Any workaround to watch HD netflix on widevine L3 - Redmi K20 Pro / Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro Questions & Answe

I've lost my l3 certification for a while now and i still wanna watch hd on netflix. Are any magisk modules or something to watch hd on netflix?

Full HD means L1, not L3
L3 is given by default, for L1 you need a certificate for your phone and ROM

[Q] Prime on rooted KF HD

Hi,
I bought the first version of the Kindle Fire HD (7"). I like to root it for using Google Play Store on it.
I have red, that it is possible to root the KF and to use all the prime features (videos and e-books) without any restriction.
Is this still right? Which custom ROMs support the prime features, too? (Kinology?)
Thank you!
Regards, Michel

Kinology should work as it's based on the Kindle rom, but i am not 100% sure as i never tried kinology. However Cm11 rom works for books games and music but not prime video. I just watch prime videos on my laptop. Cm11 has the android 4.4.4 and overall i think it's really good.
I hope you are talking about the 2012 Kindle fire hd 7'' version though?
you can see for your self the cm11 rom by Hascode: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2543455

Hello and thank you for your response!
CM11 is no option for me at the moment, because I bought the tablet to use prime instant video and have access to the free prime ebooks (with the normal kindle app, you do not have access to them).
So I like to know, if all the prime stuff is working after root the original rom and if it works with the kinology rom?
Yes I own the first version oder kindle fire hd 7" with cam and hdmi output.
Thank you!

Hi! If you root your Kindle Fire you will still have access to the apps and prime videos and books. I have done this and i can verify it works. However not having used kinology i can't say for sure but it is likely that it should work as well!

Thank you very much! This is exact the information I´m looking for.
At the moment I only want to use the original ROM. Maybe later I will check Kinology...
Cheers!

Yes I know, but I bought a used one, so there is only a few time of warranty left...
Btw., is it possible to reset the device to the manufacturer settings, if I do not use a custom rom (only root)? (I have red about unroot, but nothing about reset)

Yes you can do a factory reset. This will unroot your device and get rid of all the media (apps, music etc) and settings will turn back to normal.
However doing this you WON'T renew your warranty. But the benefits are clearing cache!
To reset your device got to : Settings - Device - Reset to Factory Defaults Then there should be a pop up and it will ask if you are sure.
If you want reset click "YES".

If your stock root then leave WiFi on and Amazon will push an OTA update out and your tablet will update.

Thank you for the information! Is it possible to force the OTA update?
The Google Play Store updated some apps, unfortunately the amazon music app, too.
Now it doesn´t work and I need a way to get the original one (either as apk or from reinstall). The factory reset does not help

Problem is solved! I downloaded the firmware from the amazon page, added the extension ".zip", opened it and took the amazonmp3_unsigned.apk from system/app folder, copied it to my kindle fire HD and replaced the apk on it.
Now all works like expected

[Magisk Module] Nexus 6 Angler Widevine Libs

A Magisk module that adds Angler widevine libs to Nexus 6 custom ROMs. This allows video/audio playback with the current version of the Netflix app. (Probably other video apps as well.)
This is my first Magisk module, so it's probably going to need a little "polish". That said, installing a module after flashing a new ROM is a whole lot quicker than manually copying and setting permissions on the needed files.
Files included in module:
/system/vendor/firmware/widevine.b00
/system/vendor/firmware/widevine.b01
/system/vendor/firmware/widevine.b02
/system/vendor/firmware/widevine.b03
/system/vendor/firmware/widevine.mdt
/system/vendor/lib/libdrmfs.so
/system/vendor/lib/libdrmtime.so
/system/vendor/lib/mediadrm/libwvdrmengine.so
I've tested on LineageOS (official download) and crDroid (personal build) and had working video / audio playback on both.
Awesome bro... thanks for your work. Will try it and report back.
Cheers!

Thank you thats interesting!
Does this allow L1 DRM (playback of HD videos).
How did you come up with this list of files?

According to "DRM Info" the security level is "L3" which is only SD quality. It would be nice to get HD at some point, but it's only a 6" screen, and I never noticed....
As for the list of files, I need to do some looking (to provide proper credit). A few weeks ago I was digging around the forum and noticed a couple of the ROMs had working DRM video playback, which eventually lead me to github and a commit the had the list. First time, I just added to my device set permissions and it worked. Since I like to re-flash my N6 quite often (back-up phone), I figured why not make up a Magisk module to make this easier...
Oddly enough, doing a fresh install of LOS, DRM Info shows "L1" and Netflix starts fine, but then hangs on "Loading..." when trying to play a video.

Oh Lineage-15.1 from 04.23.2018 should have DRM L3 already out of the box.
netflix should be working without further modification.

So you can play Netflix HD movies with an unlocked bootloader?
Or is it only reported as L1

Its reported as L1 via the drm info app from playstore, the netflix subscription I have is only sd. I can test for you if you have a way to really test it without changing my subscription.

Netflix cannot be updated even if ctsProfile is passed

I don't know where else to post this. But with the latest beta update for the Galaxy S20+, One UI 3.0 based on Android 11, ctsProfile finally passes on Magisk Manager. After clearing the Play Store data, device also shows up as certified. But, Netflix and GCash app shows as "incompatible". Snapchat and Pokemon Go can be installed, though. Anything else I should do? Also tried clearing Google Play services data.

Prime Video HD

I don't know if it's posted, but I just realized that sideloading the APK downloaded through playstore beta program (another GMS phone) it makes HD work natively on mate 40 pro.
After all we have L1.

Working on Xiaomi.eu (Stable/Weekly), Xiaomi Genuine EEA (Stable) & AOSP versions
After have install SafetyNet module, you must clear Google Play cache and reboot, and looking status in Google Play > Settings > About : You must see "Device is certified" and found on the store app like Netflix, Pokemon Go, etc (only availables if device is certified)
