So no matter what ROM I flash I start setting up, select my language connect to WiFi and then I get This Device was reset blah blah I sign in to my Google account, the only one that has ever been used on this phone and it sends me right back with a toast pop-up that says Please Sign Into One of the Owners Accounts.
I've not changed my password or anything I just want to flash a new ROM, tried Pure and Chroma and both do this. Bout to toss it out the window.
are you using up-to-date gapps/the ones that the rom recommends? An out of date/incompatible "setup wizard" can cause this.
I've used the recommended Gapps with both ROMs
Enabling OEM unlock in Developer options stops this behavior. But, you have to get Android fully working first.
EDIT: I always forget this. Go into your account on the PC and remove the device from it using the Android Device Manager. That should eliminate your sign in problem, though it will also likely delete any backups Google made of your apps and settings.
Hi all,
This is my first post so if something is wrong please let me know.
So a few months ago I wanted to root my HTC Desire 626 but struggled due to KingRoot not supporting my phone, and there not being many guides online. I unlocked my bootloader via HTCDev and eventually gave up on the rest of it (I'm a Windows guy!).
2 days ago I installed CM Launcher 3D Pro (which I paid around $5 for on Google Play). After noticing the app was using too much CPU I removed the app and went back to my original Sense Home launcher. Later that day my battery died and when I charged the device and switched it back on everything went very bad, very quickly.
I had constant "xxxxx has stopped working unexpectedly" errors which mainly related to Google apps, such as Google Play, Calendar etc. I downloaded as many Google APKs as I could find for the apps that were throwing errors and copied them to install to my device manually. This seemed to fix a lot of the problems and I no longer get any error dialogs show up on the phone.
However now Google Play will not load (at all, it just has a white screen). Google Maps doesn't load either, and I get a constant notification telling me to update Google Play Services, with a side note saying Google Play Services won't run unless I update to the latest version. That would be fine if I could actually get to Google Play to update the thing As I said Google Play will not load up at all. Hence now I can't install anything from the play store (using the browser version to send the app to my device doesn't work either).
I've tried running recovery both via entering the bootloader and using Settings > Backup and reset > Reset phone and nothing works. Using settings doesn't respond when I tap OK, it just goes back to the previous screen, and using the bootloader just hangs on the HTC splash logo until I perform a hard reboot (holding the power button for 30 seconds).
Also Google Sync doesn't work, and when I try to remove my Google account or add a new account it doesn't work either.
What I need is a way to return to stock, the RUU files for my particular device via HTC don't work either, and in bootloader mode I don't see any options (either via fastboot or HBoot) to install a rom from a zip file, so I can't grab the rom zip file from a RUU by copying it from the temp directory on Windows. The reason I think the RUU files don't work is because my phone doesn't have a particular provider. I purchased the phone from Littlewoods here in the UK which was sim free (unlocked).
Is there anyone who has a stock rom and a way I can install it via ADB or Fastboot? I know I can flash the recovery via Fastboot with "fastboot flash recovery myfile.img" but when I try that with any recovery file the recovery still just hangs when I try to use it.
Any help is appreciated (before I take a hammer to it or use it as a YouTube experiment with liquid nitrogen or something).
Thanks in advance.
Hi all.
I have an unbranded multimedia device installed in my car.
I know its cheep and old (OS is 4.1.1)
the only thing that can help identify is that on startup it says 'powered by Uzeb'
my problem is that the device is locked and no apps are allowed to be installed
I would like to root it so ill be able to install a newer version and if not than some apps.
problem is I can not find the option to Factory reset.
I am pretty sure that this option is gone or at list hidden from end users.
the company that installed it at first place demands an extra payment to unlock it back.
so Im trying to do it on my own.
For some reason I can't attach a photo
in About option,
there is a Uboot version - v00.01.13
Appreciate any sugestions.
no apps are allowed to be installed

Android Auto doesn't work that way - apps get installed on your phone, not on the head unit.
so what am I missing here ?
Its a touch screen mounted inside my car.
it runs on old version android and blocked to end users
who wants to update the OS by themselves or to install different apps (or even update the existing ones)
So this is not Android auto and perhaps im not at the right forum
any suggestions on what else can I do ?
Hello all,
To begin with - yes, I'm an idiot. I'm in the UK and my week-old Mi 11 Ultra is on the CN ROM. Had multiple Chinese phones with Google Play loaded and never had a problem, but the Mi 11 Ultra just won't sync my contacts. I've found advice on here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...o-sync-google-contacts-in-miui-12-cn.4276659/) but it seems to be a couple of months out-of-date as I don't have those apps and can't download them. The Contacts app (the Google one) says there are no contacts in my account (I do) and in the Accounts & Sync area in Settings my 'People details' apparently synced two days ago - but they absolutely haven't.
I'm also having plenty of problems with notifications which is really getting on my nerves.
From reading this forum I suspect the answer you're all going to give me is to flash to the Global ROM, but I've never flashed a phone so I'm pretty nervous about doing that.... Is there possible another workaround?
Thanks all (for both help and tolerance of an idiot).
(another idiot) I was also on the CN ROM with Google services installed and couldn't get any Google related back-up to work in general. Photos app was not uploading anything, phone wouldn't back-up. I was expecting a few quirks and was ready to work around these issues, but the notifications were the real killer. Seems like most apps get killed in the background and will not sync, even with all battery saver settings removed, all permissions activated, and apps locked permanently in the task manager. In particular from my experience Gmail and WhatsApp were problematic. Even WhatsApp calls would not come through if I did not have the app open.
As you suspected your best options are probably either to go with an official global ROM or go with the (unofficial) Xiaomi.eu ROM. Personally I went with the latter because it promises a fully functional phone without major drawbacks, but opinions are quite mixed on it - there are several discussions in other threads sharing different experiences and pros/cons. I've had one or two minor visual bugs but nothing major. I didn't try the official global ROM yet, but it will most likely be the most stable and best performing option - just expect some extra hoops to enable banking/security/ID apps.
If you find any workaround to get these things working on the CN ROM I would love to hear them, everything was super smooth and I was happy to stick to it if only notifications were reliable.
Just simply flash global rom, fixed all problem in CN
Don't know how people (outside CN) can live with CN rom
The problem is when you've never done it before! I'm worried about ending up with a £700 brick. I've seen a guide but I am completely new to doing this so it's pretty scary.
Thanks Braptrus - it's nice to hear from someone else who isn't exactly an expert on all this. Don't suppose you could point me towards the guide you followed to flash the ROM, could you? From the few things I've read I think I'll go for Global over EU for now as it seems an easier/safer starting point.
I followed the instructions on the Xiaomi.eu forum and a couple of YouTube videos from "topfone4u" (he has demos for .eu and global ROMs). I think if you follow one of the videos and go step by step and really follow carefully it's quite straightforward, but on the other hand it's very possible to brick your phone if you make a mistake so need be careful and make sure you understand what you are doing. Otherwise if you are not confident I'm not sure if you can find a local phone shop who can do it for you?

Connect phone to pc, if just need to copy file, change the MTP mode on phone, default is just charging (no storage detected)
I've done that. The laptop can see it but Mi PC Suite just tells me to connect by USB. I can explore the phone in Explorer but Mi PC Suite doesn't see it at all. It knows something is going on - when I change to File Transfer the 'Connect your device via USB' message pops up in Mi PC Suite.

Trying to work backwards. I couldn't get Mi Unlock to see my phone and read that ADB drivers might need updating and that Mi PC Suite was the way to get that done. The newest version wouldn't work, but an old one did and eventually I got them updated. With some more fiddling, I've now managed to request to unlock!
So now I will be able to flash the ROM a few hours before I go on holiday next week, which I suspect will be a terrible idea.

https://mipcsuite.com/ - the newest version still won't recognise it, but v3.0 did. I couldn't get the account screen to go away, but it did updates in the background - it was all in Chinese but I saw 'ADB' in that a couple of times. I did that a few times and eventually Mi Unlock recognised the phone.

U didnt need that shiet program at all.
follow the official guide to flash fastboot rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/mi-11-ultra-cn-notifications.4334413/post-85652965
Thanks for the advice all - I managed to get it done a couple of weeks ago. The 168 hours bootloader unlocking failed several times and things went slightly differently to the instructions but I got there eventually. The topfone4u videos as suggested by @Braptrus were brilliant.
And yes, it was pretty easy in the end!
Hello,
I tried to update to Android 12 to see the new functionalities, I've done it quite some times so I knew what I was doing. But actually... I came accross a big problem.
After that I wanted to go back to the Android 11 version, and so I launched Twrp again, but it didn't boot the same way it usually does. No asking for password, no changing language available, and no data visible on phone (where you choose to install magisk for example)
And so I searched a way to reboot the phone seeing I wasn't able to do anything... but the fun comes after. In that new version, the power button doesn't reboot/stop the phone anymore, it's done with that accessibility pop-up you got on the menu. So, I was stuck inside Twrp.
I fount a reboot section, and I tapped on it, but it seems it wasn't the actual reboot..
Now I'm stuck with a black screen, phone doesn't start, no fastboot, no recovery mode available whatsoever when I press the combination of Volume +/- and power button. Pressing the three for a minute didn't help either. I tried everything.
My phone is apparently stuck in EDL mode, beeing recognized as COM3 on my computer.
I tried flashing it with XiaomiFlash, with the Android 11 12.5.9.0 SKBMIXM version but either it says the phone doesn't answer, or "write time out" or something.
My photos are saved on google and my app are mostly games that are linked with google account so I pretty much doesn't care about factory resetting I just want the access back now.
Is there a free solution I can do by myself ? (not going to give the access to some random telegram guys I don't know, I have read some messages)
As it's detected by the PC there is something that might be done, but that's not in the territory of things that I know sadly..
If someone can help, that would be immensely appreciated.

Global A12 is the bricked rom of the year.... There praticaly any problem with the chinese A12.
Bad news, you will paid approximatively 25/30 $ for unbrick your device, it's the only possibility, because only a certified xiaomi account can unlock EDL on your Mi account.
Good news, if you want try A12, Xiaomi.eu A12 is out, MiuiMix also... And it's really more safe.
I PM you a link for a Unbrick service
So something similar happens to me, if that's what you are referring too, TWRP gets stuck on a12 it won't respond when TWRP is injected and you want to go to recovery since it won't decrypt you will see that it shows 0 on internal memory and With the touch screen not responding, so you have to keep the power button press for awhile for it to reboot, TWRP will work but only when you boot to it from fastboot. That's how I been able to flash CN beta a12, Xiaomi EU a12, and stock Global a11(not beta version) I went back and forth yesterday from Xiaomi EU Stable, to CN beta to Xiaomi eu beta and back to Xiaomi eu Stable.
Yeah it's what happened to me, but I tried pressing the power button for a long time (1 minute or so) and nothing. Did you do it longer ?
My phone isn't actually detected by ADB or Fastboot, only EDL (COM3)
Idk if that's any recoverable..

Good to know, if I need those service will totally let you know thanks !
There is no solution except through EDL mode, through a person who has access authorization.
Unfortunately, I also went through this. The problem is that the phone is repaired by connecting the platform to your computer through a "vewever" program.
After this procedure I was hacked through my AMAZON account. I assume my passwords and passwords were stolen.
That's why it uses a computer that doesn't store data, especially the browser.
