High brightness mode in rooted phones - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Questions & Answers

In unrooted S20 FE's, high brightness mode can only be used for a couple of minutes at a time before it turns itself off. Do rooted phones using apps like flar2's High Brightness Mode have the same limitation?

LED brightness

I've noticed the LED brightness varies. I like my brightness to the max. I did notice one day that once the Power Saving is enabled, the LED gets dimmer. I have the Power Saving feature to turn on only when it reaches 20%. Anyways, most of the time I barely hit that mark before I charge it up again. I notice that sometimes I will have a very bright LED notification and other times it's not as bright. Is there any way to force it to be bright all the times (except when Power Saving kicks in of course)? Auto brightness on the screen is off by the way. Not sure if that would affect the LED brightness but it's off.
I am pretty sure the notification LED is also controlled by screen brightness. That way you don't get blinded at night by it. Also just so you know with auto turned off, even at full brightness you will have issues in sunlight. If you set it to auto, in sunlight you will get about 30% more brightness then you would just set at max.

I could understand that if the auto brightness was enabled, but it's not and the LED brightness fluctuates.

Always force video enhancer

Many reviewers say that they can't get the 1200 nits advertised brightness. I'm fairly certain that the note 8's display is limited by power consumption limits for whatever reason. However if you use any app that supports the video enhancer the display looks to me to be 2x the brightness. I assume samsung did this to increase the battery life. I want to know if there is a way to always run the screen in its maximum brightness mode? Maybe we could develop an app that always runs the display in its maximum brightness.
I would like to force the phone to use video enhancer in all apps including the full ui.the demo units in the store are somehow overiding the screen max brightness and they stay on the full 1200 nits the entire time.ive comapred retail note 8s with auto brighness turned off and set to optimised and the brightness on full.the demo units are brighter on max brightness than retail units.its like the demo units are somehow forcing the screens to full brightness potential but all the time and thatswithout auto turned on.and to get that type of brightness on the retail units you can use video enhance but that only works for yt and another app i cant remeber.
But the demo note 8 phones are brighter than retail handsets on full brighness
I think this would be bad for the screen with time, not to speak about batt wear

How to Enable Outdoor Mod in Note 8?

My previous phone was J7, J7 have a option for MAX brightness called Outdoor Mod, Now How I can Enable Outdoor Mod in Note 8? Yes I want to get Maximum Brightness.
Setting autobrightness on, gives you the maximum possible brightness under direct light conditions, outdoor sunny conditions
@ winol, not work.
Dr Ketan has released an app to enable full brightness (root only)

Try turning on Hi Performance mode & set the increase brightness setting to max (10%). Works for me without HP mode though. IIRC when max brightness turns on under direct sunlight it only lasts for 15 mins.

"Auto" Brightness

Loving the Mi 8, especially after the 10.1.1 update, however the "auto" brightness Useless. Virtually every time you unlock the phone in low(ish) light its reset to a very low setting. I've had phones from many manufacturers over the last few years and they all seem to have managed to string together a half decent auto-brightness offering.
Does anyone know of this is something they're working on?
I have the same issue
I love everything about the new update but that issue made me hate the update. Anyone with a fix? Appreciate it.
Not sure if the same brightness bug is impacting AOD too, which reacts to light levels but so aggressively at night that it actually turns off.
Auto Brightness on MIUI has always been dodgy as ****. There's workarounds - check out Velis auto brightness - but they're an additional battery drain since the app is constantly running.
I felt like it's not that bad on the MI 8 though.
Cheers
Just giving Lux Lite Dash a go and seems to be doing the trick. You can manually adjust when needed but then commit to memory for the next time a specific lux is reached. I guess over time, like most phones, it will then be customised how you like it.
Will see what battery life is like though...
So far so good. Battery seems to be at the same level with Lux Lite Dash running.
Lux Lite had issues in the end. The max brightness was lower than that of the phone. Switched to Velis which seems to have an option to allow the phones auto (and max brightness) to kick in when there's bright sunlight.

Brightness Mod (Note: not mine. I just read an article)

Brightness mod that supposed to get you an additional 33% nits of brightness? if this works you probably shouldn't use it on a non xl variant.

Its working great on my 4 non XL. I use take to enable it every time the screen turns on because it's disabled after the screen turns off.
It makes the low brightness super low, so disable it when it's dark.
