Anyone else here on an MVNO like Mint and very recently have their pixel lose its network settings?
I'd been mostly on WiFi this week and didn't look at my phone much when out on errands. When I did, it showed 5G or LTE and good signal, but with an exclamation point in the signal status indicator. And apps would report no internet service.
At first, I thought maybe it was just congestion/deprioritization as others have warned about. But I eventually found the network settings only showing one default APN with fast.t-mobile.com. I manually entered an APN for Mint, following the config listed on the mintmobile support site, and it restored normal service.
Edit: I forgot to mention that my phone still shows the October 2022 patch level, so I don't think there has been a system update this week yet.
I've also discovered that the visual voicemail feature of the regular Phone app has stopped working again. I think it started around the same time it lost the APN settings, but now it still won't reactivate even though data service is working again.
It is stuck in the often reported state: "Visual voicemail isn't working" and "Call voicemail to finish setting it up". Calling voicemail will let me hear messages the old way, but there isn't any extra setup step I can identify...

I bought an AT&T Galaxy Tab. I confirmed when I received it, data worked, and then discontinued my service.
In the meantime I flashed to Overcome ROM, flashed to JPD to enable phone calls, brought it to Canada and used it there with a Canadian GSM provider, and now am trying to reconnect my AT&T service.
I activated my AT&T service about an hour ago, and everything seemed to be fine. I received the welcome to AT&T text message. However, it just won't connect to any data of any sort.
I've reflashed the modem to JPA, which I've seen people say works on AT&T, without any change.
I've installed the AT&T data usage widget, and it says "No Network Available or SIM could not be verified".
My APN settings by default were set with everything normal except for an empty password compared to what I found online. I tried setting a password and no effect.
Under Settings => About device => Status it shows Mobile network state as either Disconnected or Connecting.
Settings => Wireless and network => Mobile networks => Use packet data is unchecked, and whenever I try and change it, it will change to "Turning on..." and then after a few seconds it will change back to unchecked.
All of the Samsung related data connection toggles like on the pull-down windowshade or on the long press of power act like they're changing something instantly, but have no effect.
Anyone have any ideas on what's gone wrong here?
Someone stated earlier that their tab was kicked off of the network as well. I would try a series of restarts to see if the problem persists. If it does, try contacting at&t directly.

I've restarted it about a million times in the past hour. I'll give contacting AT&T a try, hopefully it won't come up that I'm missing something from the stock ROM.
Called AT&T, they knew absolutely nothing, and couldn't help at all.
I suppose I'll try flashing a few more modems, including stock, and then I suppose I might have to reflash to completely stock if that doesn't fix it.
Try the sim card in another phone. They might not have apportioned it correctly.
Any modem will get you at least voice and EDGE, so don't worry about that now.
I have wap.cingular apn for a voice and data plan.

Hmm I'll see if I can dig something up. However, I'm a little unclear on what will happen because this is the $15 AT&T Tablet data plan, and at best I might be able to scrounge up a phone.
The sim card automatically entered wap.cingular apn on my tablet plan as well.
I was soo excited when I found this thread. This is clearly my situation exactly:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1083173.html
I was using the voice APN on a data plan. I deleted all the old APNs, created a new one that is just Broadband/Broadband for name/APN. Rebooted.
Hit connect, and.....it's still screwed up. Now it flickers back and forth on the status page between Connecting and Connected, and the status bar up top reflects the same - I'll see the H with arrows for a half second, and then it'll disappear again.
On the Mobile networks page, Use packet data now similarly flickers between checked on its own and unchecked and gray.
Okay, no idea why, but everything works now.
After Broadband failed to work, I tried changing it to APN Broadband. That didn't work either, so I changed it back to Broadband. Things then started semi-working in that the connection was still flickering on and off, but when it was on, data was actually being transferred.
I rebooted, and now it's fully working. Hope it stays that way. Seems to shift back and forth between H and 3G a lot considering I'm in the middle of a city with full bars not moving, but other than that, all seems well.
It would have been good to know about 1,000 word ago you only have the $15 broadband sim!
Apn is: ATT BROADBAND, and nothing else.

Hmm I have it set as Broadband, not ATT BROADBAND, and it's working for now so I ain't touch it.
Are people able to activate an AT&T Galaxy Tab on anything but the broadband sims?
Yes, I have voice and 3g data by ising a sim from my old android phone.
About 2 days ago I noticed when I went off WiFi and onto mobile data, instead of giving me an LTE indicator near the signal icon, it still has an exclamation mark, like there is no data on. If I pull down the tray, I see the LTE marker, as well as the exclamation mark. I can still surf the web fine, so its mostly an aesthetic issue, however, I'm now having problems sending and receiving MMS.
I called TMobile and they confirmed my APN settings, and kicked me off and back on the network. After rebooting, I was able to get an H indicator, and no exclamation point. At this point I was able to receive MMS, but not send. We tried once more, and I finally got LTE with no exclamation! Able to send and receive MMS just fine.
About 2 hours later, turned on data, and the exclamation point is back! I'm again unable to send and receive MMS. I figure this is probably on T-Mobiles side, but I wanted to see if anyone had encountered this before?
I'm using a rooted XT1095 on T-Mobile in the DC area. APN settings are normal, running 5.0 Lollipop.
Clear your phone cache. I've not seen this and am on T-mo.
If your APN protocols are set to ipv4, try setting them to ipv4/ipv6.
Hey everyone, after checking with Tmo multiple times, they confirmed that there's maintenance going on in the area until Sunday. Had a few other problems since then, but definitely a network issue, not my moto. Disregard, and thanks for all the help!
I thought I had wifi calling working, but now I suspect it isn't. I don't have the indicators others have such as the quick tile or the dialer indicating it is a wifi call. I checked the setting and see that I have wifi calling (wifi preferred) enabled and the cellular network type is IWLAN in the SIM status.
I thought it might be because of Google Voice so I turned that off. I ensured that I have my E911 address set. I had "wifi calling" on my account from awhile back and assumed that was necessary. I just removed it to troubleshoot the issue below and now cannot get it back. Not sure if others have that.
Here is the logcat error message:
Code:
D/PollingManager( 4414): phone state: 0 0 voice home data home T-Mobile T-Mobile 310260 T-Mobile T-Mobile 310260 LTE IWLAN CSS not supported -1 -1 RoamInd=-1 DefRoamInd=-1 EmergOnly=false
I have stock LYZ28E with MDM9625_10649.09.05.14R radio.
Same here. If I try to place a call with WiFi calling enabled the call ends immediately. There's no indication that it's using WiFi calling other than the call ending immediately.
I spent a good bit of time on the phone with a very helpful tech at T-Mobile trying to troubleshoot this. I didn't have the feature enabled on my account so she fixed that and told me it could take a few hours to show up. Still not working yet, but she did mention she was going to start (or add) my number to an internal thread so they could track. I'd encourage everyone having issues to call and make sure you get to the actual tech folks so they have an accurate accounting of the problem. At this point I'm assuming it's a bug but we'll see...
Edit: Rebooted and have wifi calling enabled, was able to make a call and my Google voice number showed up on the other end. In my case it seems the problem was that I didn't have the feature enabled in T-Mobile's system.
It wasn't working at all for me. I even flashed back to encrypted and unrooted and used the factory image. Never saw "WiFi calling" even though it was enabled. Eventually I just went back to Chroma. He said he has T-Mobile WiFi Calling working and it'll be in his next build.

Can you clarify what you mean about your GV number showing up on the other end? GV and T-Mobile WiFi calling are 2 completely different things.

Was clarifying the two do work together as they should, just to rule it out as a potential part of the problem.
My phone is still showing wifi calling as active so the change on T-Mobile's side seems to have fixed things for me.
I'm having issues with WiFi calling as well. Haven't been able to get it to work and bootloader, radio and baseband are all updated and on E ROM. No matter what i do it doesn't work.
I've made a few calls now since T-Mobile updated my account, it's working well on both my home and work wifi networks.
I just ported my number from Verizon to T-Mobile and they don't have service at my house (neither did Verizon). I'm trying to activate WiFi calling but I frequently get the message "Data service is blocked" from "Phone Services". I'm on latest Pure Nexus but I'm not sure if ROM has anything to do with it. I called T-Mobile and they did a network refresh but the issue is still persisting. Wondering if anyone else came across this and what fixed it?
This is from the PN thread:

I have figured out the WIFI calling problem. If you delete the "T-Mobile IMS" APN it will neuter your WIFI calling. This APN isn't selected and I wasn't aware that you needed it since the standard "fast.t-mobile.com" APN is selected. I'm not sure if this is only within this ROM or widespread. Also, I'm wondering if this is the reason VoLTE hasn't been working. I don't have anyone to call at the moment to test this out but I will report back once I find out.
This was hard to find as it changes after a reboot and not instantaneously. So even though I didn't change anything I rebooted then the problem persisted.
Edit: Also, you must have to use the phone app within the ROM and not the Google Phone app or WIFI calling seems to break.
Edit #2: This was also the reason VoLTE wasn't working. All is good now!

The above solution worked for me after I tweaked the APN settings from this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/help/getting-volte-wifi-calling-to-metro-pcs-t3284024 post #4
After that, the T-Mobile IMS" APN was listed and I deleted both entries for IMS. Once that was done, T-Mobile Wifi Calling was back!!

So on Monday ATT decided to deactivate my sim card because they believe my phone is incompatible with their network now. All my bars went to 0 with an x on it and I couldn't do anything on the phone. I went to an ATT store, got them to give me a new activated sim and I put it in my phone and all my bars came back.
My phone says VoLTE again too by the signal bar area. I also tested a text and it went through fine. I received a phone call and while it works fine, it sounds like junk now. Like it is no longer actually using VoLTE like it always has. My phone doesnt seem to have any data however, when it should have LTE just fine. I also cannot make any calls, even though it says VoLTE on the phone, it just re-routes to ATT customer service instead of going through with the call.
When I go into the network area in settings it says no IP address either. I looked and my APN is set to nxtgenphone, Preferred Network Type selected on LTE. Before ATT deactivated my sim card LTE has always worked fine, and LTE should still work fine. It is only the 3G network being shut down. Also given the fact I have the VoLTE icon the phone is apparently connecting somewhat to an LTE network.
So does anyone know how to fix settings to get data working again? Is it just an APN that needs to change? What is everyone else doing with the network shutdown and has anyone else had issues like this?
I had the exact same issue, your issue is in fact APN settings I'm having them as well. Try deleting your current APN and putting in a new one. Once I got a new sim my APN reset I could call but no data and no text. I have half of the APN information in place and have data and basic text, but once I input the MMS port the APN data disappears still trying to figure that out. Not sure if anything I typed is helpful but at least you know your not alone with a mi11 on ATT and it can work

Thanks for the reply. I tried deleting the MMS port and also the proxy just now and data didnt come back. I will try searching around for more APN info for how phones are supposed to connect now and see if I can find anything.
It looks like from what I could find that it is due to an IMEI whitelist ATT has, blocking data connection on any device not in their whitelist. The solution seems to be to root the phone and change your IMEI to a whitelisted model.
While my phone is rooted my IMEI is not cloned I definitely would not share my IMEI with ATT. When I got my sim card yesterday I had the attendant activate but I did not provide my phone so he did not get the IMEI from my phone. If you got a sim and they input your IMEI that could be a problem possibly. Just a suggestion to try and get a sim activated at a store without your phone.
I had also heard that most ATT MVNOs were not having the device whitelist forced on them yet, so I went and tried 2 different ones yesterday. Both failed to get the phone working on their network with their sims.
Before I went through the hassle of rooting (and most likely losing payments) I tried ATT again anyway. I used their online customer service chat and the first person I chatted with said he could help me with the lte data problem and the IMEI issue. I was skeptical, but he actually did fix it all up. He just needed my sim ICCID and my phones IMEI1 and he submitted the info to their backend people for adding to their system. It took almost an hour and a half for it to get added, but overall it was a pretty painless process and I was browing the web most of the time while waiting in chat. I now have LTE data again, VoLTE again, and "5G" too (which ATT 5G is really just one or two more features than normal LTE and is no faster in speed and uses LTE data bands). I attached a screenshot showing the data and VoLTE working on my phone. The first signal is ATT, the second is TMobile (which has always worked and never had an issue, their 3G network shutdown is going on for another 4-5 months)

Happy you are back up and running and I'm glad that you found someone at ATT to do the fairly easy work of getting your IMEI cleared. Lots of people have been worried about devices not working on ATT because of this whitelist issue glad to see there are workarounds just wish ATT didn't make it so convoluted.
