Shortcuts

Hey everyone!
I got my kaiser last week and I'm wondering if someone can help point me in the right direction of a list of nice keyboard/front panel shortcuts for either the HTC ROM or even just windows mobile.
I know about holding down H in certain places, but I'm not convinced that the list it shows is the final list. I say this because I am a heavy texter and am getting very tired of having to go into the messaging section, hit the right soft key, hit n, then S, jsut to begin typing in the recipient. I'm coming off a sidekick 3 where its literally just 1 key combo to start a new message. Knowing this phone is a bajillion times more powerful and useful, I'm expecting there to be a similar combo to increase productivity.

Or even a program to add shortcuts?
I find that hard to believe.

HTC - Settings...I've lost track of one

I recently installed Alex's rom, and love it. But one thing I'm trying to get that I had on my other is for HTC Plugin. I was able to press on the icon, and set it to hide the items it displayed. So, for eample, the large clock takes up a lot of screen space, I could have it hiddent, then click the icon for it to display. I can't do that with this.
I thought HTC Customizer must have given me that, so I instaleld it, and it doesn't.
CAn anyone point me to the right app to get that setting capability on HTC? There are a lot of posts out here about the HTC screens, but I haven't run across that description.

I believe you're referring to UltimateLaunch or SPB PocketPlus 4.02, which allows you to install a today plug-in as a tab. Both applications have limited trials.

Yes, in fact I just came back here to say, I found that wsa it. I in fact have SPB Pocket Plus. But I had forgotten that was how I did it.
I'm making notes of all the changes I'm doing, so next time I do a ROM (I'm sure you'll have one I just have to try later ) that I'll be able to recrate some of my stuff.

Uninstalled SPB, taks menu is now gone...

Hi everybody.
Hopefully you all can help me out. I recently installed SPB pocket plus thinking I needed that for their Insight, but I now understand I don't. I went ahead and un-installed the pocket plus before i installed insight, and now the task option in the top right corner is gone on my Today screen. So I can't close programs individually or see whats running. Any ideas? Really don't want to restore a backup as I haven't done one since January. Thanks for any help! -Jeff

May have a solution for you but it may not be what you are looking for.
Here is quickmenu. Quickmenu basically sets your device similar to a PC's start menu. Once you install this cab you will find it under start>programs. After you click on the application you will notice a new start menu.
Possible solution: Start>click on quickmenu>option>X-button of screen:Long-press to close, short to minimize.
After you have this set up correcting, simply click start to view your open programs. Fairly simple I have been using this application since I received my Tilt and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I installed a barebones ROM and found I really liked that task manager in the top right corner....
Do a search on this site for Task_Manager_2_0_30487_2.CAB, it is exactly what you are looking for AND has a couple of other features too.
The difference between this and Quickmenu is that this one doesn't have all the other stuff (although I use quickmenu)....

yea, I'm sort of looking just to get the original one back, I'm not sure what I should do. I guess if I don't have a solution I'll be forced to run a backup I did on sprite. Was hoping this was a common problem but i guess not

I had the same problem when I tried the demo out. After a little research on SPB's forums, it turns out that it is a known problem during uninstallation.
Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you on how to fix it. I was so PO'd that I went and hard reset the phone. I hope that SPB fixes the issue and I'd like to see how support is for WM6.1

I'm tellin' ya, try the one I referenced above, it has just the corner app but where the original has a couple of options above the list of open apps, this offers three little buttons: Close All Open Apps|Settings|Memory %.
This takes up the same real estate the other one uses... give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

I actually tried it, and I love. The only thing I don't understand is the functionally, all I can figure out as of right now that it shows memory usage,thats it. Anyway, thanks for the heads up! -Jeff

On Kaiser You can restore the today quick menu (in the upper corner): in the system settings find "X Button" icon - tap on it and there will be an option to turn it on/off. If its suddenly disappeared that can be becouse of something (e.g. 3rd application) turned it off. Thats happend in my case with SPB Pocket Plus on wm6.

New Diamond, please help

Hey fellow forum users,
I recently (read: last tuesday afternoon) got my Diamond. And I am kind of lost.
First of all, my internet doesn't work. Tuesday begin of the evening it did work. But at the end of the evening and today it hasn't worked at all. @ the dutch vodafone site there are specific things you need to fill in which I did. However it still doesn't work. So I will be giving them a call first thing tomorow.
Second of all, my music. When I plug in my Touch Diamond on the computer, I see this map "content" I click on it and I see "music" so I put an album in there, but there is no music on the phone. Does it have to be converted? because I didnt find a converter on any of the cd's I was given. The same thing with my video. I put a movie on it for testing, but can't find that anywhere on my phone either.
Further I have some requests,
- I am looking for a transparant clock (the white part transparant) so you'll see the wallpaper better.
- I am looking for a way to change the bottom bar.
- I am looking for the best way to use my gps receiver (like a program or something).
- A way to simplify my contacts, I find it very annoying to have all this info. I just want to keep their names with e-mail, mobile phone numer and home number.
- A thing like that weather tab, only then with the time. Don't know if it's out but I find that a really funny feature on the iPods. Perhaps with those huge analog clocks showing the time of 6 countries in the world

p.p.p.s I have these programs on my phone aswell, as a .rar file still though if that matters (he said not), someone adviced me to put them on:
- Mortonscript
- Diamond TF3D Config Setup
- Automatic Wallpaper changer (no use for this yet but I really liked the background he was talking about that changed to the time it was, so like a sun during the day and a moon during the night).
I am completly lost at the moment. Gonna study the books that were packed with it I guess. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Dennis,
I'll try to help where I can. The internet issue you will probably have to sort out with your provider. If it was working and now it isn't it the only thing I can think of is you made some change to the network config. They should be able to get it working again.
As for Music I found the best way to transfer music to the Diamond is through active sync. Plug your phone in to your PC, when prompted on the phone select active sync, then on the PC open up Windows Media player and select sync. Then just drag and drop the music you want on your phone to the sync panel and then click sync. All the music you selected will be transferred to your phone and the album art and everything if it is available will be displayed on the phone.

For the bottom bar you have to be more specific, do you want to change the softkeys??
I find the best GPS software is either google maps or microsoft live search, both are free, google them!
For contacts there are many solutions out there, you will have to look on your own, sorry!
I've seen world clock application but most of them are home plugins, again you will have to look around on your own..
As for the rest, you will have to spend some time reading and searching. I don't advise reading the book that came with it as it contains very little useful info.

Sorry Dennis, as far as i know there is currently no method for changing the tf3d tabs. You can add some but really they already exist just not displayed. You can try SSmapa to replace some of the default functions.

New Diamond owner (from Kaiser)...customization HELP!

My kaiser recently died (after only 15 months of service) and now I'm the new owner of a Diamond (AT&T Fuze). I'm told this little thing has tons of potential...but first, I need it to do what I want! I tried not to bug anybody, but I've searched and searched, and only gotten more confused. So here goes:
1) Is there anything out there that will allow you to add more items (like more of your calendar entries via Calendar+) to the touchflo home screen? I looked, and at first I thought something called Manila was promising...then I realized that was the code-name for touchflo3d itself! And the customization progs I found were more concerned with the order of tabs than adding content to the home screen.
2) Is there any tweak you can make that will lock the device up AFTER you complete a call? This phone is driving me absolutely bonkers by mysteriously dialing someone right after I end a call (I'm pretty sure my case is partly to blame, but I need a fix for it). Everybody else seems to be concerned with keeping the screen ON during the call...I found a ton of discussions/tweaks for that.
3) Has anyone ever dreamed of substituting the Weather Channel for Accuweather in the feed for the weather updates? Just curious...I've never been a big fan of Accuweather...and no one seems to have thought of this either.
Those are my biggies for the moment...hopefully, you can see that I've looked...it's just that I haven't seemed to have made any headway. HELP!
