Hi, I was just curious if anyone on here has ever got this message when trying to turn on the hotspot. I use straight talk with verizon towers. I have looked on line for a fix and have found forums with people who have the same problem and no one can seem to figure out if it is a phone problem or a carrier problem. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm having this same problem. Did you find a solution?

I tried having straight talk do some things to try and fix it but they just made it worse. I went to Visible and it works fine now.
I was able to get mine working by Settings / System / Reset options / Reset
Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth / then reboot phone. It wiped out all my settings for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Pain in the butt but, they are easy enough to add back. Hotspot is working though.
both my and my wife's phone, resetting APN & network settings has had no impact.
We're both on Pixel 7 Pro btw, just found your thread via search.

Hi Friends!
Now seems that I have a serious problem, my Kaiser still with the "Cannot connect" problem, displaying the following message in any data transfer attempt:
"Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings. If the problem continues, reset your mobile device according to your manufacture's documentation and try again."
Ive checked the connection settings lots of times, tried all RADIO versions.
Tried setting network band manually for GSM, PAP and CHAP authentication, enabled and disabled HSDPA without success.
The same SIM card works perfectly in another cell phone, but other SIM card (from other operator) didn't work either in my Kaiser.
Ive noticed, doing some internet search, that this problem used to happen in other HTC models, but I couldnt figure a way to solve the problem or what were its true origin.
Tnx in advance for your attention and help!

similar issue, now happened twice
I had this issue once before. After getting the run around, they determined that the radio was bad. I sent it in and they replaced it. Now a year later i am having the same issue. I have noticed that if i am traveling(driving), ocassionaly it will start to work again. I "think" that gprs works, but when it changes to "edge" it fails, or just works for a few hours....
Bye the way, I am using an unlocked phone on t-mobile.
Have you tried running removeHiddenProxy4CWS_1219.cab?
Look it up in the forum, then install it to Device.

I don't think that proxy setting is the main problem... I've tried running removeHiddenProxy4CWS_1219.cab but the problem still exist...

Hmmm
Does this message appear when emailing only?
Or does it appear also when browsing, say by using PIE?
Last week I had a problem where I couldn't email at all on my Tilt nut was able to browse.
I put my SIM card on my E51 and no problems at all.
I went back to my Tilt, tried everything I could think of w/o success, so I finally had to HR and reinstall (this was the 1st time even a restore from a previous good backup didn't help).
oppps - duplicate...

please,How do you fix it? I can't get any of my work emails or download MMS and such because of probaly the same issue?
I have successfully flashed my phone with the CyanogenMod-4.2.4 rom, enabled WIFI and can browse the internet.
BUT, when I try to activate my Gmail through the activation wizard with WIFI enabled I get the following error message: “Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server.”
I am using a T-Mobile pre-paid account, which means I don't have a data plan, so activation over WIFI is my only option.
Any suggestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Frustrating is more like it. I have spent days search this forum and the web for an answer.
I started out with CyanogenMod-4.2.3 installed and I thought that might have been the problem so last night I flashed 4.2.4 and still have the same problem.
I can browse the internet so I have a hard time believing it is a connection problem. I did come across a post earlier this week where someone was having issues with his WPA2 connection. Later today I will change the connection type and see if that fixes the problem.
If you can think of anything else I might try that would be great.
Thanks for the quick reply.

I changed my WIFI settings to WEP and WPA but still got the same error. Any more suggestions would be great.
The problem is probably due to gapps failing
keep trying and maybe it will go through

I finally got it to work and for those who may run across this thread with the same issue here what I did:
I ran across a thread on a different forum that stated the reason I was having the problem was because I skipped the initial activation process when the phone was first turned on. Well with CM4.2.4 and other rooted roms there is an option to skip the initial activation process, which I did.
So I went back and reread the other threads about how to activate your phone over wifi and they all state the same thing, you will need root access, which allows you access to execute debug commands from your PC to control your phone.
So I did a hard reset and re-flashed CM4.2.4. Then after I rebooted my phone I followed the instruction on this thread http://modmygphone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9471 to turn on the wifi. Once the wifi was on I disconnected my phone from my computer and proceeded to activate it, which worked like a charm.
Good evening to everyone.
As the title says I did a hard reset of the device (I had some problems for cell calls with the new update, people coudn't hear me sometimes) and I'm now UNABLE to connect to everything with 3G, the setting is displayed on the active center but I can't navigate anyway.
Anyone else who had the same problem?
PS: In the settings:
3g Activated, tried with both automatic research and manually set up my phone manager;
Power saving inactivated
I tried everything but would avoid to hard reset AGAIN.
Thanks in advantage
Check the APN, make sure it's correct and/or try setting it manually.

Did it so many times, the phone worked but 3g didn't.
I flashed gdr2, interop unlocked my phone, then updated
Thank you
Wondering if anyone has had this problem - suddenly I cannot enable wifi on my turbo. When I switch the toggle to on, it immediately jumps back to off. Tried a reboot and no luck. Anyone know what to do?
I'm having the same problem, but it's only at work! My wifi connects fine at home but at work it will say connecting then just stop. I looked at my advance settings and I see my phone is not showing an IP address. I'm trying to download WiFi Fixer from the playstore and see if that helps.
Update: It did the same thing with Wifi Fixer. Deleted it off my phone. I hate having to resort to outside third party apps to "fix" a phone issue anyway. I'll keep trying...Let me know if you find a fix.

Hi,
Idk if the note 9 forum still alive or not but i decided to give it a try.
As the title said, while using some apps or try to login some website, the wifi seems not to work but with the same wifi, I can watch YouTube smoothly as other device work smooth too.
The problem is gone if I using the VPN or data. I have done anything I can get from the internet, such as:
Reset network
Using static ip
Using dns
Disable ipv6
Reset whole phone
Wipe cache partition
And etc....
So, i wonder if anyone have the same problem and manged to solve it.

My only suggestion would be to mess with some of Samsung's WiFi connection options. Go to Settings>Wifi>tap three dots>Advanced. Perhaps there's an option in there that might solve your problem.
Recently I had a bad issue with my Camera which would open in a split like view & be stuck & not work
Tried a few things & even clear the cache of the phone & camera but did not work
formated my phone & now gives me better battery life & works more smoothly
