Did you turn off gesture confirmation. Mine is working fine although took some time getting used to it after using Samsung gestures.

if the app overview button got the same problem, then it's definitely sensor problem.

I have make small app, which switching off screen.
Instant, without any waits or faking switching off by set brightness to zero.
It's simulate pressing of power button.
Maybe this one will be interest for somebody
root needed
Nice! I'd be more interested if you could do unlock via soft keys as we had in Hero , i.e. home and menu, as I find the power button is too recessed for easy access.
Not sure if softkeys would be too easy to trigger by mistake tho ??

There is a hack for this but the menu key etc on the hd are not active when the screen is locked so it doesn't work. I did it today but you have to press power then the keys become active and you can use menu etc to unlock. Pointless as you still need to use power button first. The hero's keys were hard buttons as is the desire. It worked great on the desire. Unless anyone knows a way to have them active while locked? My power buttons a nightmare as it's not very clicky and really recessed. My wife's hd power button is much easier to use. Anyone know a way to have the soft keys active all the time?

Thanks for this app, i was waiting for.
Power button isn't as practical as your app to power down the phone.
Thank you mate.
Very Nice.... I like it.
But can you please Chance the Icon for me?
Im not able to do this myself.
I would like something like that.
Back and white with a bit gray or shaded would be very nice

In technical terms,yes- it would circumvent the process of having to use one's digit to find aforementioned hard power button and then depress said button.

Lol, maybe I didn't want the technical version after all. Dumb it down so I can understand. I'm have it installed but I don't see it doing anything. I have an Evo. How does this work (explain normal).
r0cky.Da.3v0.SU.
Its just a app to lock the phone and turn the screen off. Not sure if it works on evo
Ok thanks buddy, Uninstalling.
r0cky.Da.3v0.SU.
Dunno if this is doable but have you seen the screen lock on the new nexus that was seen at recent web 2.0 summit. Its kinda like the effect you get when u turn off an old crt TV. Could you implement that instead of the current fade effect? Ta
here i send you the perfect icon for me.
I hope you can do this. This would be very great.
Can you make the white corners transparent?
If you cant please make it black...
Im looking forward to you work

Thank you exidler for this useful app. I am just wondering if you can make use of the accelerometer sensor to turn off the screen ( for example by putting the phone upside down) . Thanks again.

i also agree ! that would be a perfect app and since most people do not check their sms upside down it would also be extremely practical
+1

Hello together,
found an app for our device, called easyHome for Samsung. It let control your home button much more then even before (Without root).
You can just touch the home button to go home, or if you buy paid version, then you can unlock device without pressing. Or you can lock the device with holding the finger on home button without pressing. Cost not much 1.77€.

Just installed it. Working great so far. If it doesn't go screwy, I'll buy the paid version. Thanks!
Why does it require permission to access my Contacts/Calls?!

I am sorry, i can't tell you. I am not the dev. I just found it. But here is G+ community where you can ask about it, and opt in beta.
It is not like i thought in pro version. It doesn't unlock phone if you use fingerprint, but dev is working hard, maybe he will get it fixed.

Hey. This app makes your home button as capacitive as back and recents button. You dont need to press it to go home. The paid version also has unlock and wake up feature with touching home button but u will be able to use fingerprint unlock if you wanna use the 'unlock feature'. Battery draining is nothing in this case i think. :good:
I understand the software is trying to make home button capacitive but this is not how it works right? I doesn't work if ur phone doesn't have finger print function. Eg note3. So imo how it works is the fingerprint sensor on all the time. Which might cause battery drain issue. My 2 cent

Dunno anything about the note 3 or others. I have edge plus and it works normal. Fingerprint sensor always works or not just never mind. Im getting almost 7h sot. I need capacitive home button on my device and I have then. Worth it eventhough causes draining.
i tried it then got the paid version then found out it drains your battery bad so i uninstalled it o well
Mine gets killed after a while by Samsung's agresive ram management and I have to restart the app manually in order for it to work. Any idea how I stop it from getting killed?

I don't have app optimization. The problem is that in the last 3 weeks I did not received any software update and I think that option comes with newer software versions.

Running Miui on my new Xiaomi Mi5, there was a really nifty feature where you could "soft touch" the home button to use is as the "home" button (instead of having to "click" it down).
It was a very useful thing! Is there a way of restoring this functionality in CM 13? I've worked out how to swap the back and menu buttons already, but haven't been able to find anything about this.

There are plenty of answers about this. It can be implemented only when kernel sources will be released.
Some new about it?
It's the only feature that I miss on my CM on Mi5.
Man, so glad to see this question here.
I'm sick of seeing the same ol' question being asked everywhere in the CM thread, spamming all around it.
Let the devs to their work. It's being developed here, so when it fully works will be added to the build. For now, it's GREAT to have official CM for our device. I'm keeping MIUI until it's good to go and to switch, BUT... I'm waiting
I would like soft home button as well.
Hope good devs will make it work one day
As a temporary solution, you can use this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-fingerprint-to-unlock-t3466549
Download fingerprint quick action in google play
The cyanogenmod maintainers for mi 5 are working on it
Well in recent new update in redmi note 10 Pro Max. They made the navigation bar bigger than before and it is taking more space than before so I want to make the navigation bar smaller is there anyway if there is please tell me. Also another problem is the font before update every every word in my phone would be displayed as applied font but now in Chrome or Gmail the font is displayed as default font.
Gesture navigation is so much better, make yourself use it for a week to get used to it and you'll never go back to buttons.

I know it's good but I could use the buttons for you know like shortcuts like if I hold the recent button it would take a screenshot or if I hold down the back button it would stop the app forcefully so in that way I prefer buttons but I have used this navigation gesture for a week and it is good I guess but I would still prefer button, well it's my personal opinion I don't want to force my opinions on to anyone.

Hello all,
I'm struggling to do something that has never previously been difficult on former Android devices I've owned.
Is there a simple non-root or adb way to switch the back and recents button in the navigation bar? I've tried a few apps and everything just draws over the existing bar, it's not a super helpful solution. I think custom navigation bar did this but it's not currently compatible with pixel 7 in play store.
Also is there a way to remove the accessibility shortcut on the navigation bar (little man) ? I have tried everything on every article I've read, it's still there.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Sanjay
I second this. Really getting old reaching completely across the screen to press the most common button you use.
Doesnt understand why Google not implement this? I only root so i can use @tulsadivers magisk mod to change this. Hopefully it comes to pixel 7. Otherwise im waiting for linage

I gotta say once I tried navigation gestures and got use to using them I would never go back to using 3 button navigation, and the sensitivity level seems to be so much better with pixel 7 that the gesture required to do a task is very smooth . Maybe it's because I keep the screen protector mode on even though I have no protector, anyways just my opinion on the navigation options, I sure people feel just as strongly why they use the 3 button navigation, not trying to start a war, cheers

Unfortunately I had an iPhone for a while and got used to them.
However, we can't we have both at the same time? An actual factual back button is just less frustrating sometimes.
