I used this guide with success yesterday and I am now unbricked and on MIUI 7.
I want to put latest Miui 8 now but it won't work like yesterday, I get stucked at "fastboot oem edl", it says failed...
Is there another way than fastboot to flash unincremental ROM?

Download rom file (not fastboot rom), copy on "downloaded_rom" folder, go into updater app, select from her file Rom and update.
Yeah, that's what i did and it worked. I was thinking that a jump from december ROM to latest MIUI 8 was only possible via fastboot but it's not the case hopefully.
Now i have problems with Supersu: i have downloaded it from google pay store but the binaries won't update, i understand i have to flash it via recovery, BUT is it bond to be through custom recovery or is there another way?
So yesterday I bought my first Xiaomi phone, Mi5, it came installed with Version: V8.1.2.0.MAAMIDI (MIUI8) which I understand is the stock Global ROM.
Everything was fine untill I disabled some google apps and went to reboot and now my phone is stuck in a bootloop. I have locked bootloader(applied for unlock), no root.
Pressing vol + power enters me to a screen with a phone sketch and usb cable
Pressing vol - power enters fastboot
How can I repair my phone? Shouldn't there be a recovery on a stock ROM? How can I enter it?
Please help
Just flash stock rom.....
Goto fastboot mode and connect your phone to your computer with drivers installed in it
Open adb command prompt, and type adb devices and then it will recognise your device and now type reboot to edl
Now your is booted in download mode flash stock rom by mi flasher.......

So, I was trying to flash a GSI Custom Rom on my device, I tried fastboot flash super ./system.img, and it didn't work. (fastboot screen)
I couldn't boot into fastbootd, because when I tried fastboot reboot fastboot, twrp appeared, device not recognized by fastboot devices, and touch not working.
So I rebooted into bootloader and tried to flash global rom, so I could get fastbootd but I realized that I could just flash boot.img, so I closed MiFlash before it was flashing super partition (bad idea) and tried to do fastboot flash boot ./boot.img.
It didn't work, so I rebooted it... black screen, stuck in EDL.
Then tried to flash global rom in MiFlash again, saw COM4, but tried to flash anyway. And I got "write time out, maybe device was disconnected."
Tried multiple times, the same message.
Holding Power + Vol Down didn't do anything.
And I need to ask you, is there any way to boot into fastboot and then into twrp or something, without Testpoints, and authorized Xiaomi account?
I don't quite have money, or something to repair.
Thanks.
flash this :https://drive.google.com/file/d/1quyYpwV8IkZxnICZ2PEBXduuarxemlBI/view?usp=sharing, it's an engenering rom which works with edl mode. after the flash let the rom boot and reflash the rom you want.
Got the same error,
it flashed "prog_firehose_ddr.elf"
And then again write time out, maybe device was disconnected.

Hi
I had the same problem with k20 pro
The Emmc was distroyed.
So you need to go to a service center.
Hello, press volume + and power key at the same time when the phone turns on immediately press the volume key - but without releasing the volume + or the power key, this will take you directly to recovery twrp or to fastboot, hopefully we will solve it soon

When I plug in the usb cable, it acts as if it's in edl mode. no flash method worked, the only solution is the prog_firehose_ddr.elf file, unfortunately I can't find it for Venus 11

i tried to install twrp with the help of a how to on the web but after flashing it and booting to recovery i had only black screen
so i tried to enter fastboot to fix it with no luck the phone doesn't respond to volume down + power
i manage to use adb reboot bootloader to enter fastboot when the phone was on black screen
so i tried again and flashed twrp image and misc.bin but it didnt work either
last thin i tried is installing boot.img extracted form official rom file >>and that was the end of the line for me
the phone keeps booting to redmi logo and before it even shows the Unlocked lock icon it shuts down and reboot again in an endless loop and i couldn't power it off or enter fastboot or recovery because volume up or volume down + power isn't getting any response

What was your MIUI Version before installing twrp. You will lose your data for the fix. But its the matter of phone or no phone.

You device was global varient or chinese varient ?
You can checkout tutorials on using SP Flash tool to flash stock firmware, or I can explain when I get home. Also use spflash tool with MTK auth bypass or you won't be able to flash.
Had a pretty bad month as I completely killed my phones software. Heck I even deleted the preloader which is the core responsible thing for a mediatek chip based phone to boot. BUT SP flash tool saved the day.
You hard-bricked your phone, there's a guide I've made on how to recover it here.
[GUIDE][UNBRICK] How unbrick your bootloop in MERLIN after flashing TWRP (Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 / Xiaomi Redmi 10X 4G)
If you try to flash the file misc.bin your device can be in bootloop forever, please follow this guide to fix it. It works with: - Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 - Xiaomi Redmi 10X 4G Method 1: Once your device is on the black screen, plug it on USB (try...

It's simple.
Just unplug battery from circuit and plut it again after that don't turn on your phone and boot your phone into fastboot mode.
Now you can flash your phone with miflash tool or sp flash tool.
