I would like to know what happened to my Screen of Mi 9 Lite. (Screen is not original. 3rd party AMOLED/OLED).
It has vertical lines as seen in the photos.
First a single pixel line appeared and it was visible when red and blue (and combinations of it) were displayed. Not in green (and black).
But now, there are multiple lines and also it is seen when the display shows full black.
When the bottom middle corner of the screen is pressed, where the bottom of the line is, then the lines get changed. Usually the number of lines get increased when pressed, and decreased when released.
Also the number of lines do change from time to time when the screen changes! Sometimes ~ 10. Sometimes ~ 1 (rarely).
Display is about 2 months old. After couple of days from the installation, it suffered from a compression. There was a screen protector and it was broken. Display was okay at the moment. Horizontal lines appeared after a month from that incident.
What is wrong? Possible fixes?
Looks like display is broken or badly connected to motherboard. Probably it's broken.

Has anyone experienced a shift in color on their screen? It started with a small spot about the size of a dime (Middle left side) that really shows up on a white or light screen. It has now streaked up about 2". This was not present during the first few weeks of owning the device. I will post pictures later.
This has also appeared on a friends nook (Same spot and position). Not as pronounced as mine but his is still pretty new.
I'm randomly getting a split screen, half of the screen turns upside down, half stays right side up. Screenshots do not show it however. I have to turn off the screen for it to go away. Happens periodically after several minutes of use. Any thoughts?
looks a bit like a slot machine yes? I have a vertical split where the the image is not flipped, but it does scroll up/wrap around the screen so that the notification bar is somewhere in the bottom half of the screen and the bottom of the image is wrapped around to the top.
I only really get it on custom kernels, I reported it to the maker of Elite and he said from what he has heard its a hardware issue and the only fix would be to RMA. Haven't done that yet as it fairly occasional, but plan to soonish.
kinda sucky how we are getting screen issues on this phone, i also have a screen issue with vertical gradient line appearing on some material themes.
sadly i cant RMA it. if i could i would have, i have ordered it all the way from the Middle east. :/ i will stick to the phone for a while longer as i love it.. and hoping that the line somehow dissappears by its own.
Hi guys,
One month ago, I observed that, sometimes when I saw some websites with the background on white, lines on horizontal mode appeared. Now, I see these lines everyday also in gray background screens. But these lines don't appear when the color is black (I think about the AMOLED screen).
Is it normal?
Have I to call support service?
Thanks!!!

I just got a sm-t813, my girlfriend too, on white background with low brightness i can see 3 brighter white lines that divide the screen in 4 when placed horizontally. The 2 tablets present the same issues, so it seems by design. Tablets have only 2 weeks of usage. Hope this help.

The same that I can see...
Usually, with an AMOLED screen after about 2 years or so, you can start to notice, on a white background if you look VERY closely, some lines across the screen. That's normal. What's not normal is it happening this much after only about a month...
My 2 cents is to
1) factory reset and see if that helps
2) Send it in for warranty
Story: I have 2 horizontal stripes on my touchscreen, that do not react on touch. The Touchscreen service menu lets me "clean" the touchscreen to show exactly these 2 bars that cannot be touched/touch doesn't react. Hence I decided to change the display (LCD+digitizer, as separating them is to difficult for me)
Now: Phone disassembled to the point, where I can unplug the display on the back, remove it and plug the new one in. Working so far.
Then I try to glue the new display in (display glue tape applied) which means I have to bend the cable a bit to go under the display. Before I push it firmly on the glue I test it again: LCD not working anymore. I see vertical artefacts.
Basically: The boot screen shows the white "SONY" centred on black background. But there are also artefacts from the "SONY" to the top and bottom. Like lines of error pixels with random colors. Not completely solid but visibly exactly where the "SONY" is.
Those lines are not static. They appear where bright objects are and are always top to bottom. Start is similar to this (during run it is not as bad as in the video, for me it is mostly e.g. when the symbols from the launchbar (WIFI, GPS,...) or the battery is shown) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2kBUXdGJtk
This happened to me twice now and I can't figure out, what I could have done wrong. Does anyone knows what happened here and how to avoid it?
Hallo.
I gave my old Xiaomi Mi 5 to my mom and yesterday she told me the display was showing these white horizontal lines + burn-in (screen ghosting) as you can see in both video and picture. The white lines disappear after a few seconds but show up again when I touch the screen. Is there anything at all that can be done to fix this without having to replace the display? I'm really sad. I can't even eat anymore. Thank you.
PS: I have tried those color calibrations/RGB settings. No good.

it seems that you have to change the screen
Definitely hardware problem.
Buy a new screen or a new phone.
