Hey all,
So basically I just bought my first android phone couple of weeks ago. Its the Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 running 2.33 Firmware.
It is not yet rooted (have read some articles found in these forum found them really helpful)
but I'm not gonna root it for now I think cause this is my first android phone Im still a noob (used to apple)
Now my problem is I will be going abroad in 2 weeks and could really use the GPS.Tried donwloading GPS Status but i never actually got a lock on the satelites (or it took too long that I gave up) I also tried the fix but the code (but when dialing *#*#1472365#*#* nothing happened lol)
I also downloaded loads of GPS software such as AndNav2,Wisepilot,Navigon,CoPilot,Sycig but 90% of those gave me an error when I try them such as this software cannot be started on your device.
Is there any good GPS software/app which does not require an internet connection (pls not offline maps but like turn by turn app or similar.)
Thanks a lot.
Personally i use Copilot live 8
maybe you could flash the phone to a clean stock ROM and then try again ??
Good Luck!!
So I finally managed to fix it and get a fix on the satellites
Now my last problem is, I need a good turn by turn app that does not use internet (except maybe for downloading maps first time etc.)
Thanks.
Hmm anyone?
I'm using Navigon. You need an internet connection to download the maps. Following that, there is an option to turn off internet connection. Go to Menu>Settings - second option from the top.
in my personal experience... you need to learn how to root, flash firmware, etc...
i'm also a noob and used to apple devices..
before my galaxy s get great firmware (thx xda-dev), i miss my iphone so much...
but after flashed with great firmware, everything working great, nice apps.. and so on,
also a great benefit for me, i know how to do those things... and i can say bye2 for my apple devices now.. even one great iphone 5 wont help me back to apple
just PM me if you need anyhelp
hope you enjoy your sgs as much as i do...

exact error here:
The application Navigon (process.com.navigon.navigtor_checkout_eu40) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again later.
All I can do is choose force close.
Hello everyone, been searching far and wide here in xda and on good ol` google for a fix for the wifi error.
So far, I tried the codes, I tried flashing original firmware, then I rooted and flashed custom firmware, I tried to flash new modem .. ionno , lots of stuff, none worked.
When I go to the advanced menu in the wifi tab, I notice I have no mac address on the wireless, so probably the adapter is not being recognized or it's not communicating right.
Anyway , with all this said, it's probably a hardware fault, thing is I would like to open the phone up , tear it down, and get the motherboard out.
My question: would hot airing the motherboard help ? maybe someone tried it and got a successful story to share. If not, any kind of advice is welcomed. Thx !

Get the LOGCAT when you try to connect. Gives more info than what you gave.
Hi All,
First post i think on this forum... I Have a HTC one and I flashed the Cynogenmod rom on it a couple of days ago. Right off boot my wifi would not access my network. it could see it and i could put in the password and it would say connecting but it would never connect. So I reinstalled the rom and still nothing the same thing... So today I got fed up with it and I put the Revolt rom on my Phone thinking that might help the wifi issue for some odd reason.. And still nothing. I don't know if i did something wrong in my flashing.. But I have flashed a lot of my phones and never lost wifi ever. I also have no idea where to post this or anything if you guys can point me in the right direction to someone that has had the same problem that would be great! Im going to post a video of what the wifi is doing in a few so you guys know what im talking about.
Thanks for the read.

I have the same problem . exact;y the same. ever since I have flashed my Galaxy Tab 2.0.7 with RC-2 cyanogenmod WIFI does not work . At times I regret flashing my perfectly fine default OS with buggy cyanogenmod .
Same here with CM10.1 (stable version). Whenever I try to connect to my wifi I get an "authentication problem." From what I can tell this is not from my end. Anyone know a fix or work-around?
Is it a 2 wire router
Any chance someone can link me to the best or latest rom for tmobile that supports wifi-calling? I searched up and down, maybe it was due to a long day at work with idiot users that cant figure out how to even turn their computers on.. I just could not find it.
I wish I had better service at my house since I love this phone but without wif-calling its becoming hard to use it for what it is, a phone.
thanks a ton in advance
Hey guys, first time posting here, so please be nice
So I have the note 4, SM-N910T, and about a week ago I started to have WiFi troubles. I would connect, but it would be HORRIBLY slow... Like maybe .5mbs... Today marks an all time low of .01mbs... I don't understand why it is so dreadfully slow. It is like this at home, school, and my friend's house, so I know it can't be my WiFi at home. Not to mention, I can stand literally right next to my router/modem setup and it's only a 50/50 shot of my WiFi actually even showing up!
Please help, as I really don't get it. Thank you in advance
PS: My phone is not rooted
Have you tried a factory reset?
Hey did you ever figure this out i also have bad wifi most the time and bad LTE
