Folder Permission Issue - Magisk

Hello, I heard that Magisk is systemless so I cannot modify file permission, am I correct ?

If you have permission, so can you edit all files.

Any "Not granting permission" HACK?

I can't grant some permission in android for my apks, eg : android.permission.INJECT_EVENT
even I have putted the apk in /system/app, the system still doesn't grant the permission
Is there any way to let my custom program can have such permission ( using root? or how to modify the system config ? But not using system cert...)

[Q] Can not change permissions using Root Explorer

I have Root Explorer installed and I am trying to rename a file in the directory system\media and copy a new .zip file to the location. When I have executed the process it changes back to original file.
I have checked the Mount R/W button at the top of Root Explorer as well.
I have checked to make sure the superuser is in the whitelist for Root Explorer.
I also can not add .apk files to the apps folder as well.
What can I do to resolve this.
TIA.

how to edit system/csc/features.xml or others.xml systemlessly ?

any way to edit the features.xml file in system/csc/ foldser on a samsung g925i (india) nougat 7.0.0 , to enable a few features systemless ly ofcouurse using magisk to pass safetynet test
tried root explorer but failed ( need to edit a copy of it in some way to allow magisk to use it )
any help or knowledge on how magisk works with system/csc would be helpful
Make a Magisk module with the edited xml (copy the original to /system/csc in the module and edit it there). When you're done, make a zip and install through the Manager or in recovery.
Module creation details and instructions can be found in the module template and in the Magisk documentation.
ok it didnt workk
the phone didnt boot at all..

That could be caused by a number of things.
First ones that come to mind are that you might have done something you the xml that shouldn't be there or that you might not have set the proper permissions for the file.
It might be something completely different, of course...
permissions were set to 777
if i flash the g925f rom on g925i
i get the features such as stock call recording
if i revert to original firmware then no features at all and all bloated up
idk how the volte enabler module works for samsung devices which is in the repo
playstore has an app called csc feature enabler by wanaam.. but that wont pass safetynet as its not systemless
i made the plugin as stated..
its flashing alright
but not booting
Others.xml and the like need permissions 0644 just as anything there. Wrong permissions caused your brick..
Leave them original

How to modify system file with RootExplorer systemless?

I've installed magisk.
I need to modify /system/emui/base/xml/hw_clone_app_list.xml.
How to edit this file systemless with RootExplorer?
Just edit it, and it will be systemless ?
Or I should to modify the file in /sbin/.core/mirror/system/... ?
To modify it systemlessly you need to create a Magisk module that mounts your edited file over the original.
Instructions here:
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob/master/docs/modules.md
And in the module template:

OK, thanks.
So modify the file in /sbin/.core/mirror/system/ is not systemless?

Hello,
You can create a magisk module that copy the specifiq file into your mod path, edit it using sed (for exemple), all theses steps could be done into post-fs-data stage, so at each phone boots.
Take the module template from the link of Didgeridoohan, and put necessary cmd lines into post-fs-data.sh file:good:
Why is it so hard to do such a system modification with Magisk... smh.

Can Xposed hook Runtime.loadLibrary for a system call ?

The custom rom I am using on my device for some reason doesn't have logcat. After a bit of digging up in the root folder, I found out that it was missing logd file which should be present under /system/bin and is necessary for logcat to work. Already tried to copy it from the official rom of my device (I extracted it from system.img) but pasting it manually (tried both a root explorer and adb) in /system/bin won't do anything as any changes made to /system/bin get reverted back automtically after reboot.
So I thought of a method about hooking Runtime.loadLibrary with xposed and redirecting it to logd on my internal storage when it's requested. Isn't that possible ?
Otherwise, do you suggest any other solution?
Do you think I should move the file with twrp if this doesn't work ? (I am avoiding the use of it because it's still unstable for my device and bootlooped a few times.).
Or should I edit the custom rom's system.img and repack it (I'm afraid if it's size changes my device won't boot)
I will be very grateful if someone helps me out
if you copy a file you must set right permissions and ownership
