Question 5GHZ wifi is not working with asus router - ASUS ZenFone 8

The problem is described in the title. But 5ghz works after i reboot the phone, but if i switch wifi on/off, it sits on 2.4ghz whatever i do. I tried multiple roms, like lineageos 18, 19, statixos, stock rom (android 11), stock rom(android 12). The problem is, others phone do not have this problem. Maybe it can be fixed editing WCNSS_qcom_cfg.ini? My phone model is TW, if it can help.
Also i found related problem on zentalk forum

WLAN problem with Milestone (bad connection, no IP)

Hello
I have problems connecting to my wireless network with my Milestone.
First of all, infos:
Device: Motorola Milestone
ROM: CM 10-20120823-Nightly for Milestone (last version from here: http://skrilax.droid-developers.org/cm10nightly/umts_sholes/ )
Kernel: 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1
now to my problem in detail:
I'm trying to get a working WLAN connection to my router. first, my router wasn't found at all. after some googleing i switched the channel from 12 to 11 (channel 1 to 10 are quite full).
now it found the router and the connection-symbol shows 3 to 4 (out of 4) bars connection strength. when i click it to connect, it either does not get an IP, or it shows bad connection. So to be sure, i told my dhcp to give my milestone a specific IP. But when it shows me bad connection again, the device tells me that it has no ip adress.
i was running CM7 before installing CM10. I had wlan problems with CM7 too, but they weren't that bad. ad CM7, it sometimes did not connect, but a router restart has always fixed that, and once connected it alwas worked until i disabled WLAN.
I'd like to know if anyone of you could give me some hints on how i might solve the problem, or at least find out whats the source of it
Thanks
EDIT:
for some reason i'm connected now. i dont know why, so i tested disconnecting and reconnecting. didn't work the first time, but it connected properly the second try. although i got the connection now, i'm still interested in infos about the problems

No/Slow internet on wifi connection (Android 7, OxygenOS)

Hi together, i got my first onePlus this week.
basicly i really love it, but since the first day i am in struggle with wifi/internet issues.
I read already some Threads on this and other sites but i wans't able to Fixed the issue.
Now i didn't know how to solve the issue and hope one of your guys can help me to solve/localize the Problem...
At first i always lose the Connection, which could be solved by switching of the intelligent wifi (now i know, the wifi dropped because of the missing/slow inet Connection).
1. Problem Description:
the Oneplus is connected to wifi, but when i try to visit a Website or Open the AppStore the Internet Connection is verry slow, or not correct etablished. Sometimes, often after a Router restart or deleting the Oneplus from routers known device list, the Internet Connection via WiFi Works fo 1-15min.
2. Network Architektur.
OnePlus is connected to the Router (Fritz!box). The Fritzbox Works in client mode and gets the Internet Connection from lan 1 Port, which is feeed from a Radio Network (because we have a slow Connection i get Internet from a local Provider). the Fritzbox used 5ghz and 2.4ghz. the Last one is repeated by WLAN repeated(from avm too).
3. one plus os Updates:
- got Oneplus with Android 6!? but the Problem was present. (didn't Check oos Version because i thought an Update could fix the Problem)
- Update to oxygen os 4.1.6 (Android 7)
- Factory Reset because of the Problem
- flashed to Open Beta 10
4. what i have tried
-other devices
- on a Network from Family (with an other Router (from Telecom) and Simple Network complexity -> worked perfect
- remove repeated
- use only 2,4ghz and 5ghz
- changed WLAN channel (i have some 2.4ghz networks around me but nothing 5ghz, so this shouldnt be the Problem source).
- restart Oneplus and Router (which sometimes Works for some Minuten)
- configured Static ip on Oneplus (not possible in Router because client mode)
- Factory Reset
- perform wipe Cache
- flashed to newest Beta
5. What i want to try but where i was faced with other Problems:
- use ipv6 on Router,. not directly in client mode.
- root Oneplus to deactivate ip v6, not able to root, because OEM unlock doesnt Works (after entering Pin nothing happend, OEM is still locked).
i Hope somebody can help me or give me some Input.
best regards

P30 Pro Wi-Fi Hotspot problems

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my new P30 Pro. When I create a Hotspot in 5ghz frequency, no other device can find that Hotspot. If I change frequency to 2.4ghz then other devices can connect to the network. Maybe others have the same problem? Or my device is faulty ?
BTW when I'm connecting to Wi-Fi, either 2.4 or 5ghz, everything works fine
Maybe it uses a channel, that your other devices do not see. I think different regions use different wifi channel ranges. Maybe you find an option for that somewhere in advanced wifi settings.
I just tried on mine. My laptop pics up the hotspot on the P30 Pro no matter if it's 5 or 2.4GHz, no problem.

I didn't find any advanced settings regarding channel ranges / regions.
BTW my phone is C431 if it's good or not, I don't know. I remember C432 used to be the best region code, if you could say so. My P20 pro is C432.
How the problem started, I bought P30 Pro, opened phone clone app, I wanted to transfer data wirelessly from one phone to another. But devices didn't connect, tried multiple times. After that I started experimenting with 2.4 ghz or 5ghz Hotspot. And found out that other devices can't find 5ghz frequency.

My laptop sees 5ghz Hotspot, but can't connect to it. P20 Pro, honor 8, nexus 6P can't even see that. Samsung S10 can connect to 5ghz. It's very strange
EMUI 9.1.0.153 resolved the issue
Nope, it didn't. I'm still having problems - my notebook can see the hotspot, and can connect to it, but the phone just won't share the internet connection.
Bluetooth is turned on, and bluetooth tethering as well, 2.4 or 5 GHz.
I tried USB tethering. Tried apps from the store. Always the same thing - notebook can see the hotspot, but internet is not working. Any ideas? The notebook is Asus Rog G751. I'm on 9.1.0.1.178.
Same here. Laptop works on home 5ghz, but wont even see p30 pro 5ghz, its strange
Worst part is, 3 months ago it was working. Since I don't use it except when travelling, I have no idea what could have changed in the mean time.
In my case, max user connections was limited.
- press "Show advanced options"
- press "Max connections allowed"
- increase the value

Hi guys,
what network cards are your PC using?
Mine has a Killer Wireless 1535 built in and I can confirm this problem:
P30 (pro) switched to 5 GHz hotspot mode and PC cannot find it.
I think I may have found a reason for it, which needs to be resolved by a manufacturer (Huawei or a network adapter manufacturer - no idea if only Killer is affected):
The Huawei P30 (pro and normal model) seems to default the broadcast channel to channel #149 (5.745 MHz) when switched to 5 GHz hotspot mode.
This is a DFS channel in the only recently approved new upper channel range.
Apparently the killer 1535 cannot or cannot use these channels yet.
Actually it won't see it first. Then, when changing connection mode in the adapter property, it is found.
But after inserting the ssid password, access is not allowed and ssid vanishes from list.
Just like a restriction to invalid channels.
The broadcast on 5 GHz itself works, which I proved with another P30 which can access the AP of the first one.
However my notebooks (all using Killer Wireless cards) as well as a Samsung tablet can't.
So resolution could be:
1. Killer adapts its drivers or
2. Huawei defaults to a 5 GHz broadcast channel in lower, more common, 5 GHz band between ch7 and ch60 e. g.
(Or adds a user-accessible menue allowing selection of broadcast channel.)

Realme x2 pro doesn't detects 5GHz wifi routers

My brand new Realme X2 Pro is not detecting my 5Ghz wifi routers. I tried with another realme model also and that also doesn't detects this 5Ghz Wifi router. I tried searching with various other brands phones like Apple, OnePlus and Redmi which shows up my 5Ghz router without any issues. Seems like it's a software problem. Please look into the issue very seriously as many industrial Wifi Routers work in this 5Ghz band.
You are on custom ROM or on realme UI ? What channel your router set to. Which country you use your phone . When I am on custom ROM I can not see routers that have channel over 64 but on realme UI I can .
No problems here and I'm only connected to my 5ghz band,
On EU model with latest RUI update
i hava same issue with you. And i fix it with this severals way:
1. Turn on air plane mode
2. change your phone region to Singapore
3. restart your phone
4. then try to connect to 5Ghz wifi

Redmi 9C connected to wifi but no Internet

Sorry for posting in this thread, but I cannot find a Redmi 9C section. I just bought this phone and I'm trying to use it in my network. I use Ubiquiti products (16-port switches and a bunch of AP access points). I connected the phone via wifi to my network and it has no problem for a while until it just doesn't have Internet connection. It stays connected with its IP address intact but for some reason it cannot seem to reach the Internet. The workaround is to simply turn off the wifi module and turn it back on. It's randomly happening and the workaround is very annoying.
I have a couple of other mobile devices (iPads, iPhones, Android phones, Windows laptops, etc.) and I never experienced the issue with these. I tried connecting the Redmi 9C to all my wifi networks:
Guest wifi with captive portal
Main wifi with RADIUS authentication
IoT wifi with regular WPA2 personal authentication
I tried resetting the wifi settings of the phone. I tried reinstalling the latest MIUI fw/sw.
and the result is the same, every time. At this point, I can safely consider that there has to be something wrong with the phone. I'm not sure if it's because of the MIUI 12 update because I updated the phone to the latest firmware as soon as I got it out of the box. Is this a known issue with this phone? I have another Xiaomi phone (Mi Mix 3) on the same network without any issues.
Any ideas?
Mods, I found the Redmi 9C section and I posted there. You can delete this thread. Thanks.
