Dead ROG 2 and what's next? - ASUS ROG Phone II Questions & Answers

Hello
My Asus Rog Phone 2 died (WW 12/512, bootloader blocked)
I replaced the battery, the phone turned on and switched to EDL mode, only in EDL mode you could do anything with it.
I made flash ASUS_ROG2_ZS660KL_QPST_Firmware with XiaoMiFlash.
After rebooting, the phone went crazy !!! lost serial number, imei, the camera does not work, does not detect fingerprints and does not detect sim cards. The screen is cut, etc. Total massacre.
In fastboot mode it shows up as 11111111111111 and in system mode as C4ATAS000000 or something like that.
The phone boots once and not once, after executing the reboot command, etc. It works as it wants and if it does not, it does not work (you can go crazy )
I read here on the forum that the persist.img file is responsible for it
I bought another phone of the same type and I want to put my dead man on his feet
I have questions for honorable colleagues:
- how do I get the persist.img file from a new phone?
- what program to use to make a complete picture of the new phone in case of any problems?
- can the motherboard be damaged?
How do I get persist.img from a new phone and save it to my old phone after editing? The new phone is unlocked and rooted.
I am asking for help because I cannot cope with it myself
Regards

Thank you for your help
I managed on my own.
Regards

Can you get into the boot loader by soft resetting the phone (inserting stylus into small hole on side of phone and at the same time holding down the camera button?)
If you can get into the boot loader that way - connect to your PC and rerun the rom update utility
i know these but the phone is not entering boot mode and i dont know how to enter the phone in boot mode, i must learn the jtag connecting points over the main board , anybody help me who know these points? :?:

If it's completly bricked, you must send it to service. There's nothing else to do.

Sony Z1 Fastboot File Recovery

Hey All!
I have a Sony Xperia Z1, which although advertised as waterproof, somehow got water damage after a day at the waterpark, even though all the flaps were perfectly closed and the phone even had a case that covered the whole back and sides of the phone.
After a few days of letting the phone dry out, now I'm able to connect it to my laptop, but only in fastboot mode as the phone won't boot up and I can't turn on USB Debugging to try and do something via ADB. Anyway, the bottom line is that I need to recover the files from my phone. I read about pulling files out through ADB, but I have no idea if it's possible to somehow acces the phone memory through Fastboot mode or at least switching to ADB using fastboot. The phone has insurance so I don't really care about the hardware, I just want my photos and files(which I realise I was an idiot for not backing up regularly).
Please help!
P.S. The phone isn't and has never been rooted.
Try here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
Thanks. I read everything but unfortunately the information found on that page and the links provided there doesn't help in my situation. From what I read there, the solutions include wiping all the data off the phone, which is exactly what I don't want to do. I would just need to somehow switch from the current Fastboot mode(blue light) to ADB, so that I can use the "pull" cmd and download my files from the phone.
Sorry to hear mate. Perhaps you find some ideas here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2229250
Thank you. I tried those solutions last night, I managed to enter flash mode, flashed only the system files, without wiping the data, everything was succesful, but unfortunately there was no change in my phone's state. Still no response when trying to power it up, still no ADB access. I'm starting to think that my data can't be recovered in the phone's current state
If you can get flashmode and flash system files succesfully and without errors you could also try to flash whole ftf of your device and wipe everything else but data.

xaiomi mI5 loop,stuck.

hi friends, i need so much your help!.
I have xaiomi mi5, the operating system of the cellphone has been updated, and then the device has entered the loop.
He can not get up at all.
I've tried to do so far:
FAST BOOT - but even the computer can not read the device despite all the permissions I have approved for the computer.
MIPCSUIT - does not work well because the computer does not recognize the device.
Your help must be smart and good people!
I am also stuck with the same problem.
At least I can get fastboot.
I think if you OK to loose data then just go to recovery mode with Volume up + power button pressed together. And wipe all. This may solve the problem. But I don't want to loose data I am skipping this option.
If any one knows other way to unbrick without full wipe then please let us know.
Thanks
have you unlocked bootloader?
you can try run by fastboot twrp recovery mode.
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
after few seconds phone boot to recovery, you can encrypt the phone and copy data.
twrp is here
My bootloader is locked I think.
I tried that command. Didn't boot to twrp.
Any other way.
Anyway Thanks for suggesting.
Are you on latest MIUI global stable? I think Xiaomi's guys ****ed it up this time around and got bootloop for everybody on latest update.
Take a read here and good luck: http://en.miui.com/thread-2776961-1-1.html

Hello,
I had similar issue.
To be able to start phone/miui you should remove sim card,
in my case it was connected to connecting to cell network that caused reboot.
Than it will be possible to update phone using WiFi.
For me issue was solved with V9.5.2.0.NAAMIFA update.

Lifesaver here!
This worked perfectly for me! Go figure?
Cheers
You can try
I tried version gemini global images v10.2.2.0. OAAMIXM 2019115 GLOBAL but failed then tried v8.11.22.20181122.000 8.0 GLOBAL but failed then 2 month later i tried with good battery and good on off and main important is version GEMINI GLOBAL IMAGES 6.11.10 _20161110 and version GEMINI GLOBAL IMAGES V7.2.4.0.MAAMIDC 20160129. AND GUESS WHAT SUCCESS. NEVER TRY WITHOUT BATTERY AND WITHOUT EDL POINT. EDL POINT FOR UNLOCKING BOOTLOCK AND DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE FLASH FILES WITH GOOD INTERNET WITHOUT INTERUPPT SO FLASH SUCCESS. MY 2 MOTHERBOARD OF MI5 SAVED WITHOUT HARDWARE. HOW TO KNOW SOFTWARE OR HARDWARE....1ST CHECK CHARGING HAPPENING OR NOT IN SWITCH OFF AND CAN IT GO TO FASTBOOT MODE OR RECOVERY MODE. IF ALL THIS GOOD GO FOR FLASH IN SAME PROCESS. OTHERWISE HARDWARE AS STATED THAT RESISTOR ALSO PLAY A VITAL ROLE IN BOOTING OR STUCK AT MI LOGO. MOISTURE IN PHONE UNDER IC REQUIRE HEAT WITH PASTE AT HARDWARE LEVEL.

Can anyone help me putting nexus 6 in edl mode? Please..

Hi everyone,
I have bricked nexus 6. It has a locked bootloader plus no bootloader, no recovery, no system no nothing.. If i boot up the phone it goes into bootloader kind of thing and pc can recognize it as a fastboot device but since it has locked and corrupt bootloader there is no command i could get it to run anything.
I know most of you think its simple bricked and cant work it again but refuse to believe that just because the simple fact that i couldnt get any answers from anyone relavent to this. I have been using android for years, basically from the beginning, i know i am not a developer but i think i know few things and i been in similar situations before but this is the first time i got stuck. I know it can be done since its a qualcomm device. There should be a way to put the device in edl mode flash with qfil or something. I know all the post about these kind issues i read them all. Whenever somebody asks about how to put it in edl mode the answer is always go check that post about how to recover from edl mode. Please understand i need to put it in edl mode first to get it out of there.
So if anyone knows a way to put this device in edl mode please help so i can try to recover from there..
I already tried modified fastboot so it can run "fastboot reboot-edl command" it doesnt work for me.
I also tried a custom cable for triggering edl mode on xiaomi devices. But it doesnt work either.
The only other way i know is the short test points on the board or on the chips legs itself.
Like i said there may be no way because the lack of information out there if it is please say so so i can rest
Thank you for your time patience.
The best I can do is point you to [FIX] fix hard brick / qhsub_bulk after bad flash / cm12 flash from 5.1
If memory serves, there was a point when the adb reboot edl was patched in an upgrade. That was rather late in the device's supported lifetime. Maybe when Pie came out?

Redmi Note 3 , lot of hardware components not working

So my redmi note 3 stopped charging and the charge was finished.
During this lockdown, I found a shop that was open so I decided to give it there. The guy told that the charging board got short and needed it to be replaced. He replaced it and charged me 10USD.
But he said that, while replacing the board the software was gone and phone was stuck in a bootloop. I said I can fix that myself and I brought it home.
I tried installing the latest available stock ROM MIUI 10.2.1 global ,also tried MIUI 9.6.
But I encountered the same problem everywhere.
Back camera doesn't work, says can't connect to camera.
SIM card does not get detected.
Loudspeaker doesn't work.
WiFi works but you need to wait a while after rebooting the phone.
Brightness sensor doesn't work.
So I decided to give the phone back to the shop, he told me today that there is an error and he needs 15$ to repair it but it can't be done currently in this lockdown.
What might have happened to the device? I don't trust the shop person.
I’ve had some of the issues before. Brightness sensor and all other sensors didn't work, camera didn't work, WiFi didn't work. But for me the loudspeaker and SIM card worked.
All I had to do is flash the persist.img file.
- You should have an unlocked bootloader.
- The persist.img file should be located in the images folder of the zip file of the fastboot ROM.
- Copy it to the desktop.
- Run fastboot flash persist persist.img command in your PC while your phone is in fastboot mode and check if everything gets fixed.

Ur charging board will burn diode if u use 9v or 12v QC charger. Only 5v is safe for kenzo.
U dont need to throw that board. Just use tiny flat screw driver and scratch and remove the burnt diode from the board. Phone wil start charging again.
Local repair shops give cheap quality charging board. I bought 2 boards from ebay and aliexpress. One is HMFS and CTFS. both works fine with network.

Just collected my phone, dude told that my IMEI is erased and that is the reason why my phone is behaving like this ,
should I first flash persist.img or try something else?
The persist.img did not solve anything.
I'm trying to restore IMEI using different methods but I'm getting some problem.
What would be the best method to restore IMEI?
I have already unlocked bootloader and rooted my device.

I'm pretty sure that I used this or a similar approach to restoring note 3 IMEIs in the past.

Edit: I guess that that URL is banned or something so you'll have to Google it.
