Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to install any application on Android Auto?
With AAAD it's quite limited, and mirroscreen is not great.
With a root phone it's possible?

No.
But screen2auto is not that bad. If you have a fast phone, and do everything correctly, it is a bit slower but not much. I forget that it's mirroring some times..
Ok thanks, i go test screen2auto

BUMP? was curious.... i have the same thoughts
I had similar experience on my Tab S4. My impression is that Google has blocked AA from working on tablets.

You can spoof some other device name (need to be rooted)... my tab2 (p5100) is working as a phone (i think there is also an app to to the same).. use build.prop editor and than reboot... simple
Good luck.

Could you, please, dm me with what exactly should I change in build.prop file?
Bumping this rather than starting a new thread...
I side-loaded Android Auto onto My Samsung Tab S7, but it will not run. I'd like to use the tablet rather than my small phone as my AA display in the car. I've tried a couple of the other Auto-focused launchers, but prefer AA. Anyone doing this, is there a simple fix/work around?
The earlier posts suggest it is possible, I guess I'm looking for a bit of hand-holding on what I have to do to get it to work.
Thanks in advance.
Dude
Welcome,
Who use this app?
https://github.com/slashmax/AABrowser
Could somebodey describe "instruction manual"?
I try to use but there is no keyboard, no tabs with favourites links
PS. There is some apps in big, main topics and is difficult to find them.
Maybe is better to create topic to every apps separately for example AA Mirror, Car Stream etc?

Yes? So what about AA Browser ?
One sentence on 184 page in General Discussion?
If you need a web browser for android auto head unit webviewauto.apk works great aabrowser works fine or at least did. I tested both with android auto 4.6,4.7,4.8 all worked fine on android 10. Aamirror was updated about a week ago and broke for android 10 the older version works just fine I didn't check but it is possible that aabrowser was updated and got broken.
Edit:
I use phenotype patcher to activate the apps in android 10/ android auto 4.8 but odd thing I noticed some apps didn't require activations.

Thank You for answer.
I want to ask how to use AA Browser? I can open this app on my car radio unit but in AA Browser (on radio screen) there is no keyboard to enter the adress, i don't see favourites tabs or similar things like in "normal browser".
How you choose what you want to see?
It it is working correctly it should let you use you're phones default keyboard. I have kii keyboard 2 installed.

In CarStream or Web Browser keyboard are showing in the same action.
Hi guys just wanted to know if greenify is still a useful tool to have especially when rooted. Also is it even needed when running blackened mod? Thanks.
I stopped using it and I honestly don't see any noticeable differences.
I just restrict background activity with some apps like Snapchat in the native Android settings.

I don't use it either. Only naptime.
Hey y'all,
Does any one can explain why I should root my device or not ?
I used to jailbreak my iPhone fo hot spot,YouTube, etc
I have been using pixel 3 xl for 2 years I never need it.
You have pretty much answered your own question? If you've had your phone for 2 years and hadn't need to root it, then there is no reason why you should...?
Well I just trying improve my self that's why I asked.that question
I root for system wide adblocking, the ability to theme, improved audio (Viper4Android) youtube vanced, screen off and on gestures, and to limit my battery charge to 80% so my battery stays fresh longer.

The only app that gives me trouble is Spectrum Cable. I hide Magisk from it in Magisk settings. My banking app works fine and I don't use Google Pay although I think there's a way to get those working too.

Thank you i made my research l will keep as is for now.
Hi. I use a tablet permanently in landscape mode. But in many apps when keyboard pop up, it uses all the screen. In many cases you don't even see what you typing regardless the all screen view.. I really don't understand why they made it this way. I remember in past there was an xposed plugin to fix this. Can't be done something with magisk? I think it is just to much to install xposed only for this. Is there any way to use xposed only for this, without making the system slower?
Thanks,

It's so so annoying, I fully agree! Unfortuately I don't know other ways to do that, but you caught my attention with this Xposed module... Do you remember its name? If it's old, it probably won't work on newer Androids, but maybe worth a shot since I use Xposed

Actually I did a quick research and found out that this module is present in Play Store. And moreover, it's still working on Android 11! Thank you so much for the hint!
As for Xposed, these days we have much more device-friendly Xposed solution named LSPosed. It allows to hook only the apps that are necessary for a module to work. I really recommend it for you if you won't find any other solution. Also I use many other useful modules, if you are rooted and familiar with Xposed to some extent, it's a great field to explore

Thanks.. I already reading how to install xposed.. I'll read about LSPosed then...
I readed that an xposed plugin, Apps settings reborn, is still has a working version of full screen keyboard fix per app, and dpi changing per app. And jt works in android 11.. It looks good.

Oh, I have this module installed too and didnt know it has this feature! By the way, LSPosed doesnt have the official thread on XDA (the one existing is unofficial, created by a regular user to discuss about it), but they have official Telegram chat and channel, easy to find
Well i installed it, it looks promising. But for full screen keyboard fix, it doesn't looks like app settings reborn sstting is working.. Most other settings work, so it looks like, some do, some doesn't.. Perhaps i must find an xposed plugin especially for this if it still works..
I'll post if i have a solution.
Edit, it works after all. I set to not display keyboard in full screen, to the app i wanted + system ui + SwiftKey keyboard.. And reboot. Something of all this did the trick..
