Presentation - Introductions

I'm David. I used to develop Android apps a few years ago. I'm a server software developer. Even though my professional background, there are many things about the internals of phones that I don't know.

Hi
My name's Igor, and i'm working as software developer, and cybersecurity expert, so if you need something to decompile or reversee engeneer, hit me up.
I'm not very active in these forums, as i prefer to do work rather than wandering forum.
I help from time to time when i see interesting thread, question.
I don't read news often, even tech news, as i know, how it comes it goes, i'm more interested in things that have longer lasting impact. like USA finally nuked North Korea or China becomes ruler of world.
But even if i'm not active, i like to talk a lot and express myself (very extroverted programmer), and prefer some peace time when i can sit in darkness and debug xD
Love not to update software if i don't need to, i update it only if i need features.
Also i'm a linux user who don't know how to use windows for programming, other than using windows for office and games.
Joined here, for no reason basically, just to have an account to reply to some thread i'm interested, and learned a lot along the way.
Yea, at least i'm sincere

Intro

Hi, I'm a hobbyist living in PA and am an end user. Been using PCs since 1987. Wait...34 years??? Unbelievable. I've been primarily using Macs for the past eight years.

Very welcome to XDA. I hope you're going to have a good time here and that you'll find everything you desire. Maybe one of our newest fora is of interest to you?
macOS
macOS is the operating system found on all Apple computers. Discuss anything related to this operating system, whether it's the newest update, iCloud, iMessage, iPhotos, or general troubleshooting.

An old timer does not need to be old in age, Im also much older than that

I'm in infosec and love technology

I've been doing mobile and web app assessments for iOS and Android for a few years. I've attended a number of bootcamps both in person (OWASP) as well as online to learn mobile testing.
Recently, I felt the need to increase my knowledge especially of Android and picked up a moto g7 play which I'm currently trying to root.
Most of my testing is done using emulators in Genymotion. I'm not a developer. I work with both Unix and Windows OSes, but mostly Unix (MacOS, Linux).
I just discovered this site and immediately registered an account.
The site is extremely well organized and the community seems very supportive of learning. I'm really looking forward to learning and sharing.

Good evening everyone :-)

Hello and thank you for letting this old sod join XDA
I'm by no means an expert when it comes to tech but more of an enthusiast although I am the one many of my family and friends come to when needing help and/or technical advice and I even sort out iPhones when a cousin of mine manages to forget her details
I've only ever owned 1 iPhone and that was a iPhone 3 and since then I've been an Android fan when it comes to phones and streaming devices.
I've often delved in and out of XDA when doing any research for gadgets or tech support so at 54 I thought it was high time I signed up.
Cheers.
Pete.

Introduction from an oldee newbee

I'm an old guy who has worked on small computers during the early 80s. I had to learn Unix to be able to run my first desktop which had 2 7.5 in floppies. You have eclipsed me with innovations and technical expertise, yet I'm still here persevering. I'm only entering into the world of Android, specifically to deGooglize to stop piracy of my data.
