Hey guys,
Firstly, I will admit from the start my phone has been dropped a couple of times but from around knee height at most...
I bought a contract, of which I am 2 months into, and in the last 2 weeks my phone keeps turning off randomly and wont turn on. Only sometimes when I remove the battery and sim card even, that it turns back on again. Its really frustrating, especially that I'm moving home in the next few weeks and agencies cant call me.
I am wondering if I can somehow go to the store of the company I bought it from and ask for a new one or a different phone?
I am happy to pay the difference for a galaxy note 2 dare I say which was my original choice but the LG was £10 less a month. Only thing is I purchased it online?
Many thanks to any help or advice on what might be causing this?!

A couple drops shouldn't cause this unless you're really unlucky, I dropped mine from the bench on the second day of owning it and freaked though luckily not a mark on it. I would say it's probably a fault so yeah try and return it, if it's bought online get in touch with the customer service team, most sites will have the phone number somewhere or it may be on your invoice. Check for damage or loose connections around the battery first though, good luck!

I was looking around the device but nothing is visible. I went to carphone warehouse store and they said they have to send it to LG. I will be able to tell if its a replacement or not as mine had a little dink taken out of the frame..ahh well, now two weeks of waiting to do.
They offered me a replacement phone as I went to leave like they forgot and I got a simple looking Samsung with chunky buttons! XD love retro style!
Thankyou for the advice,
Marc

You're welcome! When I was with carphone I brought in my HTC desire z (now drowned in the toilet one drunken night) Because it was not receiving messages, and I had updated it to 2.2.1 which made it impossible to root. When I came back to the store after my holiday I was thrilled to find a brand new phone (gave me the old backplate back though, cheapskates) with the original rootable 2.2! I proceeded to root and flash my first ever ROM, cm7, crapped myself cos I bricked it, then realized I had just forgot to wipe data! Booted into cm7 and never looked back, I can't stand unrooted devices! hopefully they send you a new one, that sort of fault usually does get a new one as its hard to detect the source of the issue, good luck!

So I found a SM-N950F/DS on Ebay (They had a few)
When I first opened the Box I thought " Ohhh - did I goof or what - This thing is a weird size!"
I do not like the Curved Screen - but I knew it was curved when I ordered it.
This version has a Holder for either 1 SIM and 1 microSD card - or 2 SIMS
It also came with a Nice not too thick Clear Plastic Case
NOTE: I cannot register it at Samsung's web site (Well at USA's Web site)
I am looking into if I can manage to register it on some other country's Samsung site
It seems fast but I am coming from S7 and Note 4
I sold the S7 and an iPhone SE 64G to help pay for this
I prefer the Note 4 size and screen - but I will see how it goes after a week and report back.
I read a lot on my Note 4 (Both Documents and ebooks) and found it's screen size great, I am not so keen on the Note 8's screen.
So far I am starting to get used to the size.
Battery lasted all day yesterday.
I unplugged it at 515 AM at 9PM it was still going , and I downloaded a lot of data yesterday.
(Large files for some apps I have)
A bit more:
I do not mind the home button being on screen - I have always worried about the Home button going bad. (I only had one that was going bad but still)
(I still do not like the curved screen - I just see no advantage of it so far)
I just discovered a handy setting (for me) :
No more need to slide to answer!
Accessibility -> Single Tap Mode = Allows answer by just a tap vs slide to answer on lock screen.
Keep getting more and more into this Amazing Phone!
(But I still an not keen on size/shape).
It is getting easier to hold now at least - just note ever going to be as nice from reading with curved and narrower screen vs my trusty old Note 4
I have every Note and the size has always been a factor at first. But overtime you become use to the screen size but i must say this is very long phone but videos look great with all the real estate.
N950F/DS is a South East Asia version. I have the same model.
Registered in Malaysia.
More ramblings:
I have CricketWireless.
I setup the HotSpot on my Note 8 and it works!
I tried all sorts of apps and tricks on my (rooted T-Mobile) Note 4 and nothing would work.
(Unless I paid Cricket 10/Month more for it).
Anyway another Great Plus for my Note 8 - Lovin' it more and more each day I use it!

Do you know if the box was already opened and sim activated with the regional sim prior to sale? Let me know asap , gonna get the orchid grey from them hopefully

Mine was not opened.
Not sure what Regional SIM is?
I am in /usa/oh/cmh (Columbus)
By the way I got a 3.99/month Protection plan too!
First Protection plan I ever bought. But seeing as I could not register it with Samsung I thought I would for a year anyway

regional sim, meaning the device had to be opened and a sim card from the region of which the device was bought had to be inserted prior to use.
How many days did it take for OEM Unlock to show up? Are you on a different rom? Can you provide screenshots for proof before i pull the trigger on it?

I just put in my SIM from the last phone I was using (And I have also used a FreedomPop as the 2nd SIM - along with a SIM from US Mobile)
As far as I know it was always there. But I did have one large update after I received it.
No Root or other mods done to it.
I have not turned it on - no reason to for me right now.

Hi all.. new mate 20 Pro arriving next week. Total cost is 300€, cannot pass over it.
I own an iPhone 6s from 3.5 years (glass broken and battery already replaced two times).
Previously owned a nexus 4 for 3 years, so I'm not new to android.
I didn't want to spend >1000€ For the Xs max or the S10+, got this offer and placed the order.
I can also get the p30 Pro for 480 but I valued more the saved cash, battery life and best face unlock (I often have sweaty hands and I'm dreaming of face unlock).
From what I understood you can actually root the mate, right?
I don't see the developing sub forum, why is that?
Sorry I can't answer your questions...I'm new too. Posting here to watch to see if you get any answers.

There's really no point of root in 9.1 and onwards imo, everything is R/O due to the new file system.
I guess there's some workarounds for adblocking etc but for me there's no need for root.
If you want an aosp experience there's openkirin, pretty stable and only need unlocked bootloader.

As said on posts before it's hard to root it because of the bootloader locked, but to be honest I have done root on all my phone and it's the first one I don't need to, I would love to just for substratum but it looks such a pain in the harse to unlock the bootloader so I'll pass....
Arriving on Monday!

Yes it will you just need to remove any spaces that are getting put in the imei when you copy it. It copies it like this 1234 1234 1234 123 you need to make it like this 123412341234123 then it'll go through.

I wish support was as good as their phones. ARGH

Note Ultra here... I just did this, gave them my phone #, got a text with a link, verified my IMEI, and then filled out my address. Got confirmation # and to expect my new headset shortly.

Wife's just got hers delivered today. She did the chat request 2 weeks ago.
Received mine about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Maybe one of the best free purchases I ever made.

I received mine today. The headphones were not in a sealed package at all. They were literally thrown into a yellow mailing envelope and not even wrapped up somewhat neatly. My wife looked at them rather curiously and wondered aloud were they a used pair of headphones
They were free i guess? Anyway that was just my experience and I hope that's not the standard.
I thought the same thing. Inspected mine for any signs that they had been in someone's ears. But yeah, yellow padded envelope..just thrown in. Wonder if its just over stock that they have and will stop sending when they run out

Does this only work for the US? I purchased mine from Samsung Canada via pre order.
I've entered the IMEI they said they don't provide headphones for devices out of warranty. AFAIK these phones come with 1 year manufacture warranty?

Today I received my usb earphones from Samsung.
Many thanks to all xda member help!
I got Mine today and not only where they broken, they actually looked they where used! ???? Thanks for letting me know how much you value a customer that just spended 1300 bucks on your flagship Samsung!
Just got mine and came with additional goodies which I did not expect lol. Was thinking of getting another spen to keep outside and now don't have to.
Akg earphones
USB C to C
Charger
S pen [non-Bluetooth]

How did you all get additional goodies? Mine were crap, one doesn't work, and do NOT look new. The ONLY thing I like about them is that Samsung had to ship the package to Hawaii so sticking it to "the man". I guess. Into the trash they go........
Hello everyone,
A few days ago I was given a sm-x200 at a local tech shop that is google locked. A factory reset was done, but sadly the account is still there and nobody has the original info. I'm very unfamiliar with tablets so I don't know to remove the account. Is there a way to remove this account? I'd hate to throw this tablet away since it's in good condition.

That is an anti-theft lock and the only way to unlock it is to contact Samsung tech support and show "proof of purchase". Back in the Android 6 and 7 days, there were ways to circumvent it, but Google has since made it next to impossible to get around.
