Hi everybody! I own an SG N7000 running the stock GB2.3.6. (not rooted) and I am new in this area of Android phones.
Kindly ask you to help please with answers to a few questions I have:
1. How can I change the location where the screen captures are saved from the phone memory to to the SD card?
2. How is it possible to deactivate in the Startup some of the installed applications so that they are completely blocked and are not consuming resources and battery? If possible, would that last over a phone restart?
3. I have performed (several times) a Factory Data reset including format usb storage from Settings > Privacy and I though the phone will be returned to the "new" estate. To my surprise I was able to see the names of the previous installed application by going to Android Assistant > Tools > Batch Installer. Why was the Factory Data reset not wiping out everything in phone's memory, what did I do wrong? What do I need to perform to wipe out all my private data (supposing I will sell my phone sometimes in the future)?
Many thansks for your answers!
My problem is my Data gets Auto shut in background & i dont get WhatsApp messages
how do i keep it on all the time
Please
You are not able to change the screen capture save location. As yours is official ROM,u cannot stop any of the startup apps.
Use wipe function to fully delete the phone or some ppl called it the hard reset function.
Yours Sincerely
Richard

Would rooting on GB 2.3.6. solve both questions or is it necessary to upgrade to stock ICS or even to flash a custom ROM?
If a custom ROM is required, which one would you recommend from the stability, battery and speed points of view, including abilility to wipe data without any trouble?

Did I get it right that running <wipe function> from the booting menu is different than performing Factory Data reset from Settings > Privacy?
Hey I recently used this tutorial /watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=XOJz0-isyas (sorry wouldn't let me post the full link cause I just signed up) with my S3 i9305 and after rooting it, and turning it on, I see no change at all, except for the fact that my SIM card isn’t being read, and my about info says that I have a modified device. What have I done wrong? I’m assuming this isn’t for i9305 and I goof’d up hard. Willing to pay on PayPal with help on restoring this back to it’s default settings.
EDIT: Okay, I've successfully rooted it thanks to this thread;

But still, my SIM card isn't being detected.

Which SIM card do you use? Though I9305 supports nearly all mobile networks except CDMA, there still might be some incompatibilities. You can first replace your SIM card from your mobile network operators and see if it works. If it works, there must be something wrong with your recent SIM card. If it doesn't, there might be some incompatible problems or maybe your EFS was lost / broken.
For the rooting problem, if you have rooted your phone, of course you have a "modified device". So don't worry. If you want to bring your device to normal status, using "Triangle Away" first to reset flash counter and then restore factory settings. You'll find that your phone status restores to normal. Attention please: you'll lose everything after restoring factory settings so please do remember backing up your personal data including your phone book, favorites, apps & data, etc. Also you need to backup everything on your internal SD card 'cause I can't remember whether restoring factory settings will be to erasure your internal SD card. So just in case.
Hope my post can help you.
I Also have made the same mistake and my phone lost my imei Information
If anyone can suggest a way to restore this that doesn't involve a warranty claim it would be much appreciated
This thread has instructions on how to recover your IMEI number. Near the bottom of OP.

Hi guys, I got a big big problem with my K3 Note, I think I went too far with wiping partitions before installing a new rom, here are the folders I wiped:
data, cache, system, protect_f, protect_s, dalvik cache.
After reboot my phone worked just fine but it didn't see the simcard, I thought it's the OS issue and wiped and flashed several times more.
Now when I got into the issue I noticed *#06# returns "invalid imei", after a little bit research I found out it's a common issue with MTK phones and found multiple possibilities for solving the problem, none of which worked for me though, for no known reason ;( What I've tried so far is: chamelephon app, MTK Engineer mode commands, flashable ZIP with the IMEIs, writing it with SN write tool and another program named something like Mauri? if I remember correctly, all done on the stock rom flashed with flashtool, now I'm retrying all of above on a custom rom.
I read somewhere that missing basebands can be an issue for MTK engineer mode, but I couldn't find any more info on the topic
I don't know if it is connected but the stock rom worked much worse than I remember when I first got the phone, it freezes completely(doesn't react to power button, keeps the led light after unconnected from charger, completely no response, I have to take out the battery each time) about once every 3-5minutes.
Another thing is, does anybody have any idea what the protect_f and _s folders are? I think I shouldn't have wiped them...
Any help would be much appriciated, I don't need another bricked phone... ;(
can you access bootloader mode and reflash with flashtools? i assume you dont have a backup? as far as i know the first partitition is responsible for the connection through USB so as far as i know if im not wrong you could reflash these partitions. dont know much however over these mtk devices

freezes and shutdowns, even in lenovo stock recovery are a common problem i have found out. this has nothing to do with partitions in this case however dont know if this can be valid in your case. however in my example it is a fault within some lenovo stock roms. hope anyone can help you with more information
I do can flash with flashtool, at least thats how I flashed the stock rom, but I dont have a backup. Is it possible to use my IMEI with a different backup?
with my limited knowledge over the subject. preloader is the recovery since you can get a connection, what is safe to try without tinkering to much is flashing the latest vibe 3.0 45 dev rom over at needrom.com, since this rom also affects other partitions. once you have done this completely wipe every partition manually sometimes in TWRP i have seen some partitions dont function fully until you change partition format from ext4 to f2fs and back to ext4 and then wipe and repair in my case it has been for example.
as for the IMEI i havent been handson with these subjects so it is better for someone else to inform. This tip can be tried without risk as hopefully the dev rom will restore partitioning, at least it is worth a try.

i cant answer your question on the IMEIs since lack of experience on the subject. however what i can say is that freezing and shutdown in stock k3 notes is a common problem and it is not hardware related. Does this problem also occur with a custom rom such as AOSP
Just to give you my total view on fixing the issue hopefully what i would try is:
1. flashing twrp
2.through twrp flashing the latest dev rom
3.reformatting every partition (meaning cache,dalvik cache,system,data,internal storage)
4.flashing a rom such as androim through twrp
5.trying the lost IMEI patch, input your info
6.to be sure use xposed framework uninstaller cause of performance gains
7.eventually using some tweaks such as l speed to get your device optimal
If the issue of freezing and random shutdown was of the same nature it should be solved 100%
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...ed-thread-lenovo-k3-note-k50-t3158522/page117 latest dev rom
Damn, the official roms are unusable, they keep crashing after like 2-3mins.
Thanks for the link to the rom! I was looking for it for some time. Well, it installed without further complications, now I just need to find out how to restore my IMEIs... Hope at least one of all the methods will work this time.
I've found the answer to all my problems. I need a backup from another K3 Note, manually overwrite the IMEIs with mine and voila, it's supposed to work, at least works on other MTK phones.
If anybody here is willing to help me out please contact me, if you're afraid of sharing your IMEI numbers I can send you mine with an instruction on how to overwrite them, you could save me my phone and some money.

Hi all,
My lenovo also having same problem..
anyone have a working solution..
pls help..

invalid imei number problem solved
1. flash new stock rom in ur device.
2. now you have two options
a. you can update your device. ( do all the updates of lollipop but don't upgrade it to marshmallow )
b. you can use the current rom that you have got after flashing.
3. root your device using kingroot app that you can easily find on net.
4. after rooting install chamelephon app on your device from play store.
5. remove the battery and note down the imei numbers written on back of the device.
6. plugin the battery and switch on your device.
7. open chamelephon app.
8. enter the imei numbers.
9. Hit apply new imei option.
10. wait for 1 min.
11. switch off your phone and then switch it on.
12. your sims are ready to work.....
Note ( do not update the device to marshmallow as kingroot app is not able to root lenovo vib marshmallow updated devices.)

i try already your solution, but still not working for my phone.
Please help
Dear Nechoya,
I got the exact same problem as I followed your footsteps of wiping too much.
Now my K3 note has NO IMEI and sim says NO SIM CARD INSERTED. I have tried all the usual methods mentioned on various threads but nothing is working for me. Can you please clarify what worked for you with some details. I am not a pro and anything from your side or any of the members reading it will be of immense help.
Thank you.
PS I Dont have any kind of backup
Try lord Arcadius' method.

And it is so simple working method that solved this IMEI problem.
Thanks.
Hi guys,
As the title says, will i be able to retrieve my lost files after sudden factory reset? i just saw my phone restarted then saw the emui logo which i thought was updating then all of a sudden asking me all the details which was present when using a new phone such as, gmail account, language, time etc.
I already rooted my phone because that was the requirement of all recovery software(dr fone, easeus mobisave, remo) but haven't got any luck of seeing at least some of the files i know was present before my phone did the factory reset.
I saw this post here in xda about internal memory recovery, will it be the solution to my problem? will it work on my phone? or i should stop looking for a solution?
here's the thread i'm talking about:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705
P.S.
after rooting my phone i disabled my wifi/mobile data, removed the sim card and memory card to prevent updates, etc. thus making it overwrite the files i want to recover <- this was the tip present in all sites i visit looking for a solution to my problem.
I learned my lesson now to always backup.
Thank you in advance guys, I hope you guys can help me, sorry if I wrote a long post asking for a solution.
Hello, First of all sorry for my english.
I have the problem with my phone that the backlight after Huawei Powered by Android logo just turns off and you only see what with a flashlight or sunlight.
Have the device sent in to Huawei because there is warranty (3 months old device) Back karm it with the diagnosis that it is a water damage.
Have opened the phone and then on a flex cable (From dock to the motherboard) seen her something went on it and the indicators are red.
but since the phone is running and also operating everything and even in Fastboot mode the backlight remains on
I thought I could try how to read it to P9 that you can set a jumper for the backlight
That's why I wanted to ask if someone has a diagram or anything else where I have what bridges as a test before I try it with a new LCD.
Or you have another tip
I also read that it may have something to do with the proximity sensor? `
I thank you in advance for your help and look forward to reply
Again I'm sorry for my english because I'm from Germany and have really missed English: p
Because it's an English board, we need to proceed in English, you can write me a PM in German if you want.
It seems that it's a software problem, because on Fastboot and the first screen the backlight is on.
Do a backup of your data if you don't have everything on a SD card. You can do this with HiSuite on PC or an ES Card and the Huawei Backup app.
Remind, that your DCIM directory (your photos and videos) won't backup, also other directories on internal storage like Pictures, Music and Videos. You need to backup them manually.
After this do a factory reset. For that boot into eRecovery and press "Wipe Data/Factory Reset". You need to confirm this a second time, then the phone will do a complete reset.
Maybe it's a wrong firmware, then the factory reset won't work. You can try an OTA update if it's available.
Or you try my guide (tutorial 2), but for this you need an unlocked bootloader and TWRP.
You warranty is lost now after you opened your phone, btw.
Hey, Thx for the Answer but it can closed.
i Selled the phone
Update with HISuite dosnt Helped by this phone
