Hey Guys!
Is there a way to tell WM6 to automatically route Audio through A2DP as soon as a paired device supporting the profile is connected?
Clarification:
When using a Hands-Free-Headsetfor telephony you can pair it once, then turn it off, after that it is automatically connected to the phone as soon as you turn it on again.
In contrast to that a Bluetooth Stereo headset is not automatically connected, you have to manually activate it in Bluetooth Settings first before you can listen to music through it.
Especially with my car stereo used as "A2DP Headset" (which loses power every time the ignition is turned off) this can get highly annoying.
Is there a way to tell Windows to automatically "use" A2DP-Peripherals when available?
Try A2DP Toggle: http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware
The Today-plugin migt reconnect automatically, but it has a memory-leak...
To easily manually reconnect, you can create a shortcut to the exe:
\Program Files\Teksoft\A2DPToggle\A2DP.exe
Then you can put that program on your today screen easily.
And if you want a nice icon with that shortcut, you can change the shortcut file to:
53#"\Program Files\Teksoft\A2DPToggle\A2DP.exe" "-a2dp:1"?\Program Files\Teksoft\A2DPToggle\settings.exe,-0

Yep. The WM bluetooth stack sucks. It works better with some stereos though. I tried it out in the store with I believe a Pioneer (with bluetooth 2.0) and it was perfect. Turned it on and a2dp connects. Switch to another input and a2dp disconnects. Switch back to bluetooth audio and it connects. It was flawless. I ended up ordering the kenwood built in bluetooth unit (bluetooth v1.2) and it is terrible. I must manually toggle the bluetooth connection (I use a program that I wrote to do so, kinda similar to the above the above poster posted). Also, sometimes after a call comes in it wont reconnect. Sometimes i must power off then on the headunit a few times. Wasnt this thing supposed to make things easier?! A real shame because I love everyting else about the kenwood head unit. It works better with some ROMs on my phone (this is with a tilt; xperia on the way ).
Yeah, A2DP Toggle works for me as well, It's just dumb that this phone cant just do that itself. My old W880i could! I'm using a Sony DR-BT21G headset

A story to learn before you you buy the head-unit I spent almost an hour at Fry's to try many units w/ my Tilt as well (Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC ...etc) and ordered online w/ the JVC unit. Excellent sound (compare to other model) but disconnect after phone call issue exist. I believe it's HTC fault since my Eten M600 (MS BT stack) and Asus P525 (Widcomm) doesn't have this issue (but others....). But I got to admitted HTC one do have the best sound quality.
BTW, my JVC BT-1 will auto connect my X1/Tilt when I start my car and I think it serve my purpose.

Although my car shows my phone connected when I drive, while I am wearing the gear, any calls are routed through the gear.
I know it has to do with probably only one device can output the calls, but is there any way to go around this ?
Is there a quick way to disconnect the gear from the phone while in the car ? it's just that it's a lot of steps to get into the settings....
Was looking for something simpler and quicker.
Although it would be cool not to actually have it disconnected as I still like to see the notifications without pulling out the phone.
Anyone else with this issue ? Any suggestions...?
Only other thing I thought of is to find a software that would put me a toggle on the screen maybe ?
Thanks
No problems here. The phone call well get route through whatever device accepts the call

Same here.
Car has inbuilt blue tooth, if I accept via the car, it routes through the car.
I also have no problems. The interesting thing is, I can initiate a call on the gear, and it stays there for about one second, then transfers to the car speakers. Which is where I want it anyway.
I have the same issue on Tmobile S4 4.2, I believe the 4.3 update has different profiles that allow this. Right now I'm stuck to connecting to the Gear or a Headset, I have to choose between the two since they both connect as 'phone audio' under BT settings. Once 4.3 is release in 2018 (LOL) it should be resolved.
I have a similar problem...or worst
My camaro '12, uses 2 BT profiles. One for media audio and the other for phone audio, since the gear also connects to my GS4 using phone audio, my cámaro's infotainment screen frozes until I disconnect the GG to my GS4 or the cars phone audio to my GS4.
I can't even chance the damn A/C temp or speed when that happens. Hahaha

I have connected my LG G3 to the galaxy gear Samsung gear 1.
Everything is fine except that I cannot use both gear and bluetooth connection in my car, whereas, if I am using my Note 3 there is no problem in connecting both.
Wondering if there is a solution so that I can connect both bluetooth and gear to my 3G in my car
I have the same issues. I have a lg g3, galaxy gear 1, and bt headset. If the gear is connected, calls go to gear and not the headset.
When I had my galaxy s5 all was fine.
Anyone have ideas?

Something else I noticed, it may only happen to others with a lg g3, but if the watch is on and paired, the headphone jack doesn't work.

I don't have a g3 (yet) to test but I think using SQL lite editor and modifying settings.db under the settings app, you can adjust bluetooth priorities. By default priorities are all set to 100. I think if you changed the gear's priority to 99, it may work.

That may be over my head to an extent.
If it was laid out I could do that. But I've never used sql. I just tried and failed pretty bad.

Ok, I'll try to break it down. Hopefully, it works:
1) Get SQLite editor (sounds like you already have it)
2) Scroll down to "Settings Storage" and then select "settings.db"
3) Select global
4) find the entry "bluetooth_headset_priority_<MAC address of Gear>" and select it
5) Click menu > edit record
6) Change the priority from 100 to 99 and save
Hopefully, it helps. Let us know.

Not sure. I would try setting both the gear and your headset to a positive integer and make sure the headset is set higher and see what happens. Not sure if this will work or not but it can't hurt to try.

I've setup Trigger profiles to do exactly this back when I was on 4.1.2 since multiple devices can't be connected at the same time on that version. From Android 4.3+, multiple BT devices can be connected at the same time and I thought it was at the OS level where the system would use whichever devices answers the call...... I guess it is a function of the Samsung dialer after all.
hi all
need some help with Tasker/NFC to run bluetooth in my car...here is what i have set up:
-Trigger set to run Tasker task (turn bluetooth on+set variable)
-Tasker profile to switch off bluetooth once disconnected from car bluetooth (wait 5 secs+turn off bluetooth+variable cleared)
the NFC trigger works flawlessly...its the exit task which doesnt! any suggestions/ideas??
thanks!
PS: Moderators please feel free to move this to another forum if posted incorrectly
When you say "exit task" do you actually mean exit task? Because that wouldn't make sense. An exit task is what is triggered when the context in the profile is no longer true and not part of a profile on its own.
Perhaps share some screenshots of your profiles
to clarify, its not an exit task but a separate profile...sorry for the misleading context.
have been playing around a bit with my setup..i noticed the following: when i place my phone on the nfc tag, Trigger launches the Tasker task of switching on bluetooth, the bluetooth indication comes on for about 3 secs and then disappears. during this time, the bluetooth off Tasker profile stays green (active) although i have a wait command of 20 secs before it should switch off bluetooth if not connected to any device.
hope that helps

I haven't got any nfc so can't test. What I'd recommend though is disable the off profile for now and make sure your nfc works properly and doesn't turn off after 3 seconds. Once that's done. We can look at the second profile.
For what its worth, I had lots of trouble with Bluetooth profiles.
Things for you to consider are that as soon as you turn on your BT, it will be *disconnected* which will trigger your 2nd profile. So you'll need to put a wait in there for a couple of minutes, THEN you will need to run an "IF" task, that then looks to check it is still disconnected before turning off bluetooth.
I found with BT that unnoticeable disconnections can happen for 1ms that will trigger the 2nd profile. It may be worth setting collision handling up to only run the newest task or the oldest task (whichever you think best)
i think i finally got things to work the way i want them to (well, not really, more on that later on)
1-use Trigger to run Tasker Task when tagged with nfc : Bluetooth on-->variable set (BT)
2-run Tasker Profile when connected to car to set new variable (Car)
3-run Tasker Profile when disconnected from car : wait 15 secs-->Bluetooth off-->variable clear BT and Car
the above setup worked 3 time without error and has me convinced that i have things setup correctly. not really sure if the variables are necessary, but have always used them so continuing with that theme.
the next and final step is to have Bluetooth turn on once sitting in the car without having to use nfc or touching the phone. had experimented with Secure settings and Tasker itself (BT near) but neither worked consistently. any Tasker plugin or separate app that i can use for that purpose? [running a rooted phone on stock 5.1.1 rom]

You can't use a Bluetooth trigger to turn on Bluetooth, because Bluetooth is off so can't be a trigger..
Hello, I will try to explain the best possible.
I want open the garage door using my Android Radio installed on my car without any device installed on the garage door.
All I see are devices that are installed next to the garage door and through an application connects to this device and opens the door.
I would like to be able to install this device directly in my car, which has powerful antennas and can be powered by usb, to install it hidden inside the car connected to the android radio.
Any idea?, thanks!

I like your idea. How about this device: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/201...lgo_pvid=3444855f-2c57-40cf-81bd-afcaac958d1e
If you fit it in your garage your should be able to control it from your car. If your garage door opens with 433MHz it may work. I would like to do the same, but my garage uses 868MHz and rolling codes so I dont think it will work for me. Too bad.

That device I see that it is a receiver 433mhz, not an emitter, which should be installed next to the garage and welding two cables (if I am not mistaken).
Regrettably if your door code is variable, you need to make a cable installation next to the opener (you can see this video for know how Install on your garage, mute the video if you don't understand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XYTUuW-WVs ).
Android device have no way to do it,you can try to use a Raspberry pi with bluetooth(try to replace door controller with Raspberry pi)

Yes I think you are right. In my case the manufacturer of my garage door motor is a french company called Somfy and they do sell a WiFi to RF converter, but it cost USD 240 which I think is too expensive. https://www.somfysystems.com/products/controls/mylink

I also have a Somfy garage door opener.
I installed a garage door opener very simply on my motorbike. I got a "1 Channel AC DC 12V RF Wireless Remote Control Switch Receiver +Transmitter 1 CH" from ebay.
Connected the receiver part across the key switch contact on my Somfy door controller, powered it from a mains to 12v adapter, removed the battery from the remote control, and wired it in series with one of the direction indicator bulbs on the bike.
To open/close the door, all I had to do was briefly turn on the direction indicators on the motorbike, and as if by magic, the garage door opened!!

What would you gain? You press the screen button on the android head unit to open the door. How is that different than pressing a physical button?
If there is a geek factor in it for you then maybe check this one wire usb adapter:

It's simple comfort, but I'll give you some examples that may make you change your mind.
1- The remote control is stored, you need to stop the vehicle to find it.
2- You must keep the button pressed, and many times the door does not open and you must play with the position of the remote control.
3- You can run out of batteries, in this case if you do not have spare batteries in the car, you will not be able to enter or leave the garage unless you have another method until you change the batteries.
I also thought of installing a good antenna so that I could open it early enough and quickly.
Using a shortcut on the home screen of my android radio would be a simple touch of the screen without having to distract or stop the vehicle, saving time and effort.

Well, the amount of time required to get something working on android is greater than the time it takes to purchase batteries and store backups in the car. Several cars have built in garage door opening functionality that you can program. You can very easily take a remote and wire it to a new button you can mount in your dash. Plenty of after market remotes that include a visor clip. Old skool radio works better on doors, but if you just gotta have something else look at the available options like:

I do think this is an old problem. There are now several garage door openers with google home integration. An "OK Google, open the garage door" should work with them through your android auto.

This is how I have been doing it for a couple of years. I can use either an OK Google command or a shortcut on my Android Auto launcher. More recently (only in the last couple of days), I've set up a couple of Macrodroid macros to automatically open or close the garage door when I am connected to my car's bluetooth and I cross over a boundary 300m from my house.
I use the phone app to call one of my family members to open and close the door. It's a low cost option.
I've automated my garage door a couple of years ago and I did not had even a single issue until a couple of months ago. My garage door was not opening at first, then it was blocked at all. I was trying to it on my own but I am not an engineer, so I called a local specialist but as far as I know he was in vacation, so I've called a friend of mine who's barking locksmith. The guy really know his job and he was working with smart locks for a while so he fixed this issue of mine in a couple of minutes

Yes, you can open a garage door with an Android device using a compatible smart garage door opener. For professional assistance with installing a smart garage door opener or any other locksmith services in Los Angeles, you can visit https://super247locksmith.com/.
I wondered if any of the tasker expers could advise a way around an issue I have.
I have 2 cars, both with bluetooth conected to my Pixel 6.
I also have a Garmin watch connected via bluetooth used for alerts etc.
Since I've started working from home, I have an issue which is drivng me crazy. If my wife goes out or return in either of the cars, but phone will connect to the car outside whilst I'm in the middle of a call.
I could just turn off bluetooth, but then I'd lose connectivity to my watch.
What I really want is the ability to enable/disable individual bluetooth devices based on my location. So if at home, the cars are disabled, if away from home (i.e. driving) they are enabled. However bluetooth seems to be all or nothing.
I could forget the connections, and re-pair whilst out in the car, but thats a pain.
So I wonder if even if tasker cannot disable individual connections, maybe it can change the settings of those connections. If I go into the car setting, I have 3 toggles which can be set off/on. Phone Calls, Media Audio, Contact Sharing.
Is it possible for tasker to change these settings on an individual bluetooth device based on location? So basically, if I'm home, disable phone calls and media audio on my cars.
And if this is possible, what is the best event trigger? Presumably GPS is one way. I also have wifi at home, but dont use it on my phone (4g is quicker and more reliable)
Can tasker scan for wifi networks and use as a trigger without actually connecting to wifi? Are there any other ways of detecting I have left home?
And if Tasker cannot do this, any ideas how to get around this issue outside of tasker?
Thanks in Advance.
