Hello, im a tech enthusiast that is brand new to mobile stuff. if there are any recommendations on where to start, for installing a custom os on android any tips would be great. Sadly im working with an android 6 and a seemingly bricked nvidia shield so options seem limited

I really love Windows Mobile OS but my uncle gave me a Milestone for my birthday! I wonder that could anyone have an idea to set up Windows Mobile OS on my Milestone. I think this is a best combination! Maybe I'm so silly but I'm still hoping.
Waiting for news!!!
This would be nearly impossible if not impossible because of the locked bootloader no custom kernel can be loaded to run windows mobile

The nearest approach for windows is "Android windows 7" from android market.
You can use skin which look just like winmo 7 home screen. It's somewhere here.Search forums...

Thanks for all your helps and advice ! Maybe I will use the Windows 7 skin but I still hoping for a complete setup of Win mobile on my device . As you known, many device which use Windows mobile can use Android as the second OS, so why's the device that use Android can't use Windows mobile? The hardware configuration of Milestone is good enough to run Windows mobile 6.5 or maybe above (like Win 7). Why don't Motorola give an unlock bootloader on this device? It will a big problem for many modders in the world
PS: Sorry if my English is so bad.

I have a solution. You should sell the MS for somebody. According to you buy new smartphone that it is supported by WM. Recommending HTC HD 2 or 7
Android is open source so it can be ported to other devices.
WM/WP7 is not open source and can't be ported to other devices that shipped with a different OS i.e. Android. Even if you could it would be illegal to so do.
Android is so much better than WM/WP7 that you must be on some good w&&d if you think otherwise =P Learn to love Android and flash the good ROMs that people have made for Milestone, or sell your phone to someone who can appreciate it and get something that fits you "needs" better.
FYI a bit of searching on XDA would have answered this question without wasting time.
Hi guys.
I'm a product manager at a UK based electronics company. We have a new Android Tablet launching in Feb, and are very keen to work with an Android developer to customise the UI and develop some custom apps.
The device will have the following basic spec...
8" capacitive transflective display
256MB RAM
8GB Flash
Front facing camera
Android 2.1
3G
If you are a freelance developer, or looking for a full time role please reply with your details.
Many thanks
Chris Mole
I am interested

Well this is a very old thread, but still I am posting in here, so as to be in touch for any future opportunities.
I have been working on Android application development since 4 years, and looking for any such freelance opportunities.
Thanks
My sis has a HD7 and she has asked me if I can switch it over to Android. I am new to flashing from a windows based phone to a Android based rom and I was wondering just how easy this process will be. I am not looking for something that I will have to constantly update, but something to get her from Windows to Android.
I would love to flash Miui on her phone, but I know every week there is something new to flash so that wouldn't do her any good.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

She bought the phone off of ebay and does not like the way windows works. She has another phone that has android but it cant do netflix. I told her that I would try but not sure exactly how to do it.
You can't install android on a phone built for Windows Phone 7... yet. Its certainly possible, in the future, but I don't recall anyone working on Android for these phones.
Buy an android phone is the solution to your problem.
look up craigslist and trade your hd7
a g2 is android and has netflix

Why dont you install 'MANGO' for her? is damn goody now. I have it installed on my HTC HD 7 and am definately getting a Nokia wp7
Got this idea tonight , I was thinking about this and im sure that this as been done before , is there anyways to install windows phone on an android device such as Samsung Galaxy s. Also are there some restrictions that could make this not able to do so.
If someone knows any thread or tuts this would be apreciated.
Thanks guys

Because windows isn't open source, like android, I think that it impossible to port it to other devices.

Not impossible, it's been ported to HD2. And other phones I believe but i know for sure Windows 7 was not meant to be on HD2
I hate windows phone os
I don't think he was asking or opinions of the OS. I think he was inquiring to see if it was possible. I to would like to try this to see or myself and not take others word for it. I will search for a solution and update this thread with what I find.
Edit: It seems that it is not possible currently. However, there are developers that are working on a solution to that problem The main problem is the hardware that was not intended for Windows that is equipped to run Android OS. Hopefully there is spark at some point. There is a lot of talk though that Microsoft is trying to bully their way into having smartphone manufacturers load thee OS and allowing the consumer to be ale to dual boot. That article can be see over at many tech blogs including Znet.
Till now, there is not any known method to do this. Android OS is the best OS in the world. Almost every application is available for android. Also it is most customisable. I would recommend you to stay with Android and install WP launchers to get windows phone like stuff/looks
It is interesting which ideas we`ve got :good:
In my opinion:
Microsoft is something for my PC @home, and Android have to run on my device ...
One of my friends have one nokia with WP7 ,looks nice and works good ,he says - but for me nothing gets about Android , but it is only my opinion
To ask the thread:
I have never heard of any way to flash WP 7/8 on Android devices ...
Only device that got WP7 and did not run it natively were the Toshiba TG01 and the legendary HD2
So sorry, not happening as it's closed source
if its possible on hd2 its possible on devices using same hardware as of windows phone trying to develop a boot loader which helps wp7 bot on our android , any who one can help us with it ???

´cause lagdroid is only for geeks who got a lot of free time
it is always nice to running multiple OS on one phone,i think we need new bootloader same exactly like cotulla has done for HD2,this sounds good to start request to cotulla,i heard he was working for MAGLDR bootloader in HTC M7,let us see
I just write all my own apps for my WP... Android OS is a little clumsy and I think it's ugly... let me know if anyone finds out how to do this... I'd buy a galaxy in a minute if it weren't for the crappy OS.

Is there a way to install lumia phone's os to android devices like nokia or other device
My first smartphone was a Windows Mobile. I got my hands on an android phone very late. But it was actually fortunate as the information about how, do and don't was readily available then. After I started to use my android phone I quickly came to know about XDA because I was very much interested in trying custom ROM (stock based) than MIUI. But I was glad I bought this particular model (mido). It's been 4 years since then but I still have my first android phone up and running smoothly powered by LOS 18.1.
I am thankful for the hard work that all the developers put in bringing so much to masses for free.
