man's phone is out there but I don't see any Dev even looking at it . Phone is pretty good but I hate its interface .
I was wondering if someone will take some time and have some root info with couple ROMs. Some people like me will be thankful.
Thanks

Yeah I'd be happy to at least have root so I can tweak and run root apps and run some stuff it's got a good amount of resources
Yes, I have this phone as well and I'd love to be able to load a custom ROM. I'm not really a fan of the interface either. One of the things I don't like about it is that they installed their own custom "Start" lock screen on top of the "stock" lock screen, which doesn't really look stock. It was easy enough to fix. I just changed the unlock method from "none" to "swipe" and disabled the "Start" app. There are a few other minor issues, lack of updates, the launcher (easily resolved by Nova though) so it would be nice to see some custom support. It is an excellent phone for the price though.

Thanks, actually had found that thread, didn't realize that's the one you were talking about. Was hoping there was a separate forum for the Vivo XL2 - tried the custom ROMs as posted on G+, but the camera issues were a dealbreaker for the kid. Am in rooted stock ROM currently with Nova Launcher cleaning up some of the "Carefree" bullpucky, but would LOVE to get rid of the nonsensical swipe-up-for-notification-settings crap.

In the first post you can search Stock ROM BLU VIVO XL 2 V0070EE / V0070UU. So have ROM 3.18.35 kernel.
In the second post you can look TWRPv3.2.3-0 for 3.18.35 kernel.
In the fourth post you can see Nougat 3.18.35 kernel ROMs. So these ROMs have both (front{selfie} & back) camera working!
I'll stop any question here in this thread!!

[Need]Someone who has the knowledge of Rooting/Flash custom rom/Going back to stock

Hey people! If someone has the knowledge about all those stuff and has the time and good will, please make a video for all those steps. For our phones there is pretty much no info, especially for Nougat. All videos on YouTube are outdated. Sometimes I am thinking about rooting my phone, but all that I read is outdated or different in every source I find... Wanted to try Lineage OS but same thing... So much info but mostly old...
All tool needed, where to get them - links will be best.
Flashing Custom Revovery (latest available)
About rooting it will be best with Magisk since it's better than SuperSu in many ways.
Rom: Lineage would be nice.
If you are active Youtuber you can make it as series and earn something for your work. Pretty sure many people will be interested in a quality guide (for dummies).
Hope some good person will do it, and thank you in advance.
+1,would love to understand how to properly unlock the bootloader(where can I get the code, what kind of ADB should I use) while we are on nougat..
I don't have a good camera but i will try to make a video of your request

LOS 13

Hi guys. Is there anyone who is interested to keep the most stable and usable custom ROM (LOS 13) up to date with security patches. I know there are a few new rom out here, but all has issues.
If nobody interested to do, I would highly appreciate that if somebody would provide a step by step guide how to do it.
Many thanks.

Then you should ask that guy, if he can help you out.
Building lineageOS is not a kind of magic, if you look around at xda or lineage itself.
Where did you search for a guide to build it for yourself?

I was searching in lineage wiki but i have win7 as main system and just to build LOS i dont really want to install a full linux.
I have a debian jessie system, but just for testing , so its HDD capacity is limited and the recommendation is about 100Gig.
So i cant really afford a 200G+ ssd.
But seems like i have no other options if i want an up to date android or maybe its time to get a new phone.
