Hello everyone,
today I updated my phone (security update from xiaomi) so i had to restart my phone.
After restart it asked me to insert my PIN instead of Print, so I wasnted to put it in as usual but the pin is just never correct.
IS there a way to go around this WITHOUT LOSING DATA if im the true owner with correct fingerprint, all accounts verified etc?
The phone is not rooted neither with custom recovery.
Method 1:
1. After typing wrong password continuously for 5 times, you will see a screen with message “Phone has been locked” with “Forgot Password” option at the bottom.
try that

i forgot my screen unlock password, after trying for almost 100 times, i tried hard reset option by press n holding volume up button, home key and power key, then selecting wipe data/factory reset option. after selecting this option the phone still asks for a password. please help!!
how can i unlock my phone? or how can i reset my phone without password?? please help
2e or 3e recovery? naturally resetting should do it.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda app-developers app
as far as i know, a factory reset only deletes stuff on /data/data. The lockscreen stuff is in /data/system. If it isn't yet asking for a google account password (which I think it is, considering you tried 100s of times) you could just delete the appropriate file. eg. if it was a pattern, you would delete gesture.key. It would them accept any code.
Hope this helps....
Recovery > Delete All User Data or Full Reset Phone
Failing that try these solutions as it worked for some users :
Take out the battery, the sim card, and the SD card and leave the phone for 2~3 hours like that
Then put battery back in and re-enter everything and should boot
or
Keep trying your code till your completely locked out and no attempts
If you fail too many times to unlock the phone with your pattern, it tells you to try again in *** seconds.
It will show a button on the bottom that says "forgot pattern?" Click it!
Make sure you know your Google ID and Password...
Log in to your google account on your computer, the same account you registered for your phone
After logging in look at the top right corner of your inbox/email page, it would say your google username.
Now this google ID on the top right corner of the page would be displayed as [email protected] or something
Type in the google ID, thats visible on the right hand top corner of your page into your galaxy s handset locked page, and type in the password.
If this works let me know as a few people suggest its working
I restart my phone daily, and after powering off, when I start it, I initially get the swirling dots, and then the screen to enter my pin ( white screen - not the lock screen). After I enter the pin, in get swirling dots again, and it then show me my home screen..
That is the normal behavior... Worked fine every day... Till today.
Today, when I powered off, and powered on, I never got the initial screen to enter my pin. After the swirling dots, it took me straight to my lock screen and asked for my pin. No idea what changed. I didn't decrypt my phone. Settings/ security still shows encrypted. I've restated 3 times, no difference. Straight to lock screen. Any ideas as to what has happened?
I'm on stock 5.0.1, rooted with auto root, boot loader unlocked. Nothing else. No change since the day I flashed 5.0.1 images. I did not disable encryption.
Edit: the only thing that comes to mind is that I installed last pass premium, and enabled it in accessibility. I then removed the app ( didn't like it) - not sure if that could have caused this issue?)
Looks like it is a known bug

I also had that problem, for me was the solution to go to security and change my password what i have set. So I don't select pin but password. Then restart the phone. If right is will ask for you password. And then go to you lockscreen. If it works you can switch back to pin again. Hope it helps

FWIW- I'm having this problem now/still... On two devices, oddly/incidentally.
I posted this elsewhere... But I'm having the same problem. Any thoughts? I can post more details, but don't want to repost this everywhere that I see people having the same unresolved problem.

* It used to be that when I did a reboot or shutdown and restart, I would have to enter a password before the system fully started.
* But now the phone boots into the phone without putting in my password. I can reboot the phone and it will boot all the way to the Lock screen, and I can unlock the lock screen with my fingerprint or my backup password.
* I am concerned that somehow my device is either no longer encrypted or that there is some setting which has stored the boot password.

I just got this too after I've uninstalled Greenify, which adds an Accessibility app, and I guess it triggered this.
Reset your password/PIN again, check the "ask at boot" option and that's it.
Hi there. I have the Huawei Mate S CRR-UL00. Here in South Africa, we stopped getting OTA updates after Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which has been really frustrating. So I decided to do a manual update to Marshmallow using the Middle East update from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-s/general/huawei-mate-s-firmware-crr-ul00c185b355-t3411584
That was a couple days ago, and everything has been running brilliantly... Up until this morning.
Without me changing a damn thing, all of sudden the option to have no screen lock password has been greyed out due to it being disabled by "device administrator, encryption or credential storage". None of those things have been set for this. I've also gone through every fix I could find online, like clearing out the credential storage and disabling the device administrators. No luck.
But then while going through everything on the phone trying to find what could have done this, I realized that I'm no longer getting detailed notifications on the lock screen. But here's where it gets weird. When I go to the setting to change this, IT'S NOT THERE. If I search the settings, it finds the correct option, but when I click on the search result to take me to the correct screen, there's nothing.
I'm a little bit stumped on this one and could really do with some guidance.
go to settings > screen lock and passwords
go to password
go to pattern
draw a 4 point pattern
enter backup pin 0000
lock device with power button
unlock device with power button to show lockscreen
enter a WRONG pattern
wait 30 seconds
enter your backup pin (0000)
it should reset your lockscreen security password should be
set back to "none".
Hi all,
First of all, I would like to say that as a new user, I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this question at. If it is not, I would be happy to be redirected to an appropriate forum.
I have a Moto 5G plus phone. About 4 months ago, my power button has died. All attempts in fixing it have failed, so I ultimately downloaded an app called "Volume unlocker" that allowed me to lock/unlock the phone using the volume buttons. This allowed me to keep using the phone for the next 4 months without a problem.
4 months later, I encountered a new problem: when I try to unlock my phone, when I enter my (correct) password, the screen goes black for about 2 seconds, and then I am asked to enter my password again, in an infinite loop. Note that if I enter a wrong password, the phone says that the password is incorrect. This happened all of the sudden, without updating anything or installing a new app. When the phone is locked, I am able to do some stuff like using the camera, activating the torch, and using the Assistant (basically, all the stuff I can usually do without unlocking the phone). If I enter the assistant, and while I am at the assistant I am trying to unlock the phone, once I enter my (correct) password the phone says "System UI has stopped".
All the solutions I found online required either restarting the phone, doing anything that requires the power button, which as previously mentioned does not work, or having debugging mode on, which unfortunately is off and it doesn't seem like I am able to turn it on without unlocking the phone. So I am stuck locked and have no idea how to fix that.
At this point, I guess that any solution that would at least let me extract my personal data e.g. personal photos would be enough for now.
I have also talked with Motorala but they were not helpful at all.
Thank you very much!
I had my S10 in auto restart mode. When I happened to check my mobile in morning it was not ACCEPTING my PIN. Ultimately I had to FACTORY reset my phone. Now the problem is that it is not ACCEPTING any new PIN or BIOMETRICS. With a message saying "SCREEN LOCK WAS ALREADY CHANGED. PLEASE TRY AGAIN WITH THE NEW SCREEN LOCK". ANY SOLUTIONS?
I have the same problem, I have not changed the PIN and now i can't unlock the phone, restart... funny joke
SOLVED: restart the phone (Power and Volume down key for up to 45 seconds.) + factory reset
But i havent saved my data. How could i have it restarted without loosing my data? Help. Ayuda
