Hi, I've lost my old account and had to recreate one.
I'm used to flash firmware on all my phone for long time ( I flashed some Windows mobile phone too)
Very glad to come here again to try some new firmware for my devices.

Hi ,
My girlfriend has had her galaxy s for about 4 months i recently flashed darkys rom onto it, with no problems (excellent rom btw), but now the phone has started doing menu and back on its own randomly making it impossible to do anything on it for longer than a few minutes , its like the soft keys are being pressed (but they arent of course).
I've had a google and came to the conclusion its a hardware fault and not software (ive tried factory reset / re-flashing roms/ kernels) but now i have the problem i cant send the phone back to tmobile with a custom firmware so is there anywhere i can download tmobile firmware and stock kernel to make it like when she got it ?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
In the General chat, there is a link to all the stock roms. Select the one you want and install that one. I am on t mobile in the uk and my code is TMU so that will most likely be fine for you.
By the way - Its exactly what I did last month and they fixed it fine for me with no questions...

hi thanks for the quick response , ive already installed a stock firmware but when the phone boots up it doesnt do the tmobile logo now, plus the firmware i have installed, i'm not sure if thats ever been available on tmobile , which firmware did you send your phone back to them with if you dont mind me asking ?
Hi,
I used the JP1 stock rom here. I remember now that once I installed the stock one I used the Kies registry hack to put the latest t-mobile firmware on there. Then it was branded T-Mobile again. The only problem is that now kies has been updated the Registry hack may not work.
If I were to send you a nandroid backup of my original T-Mobile rom (I did that when I got a new one!) Would that help?

I would blame the rom before the hardware and want a wipe to a very clean phone and install a stock rom .
You cannot download TMobile firmware you need somebody to give it to you unless you backed up your original firmware .
The only way to get TMobiles firmware would be to downgrade your phone to stock Eclair then use Kies to update as normal to Froyo branded TMobile or if that failed use the registry patch .
Fix on a non stock rom is going to depend on the guy that picks the phone up and the problem .

It would be brilliant if you could do that, how can you send it though ?
@ jjegan i have completely wiped the phone, changed the firmware to 2.1update1 same problem still exists with the soft keys randomly pressing themselves thanks anyway .
can any one give me some advice about making this phone look as stock uk tmobile as possible before i send it back ?
Good Morning Guys
After a lot of struggle I decided to post me and my friends problem here, I know on XDA Developers there are a lot of clever guys who might help us to solve this problem. Please note that I have a Galaxy S3 which is rooted and loaded with Custom ROM WanamLite Rom, so I am familiar with the process on how to do this and we have tried all options to fix the OS on this Galaxy S4 i9505 of my friend. Here are the details:
We are from South Africa and when overseas my friend bought a Galaxy S4 i9505 in Bangkok, he had the option between the clone and an Original, so he bought the ORIGINAL rather than the clone. Now once he got back to SA he started using the phone which wasn't network locked but we noticed that the OS version was a bit funny and that the phone was already rooted out of the BOX (Strange) so we thought he bought a clone and followed all the links on the the net showing how to determine weather its a clone or not. So we came to the solution that his phone is NOT a clone but it has a weird OS on it that we cant change/load another OS on. Here is what we tried:
1) We wanted to load a new OS or Custom ROM since the phone was already rooted, so we first tried to download the stock firmware from SAMMOBILE for South Africa and copied it to the Ext SDcard and rebooted the phone in Recovery mode. There we didn't have any option to install OS/ZIP from Ext SDcard ..... Not even under advanced. There is NO Mounts & Storage nothing, it just doesn't display any External Storage options. So this made us go to step 2
2) We thought okay lets try at least and load another custom ROM since its already rooted and see if we can fix the problem the other way around. So we installed Odin on PC and connected phone in download mode to install CWM recovery, ODIN pics up the device as "Unknown" and the port in ODIN doesn't become green. We have installed/uninstalled various S4 USB Drivers and when the phone is connected to Windows 7 PC is shows Unknown Device ...... You can access the phone Sdcard & ExtSDcard through Windows although its shows Unknown Device, but when rebooting in recovery mode it doesnt see the Ext SDcard - WTF?
This is where we gave up and decided to see if any of you guys can help or have any ideas to fix this and get a proper OS working on it ...... Cause I suspect that whatever OS is on the phone wont even receive OS updates and we want to be able to update the OS/Custom ROM for new OS versions like Android v5 thats on the way. Help would be appreciated guys
Take care
Hello community,
I have actually came across a difficult situation with my Galaxy S3 LTE i9305 (international variant).
In order to give you a high level view of what happened im going to write a few topics of what I have flashed to the phone since I bought it (new) back in March 2012:
1. I'm from Portugal and I bought the phone on an online retailer because I wanted the grey version. So far so good I ordered it on the UK.
2. The phone I received, although being unlocked and sealed/new, had software branding from MDA germany.
3. At the time we were on Android 4.1.2. I went to sammobile and installed the TPH version (Portugal) of 4.1.2 in order to have the full stock experience. Eventually I rooted the device.
4. Later on came the 4.3. At the time I was not aware of the bootloader complications and ended installing the UK or German version (clean) that was on Sammobile. Installation went fine and I immediately rooted the device without issues and disabled Knox in the Rom.
5. Yesterday I had this great idea of flashing 4.4 (still unaware of bootloader issues) and downloaded the spankin new 4.4.4. from the nordic countries from sammobile. This is where it gets interesting.
6. I have tried a zillion combinations and either I get stuck on the samsung logo or I get the error of binary 3 and device 2 (or the other way around). All the flashes via ODIN have been done using the AP/PDA option.
What can I do to unbrick it? I don't remember which ROM I flashed for 4.3 and I have tried to flash the german version of 4.4 (set 2014) and the nordic countries one. Also tried flashing 4.1.2 via CWM recovery directly from SD card but still no go and stuck at bootloop. Have also tried software repair using Kies (manually inserting serial number under the battery) and still no go for my dismay...
Is it recoverable? Is there a way to upgrade it to 4.4? If it helps so far I have been able to fash stuff via ODIN and still have download mode. I dont care about data as I did make a backup before setting off on this "adventure"
Thanks in advance.
Eventually solved using Philz recovery. Turns out that during the flash process for some reason the /data partition could not be formatted.
Now recovered and running the clean 4.4.4. of XDA
Hello,
I bought this phone second hand like 2 years ago, and I never received any update on it.
This is a Note 9 SM-N960U model.
And still is on One UI 1 version and Android 9 (N960USQS2CSGB).
So I want to properly update it. (I assume that the last firmware for it is the USC USA N960USQU8FUE1 one ?)
What could be possible to do ?
Can I Factory Reset the phone (after making a backup) then flash it to the last Software update with Odin or something ?
(Also, I tried using Samsung Smart Switch, but it says that the phone is already up to date).
I read online that I might have to flash it so It can be recognized as another model and make the process easier or something.
But It looks "dangerous" do to for something such expensive.
I need help in order to avoid bricking it. It's been a looong time for me.
Thanks.
(Also interested about rooting the phone, but that's another topic).
Hi!
It's a long story, but I need newest combination file. I couldn't find newer than u3, but I need u8, because I have s8 rom installed and bootloader won't let me install older version of course.
My current pda is a715fxxs8bvc2 ; csc - a715fprt8bva1.
And my long story is:
I've bought used a715f/ds 2 years ago. I've used it for these 2 years and now I've switched to s21+ 5g. I did a factory reset of a71 and gave it to my friend. The next day my friend tried to set up this phone and was copying her files, but got a message that phone is blocked by carrier (kg lock) "t-mobile", which is a fun thing, because phone was bought at other carrier "play". I called t-mobile, but they said that thay can't tell me nothing, because I'm not the orignial buyer. I tried contacting the person from which I bought the a71, but he didn't respond. So, I tried flashing rom and that's when I found out about the kg lock. I tried searching the internet and I tried few things. While searching the internet I found out a guide on xda forum in which someone suggests flashing pit file and then using "boot to bootloader" option, which opens fastboot and then to flash combination file from there. I have no idea how to flash combination file from fastboot and I coudn't find any guide for this, so I tried good old odin, but I get error in odin, because only combination files I could find are u1, u2 and u3 (android 10Q) and I need u8 (android 11R) or newer.
P.S. I've also contacted "play", but they haven't responded yet. (I've called to t-mobile, but I've used in-app chat function for play, because I'm their user)
P.P.S. Bootloader is unlocked. My plan is to flash newest rom after flashing combinantion file (which I hope will take down kg lock) and then do magisk and try to use some tools to fake/change imei, so my friend could use normal phone functions (call/sms).
If you have any other ideas, please let me know.
me to need that new version
