[CLOSED] Carrier Unlock calculator or Free unlock codes? - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Questions & Answers

I have a Samsung S20 FE that is still under contract with AT&T and they won't unlock the damn phone at least not till the end of contract in 3/2023.
Are there any "calculators" out there or free unlock site?
Again this is for carrier unlock and not bootloader unlock

***Moderator Announcement***
Unlocking a device while under contract is breaching said contract; sharing and discussing such methods and services is prohibited, due to legal liabilities.

AT&T Moto X

Is it safe to buy this version? I mean, I'm buying it to use on GSM networks. If the seller couldn't unlock it thru an online request from AT&T, what's the rate of success that even when I buy an unlock code, it'll go thru?
I got it to use in Argentina... should have chosen the TMO one that works too (we have no lte here).
I could unlock it with unlockunit, but i can't unlock the bootloader.
I would recommend you buy the developer version as it is already sim unlocked and also the bootloader is unlockable.
I am using AT&T version now as I am using their service, and I am pretty sure there are many guys got unlock code from somewhere to get sim unlocked. However, in my opinion, just don't expect the bootloader unlock for AT&T version in a short period of time, or it won't happen at all( worst case). There is already a bounty raised for more than $1,000 dollars for long time, but on one could unlock the bootloader and claim it.
In one word, the AT&T version is sim unlockable. However, if you want to flash customize roms in the development thread, just avoid it.

[Q] Any Telus Users Want To Help Me Unlock My Boot loader?

I recently bought my Xperia Z1 online and Love the phone but can't unlock my boot loader. When I bought the phone I hoped that unlocking would be allowed but sadly it was locked. I found out that my device is from Canada and under the carrier Telus. I spoke with Telus and they told me that they charge 35 bucks to unlock boot loader and since I am with At&t with the C6906 they told me that I would need an active account to unlock but I was going to buy a sim and get a prepaid plan but they ship no items to the USA. So Im aware that it is $35 but I will pay whomever does this for the 35 dollar charge plus 40 dollars for your time and it should not even take an afternoon to help me unlock. So if you are a Telus user and able to invoice me the 75 dollars via PayPal or some other means I will gladly pay. ???
I don't think they would really unlock your bootloader though... As far as my experience with sony since 2011 nobody has yet manage to unlock a locked bootloader even thru network operators. I think what they are talking about is network unlock which reps usually mistake between bootloader unlocking. So better sell it and get a real unlocked version instead.

It's already a SIM unlocked phone and I already spoke with Sony and they informed me to talk with Telus because it's carriers that request that bootloaders come locked. I called Telus and they told me that they had no problem providing the boot loader unlock code but I needed an active account to charge the fee. It's even on the Telus page somewhere where it states the fee for unlocking the boot loader.

That's the keyword there "Unlock Code" There's no unlock code when unlocking sony's bootloader. You generate a unique key file by executing some fastboot commands on your phone. An unlock code is used to unlock a network locked phone. Hate to be a bringer of bad news but network reps tend to have this reputation about misinforming you when it comes to technical details such as this. Once you say the words lock and phone they instantly associate it on network unlocking regardless of the other info you mentioned.
We are sorry to close your thread!
Your Bootloader is locked permanently and cannot be Unlocked.
End of story.

Carrier Unlock?

Hi,
I have the Exynos S10+.
Is it possible to carrier Unlock the device through the use of root etc without permission from the carrier?
Many Thank,
I think you have to go thru the carrier or contact the user iBowtoAndroid here on the forums. He offers an unlock service for a fee.

Question Has anybody unlocked the bootloader on a P7 ordered directly from Visible

Considering purchasing, but I'm not sure if they are locked down like Vzw proper are.
TIA!
According to their website:
"What is Visible’s unlocking policy?
Smartphones that you purchase from Visible will be locked for 60 days after activation. After 60 days, we will automatically remove the lock unless we have determined or suspect that the device was lost, stolen, or purchased fraudulently.
Once the 60 day period following device activation expires, your phone will be unlocked."

I keep seeing people say this now. Carrier/sim lock is now directly related to oem unlocking on new devices.
If you purchase a branded pixel device from a carrier the oem unlock option is there but cannot be toggled until the device is paid off/sim unlocked.
This applies to US carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile. Verizon customers are sol.

I'm aware of this, but I'm not sure if things have changed with Visible as it is owned by Verizon and I think they use the actual Verizon network now rather than some weird cloud thing.

Visible is for all intents and purposes Verizon so OP's question is relevant.
Apologies. I was responding to post #2
Carrier unlocking and bootloader unlocking is now directly related. To answer the OP, Visible is a MVNO of Verizon so I'm assuming even if they carrier unlock the device after 60 days, OEM unlock in developer settings still may not appear.
I purchased a One Plus device outright from T-Mobile (cash) and OEM unlock was present but not toggle-able. There was a message underneath stating to contact carrier. After a 15 minute chat with support, they sim/carrier unlocked the device. I tested with my Verizon sim and rebooted. Went back to developer options and surely enough OEM unlock was able to be toggled.
Guessing is always a tried and true method. If it wasn't for visible awful customer service I'd suggest you ask them!
Fate as it is, I got mine from Visible, oem unlocked a week or two later. Didn't have to pay anything off
I cannot comment about Verizon but...
Just an FYI for others asking this question about ATT.
ATT branded phones are unable to have the bootloader unlocked. Yes, you can have it Carrier Unlocked once you meet certain paramters(account paid up, phone paid off, etc) but when you have it Carrier Unlocked, the OEM Unlock feature is not even present in Dev options. If other carrier gray it out, there are tricks to enable it as mentioned above, but not ATT.
I had a rooted Honor View10 that they blacklisted. They sent me a sh*tty s10e as a courtesy and even after I carier unlocked it, the OEM unlock feature was never to be found. I researched quite a bit and found others had the same issue. Ended up trading it in for the Pixel 7 unlocked straight from Google.

Question S23 AT&T to SIM Unlocked ?

Hello,
I have gotten a new S23 (regular), which was a freebie from AT&T. My friend decided to be gracious and to give me one, however I am still dealing with SIM unlock. Is it possible it download a firmware like -U1 to work with my current carrier in Japan?
It's possible to flash it to U1, but it won't SIM unlock the device, just change it to the unbranded software. If you want it SIM unlocked, he either has to pay off the phone (its free after monthly credits) or you pay whatever shady service on Ebay to unlock it for you.

He traded a Note 2 for the phone (There is a deal at AT&T for any Samsung phone comes a free S23).
Yeah, after bill credits. Once the phone is paid off, they'll unlock it.
