I successfully upgrade my Huawei Mate 10 using Hisuite.
At first i encountered multiple No Internet connection on Hisuite.
I tried reinstalling the Hisuite proxy and Hisuite app but to no avail.
But i managed to download the EMUI 12 using DNS server.
Does anyone know how to get this working for a C636 region ALP-029? I've been stuck on EMUI 9 (officially) but I want to revive this phone since I like the form factor... I

There are no updates availble when using hisuite- that is the issue. I've tried all different versions of hisuite and nothing pulls the update. In the firmfinder tool there is an EMUI 10 update for the C636 region but it never gets offered. There seems to be no EMUI 12 update for that region code yet, either.

This is very odd - my home region is Singapore> I changed it away from that to something else, no luck, then changed it back. Also no luck. I really have no idea why the update is not being found. My phone has never been rooted.

If you don't have a SIM card in it, try that or if you do try a different SIM.

Hello everyone
After I uploaded to 8.0.0.142 via Firmware Finder I haven't been able to uptade the phone anymore. I know FF has now sone issues doing updates due to how Huawei has changed the way they release the updates, but I can't update anymore the phone regularly. No updates at all...
Any idea?
I had the same problem. Contacted Huawei Support and they told me to send mail with s/n and imei so they can reset OTA updates. I don't think it worked, tried yesterday and nothing appeared, so I decided to try other ways.
I know that my phone is EU version, but it's not from my country, I believe it's from Luxemburg, if your phone is not from country you are in you might try what I did.
I succesfully updated from 8.0.0.142 to 8.0.0.150 and here's what I did:
- Reset Huawei Mobile Services
- Go to HiCare, changed language to German (idk if that's possible it worked, Huawei suppport offered me to change country to Italy, but it didn't work for sure)
- Download and install Fake Location app and allow mock localization in Settings -> Developer Options
- I changed my localization to Germany, after that I checked updates and whoah, there was one!
Try these and if it fails contact Huawei to reset OTA.
edit: You might try to update "System Update" from Huawei, just search for System Update Huawei in Play Store
Hello. I got update today. BLA-L09 150.

What do you mean by "Reset Huawei Mobile Services"? Do you mean uninstall it?
Thanks

sorry, I meant clear cache and app data: how-to
I tried your method but it didn't work for me.
Then I chatted with the Huawei service and they said BLA-L29C 8.0.0.148(C432) has been released today for my phone and I have to wait for the notification.
Let's see if it comes or not!
So, yesterday I tried to updated the phone in a slightly different way via Settings --> System --> System Update, click on the three dots on the top right corner and then click on "Download the latest full package".
Surprisingly it started downloading 8.0.0.150 and it successfully installed it
Waiting finished.

The same thing happened when I updated through FF from Oreo 158 to Pie 161, and my phone didn't brick. I think it's just an error

In my experience it´s the same, doesn´t matter. However non-approved firmware will download completely, verify and fail(not install) without affecting the phone at all.

BLA09-C432 197 just got approved in FF, so i did the eRecovery method, indeed it showed L09 , and flashed the firmware fine
phone is up, device is showing L29 , firmware 197, both sims are working
seems the update went good
197 432 still not approved for me
Says it is approved for me but the DNS changer doesn't work. I can register it but when I do the volume+ and update it says update fails and gives an exclamation mark
It is strange when I try it the dns connection works (firmwarefinder Test) but when I register the update it registers to an ipv6 ip instead of my ipv4 although I unchecked ipv6 in settings. When going to an ip website they also give me the ipv4 address. Only firmwarefinder registers it to the wrong ip so I cannot find update so strage
Firmware Finder notifies that it is not compatible with EMUI 9.
How do you guys update to 197 through FF?

maybe your FF is not latest version ????
for me it didnt notify any issue, there are two 197 in FF, one of them was approved, says its L09 but still works for L29
made the change in the router, registered the firmware and it all worked perfect

The same for me...don't know where's the problem...
I've been trying to download the EMUI 9.1 update from firmware finder. Several updates are approved for installation and I've registered each of them, but I'm just getting "gettting package info failed" in erecovery when trying to install. Any ideas?
I'm afraid that eRecovery mode is not working anymore for force updates.
I used this method and it works.

Didn't need it. I just updated HiSuite and the update was immediately flagged and waiting for me.. Sitting at 50%+ downloaded already.
That's great. I have unfortunately CLT-L09 C782 and gets updates very late so I do it manually

Try doing it through hisuite. My phone just kept telling me I had the latest software version, but when I checked hisuite the update was ready to be installed. What happened afterwards was a totall wreck but thatsanother story.
Hi!
Did you get this sorted?
I'm also in the UK, with c782 region. I have a fig lx1 (smart p 2018) but aside from that having the exact issues as you.

I've been researching ways on how to upgrade my P20 Pro to Android 10. I've tried most of half the day trying to get my phone to find, download and install the EMUI 10 update.
Using Firmware Finder, is says my phone has been approved for the EMUI 10 update. I've tried the hot-spot first and altering the DNS, didn't work. I then tried to alter the DNS at the router, still didn't work and it continued to try and download EMUI 9 in eRecovery.
I've manually downloaded the ROM package and extracted it to a folder called Dload in my internal root storage. I'm not sure where else to go with this..... Any ideas?
P.S Phone is under contract by EE.
Thanks.
EMUI 10 was not yet globally released. The package you found with FF is for Indian region, that's why it doesn't work for you.
There are multiple threads on the forum covering this.
There is now a 10 version on firmware finder if anyone wants a go

Hi guys, about half a year ago, i managed to get google on my phone with the googlefier (or smth similar) method. Its now been 6 months that i havent updated my phone and i think its needed.
My phone by itself doesnt recognise it needs to be updated. So within the phone settings, thats not working. I have to do it via HiSuite and Firmware Finder.
But now the issue is that every update i wanna check on FF, its telling me that it got deleted and is therefore unavailable... I thought to look on the official website of FF to download the newest version but apparently i have the newest version (it didnt get updated for a long time).
So now im quite lost because i really need the phone app to work to see if the update is even viable. I dont want to end up downloading firmware to then read its no good for my phone.
So, what can i do now? Anyone got some ideas?
Thanks!

I'm sort of having the same issue with my phone. A few months ago I was able to downgrade my software to install GMS. It worked and everything ran smoothly.
I got a security warning from Gmail and had to change my password. Since then, GMS stopped working.
I've tried downgrading my firmware once again but every firmware file on firmware finder says "the firmware was deleted from the server" .
I'm currently searching for firmware version ELS-LGRP6-OVS 10.1.0.132

I couldn't find the firmware for my device either, but by googling for my Huawei mate 10 pro build number and emui version : firmware "BLA-L29C185" "9.1.0.341" i found the exact firmware image on Ministry Of Solutions
You can probably find it online as well since Firmware Finder didn't work for me either
