For the last 6 months or so, I've experienced many lag issues with my device. At the begging, I had a CM11 ROM installed on my phone, so I decided to revert back to the V20B official european firmware because I thought those lags were related to the ROM. But nothing changed, and as of today I still have responsiveness issues.
This lag issue appears from time to time, and makes my device basically unusable. It feels like the whole CPU is hogged by an application, or like I underclocked my device to 53mhz on purpose. During these lags, trying to wake up my device will take up to 5 seconds, and navigating the main screen will be nearly impossible. Also, my phone will get very hot which would imply that my CPU is indeed used by an application. Sometime the issue will disappear by itself after a few minutes, but I usually reboot the device which temporarily fixes the problem.
I have tried to disable LG MLT, and I think it helped but the lag still occasionally occurs.
I don't really use third party applications either.
I think these lags might be related to the Google Chrome browser, but it doesn't make any sense as it is an official app.
Anyway if any of you have an idea on how to fix the issue or how to find the application/service/whatever hogging the CPU I'd be grateful

I did experience such lags in CM11 after a few days of usage.But talking about stock, these freezes sound bit weird.You might want to check your installed apps.Download watchdog lite from play store and let it watch on agressive mode.Also check if your phone is hot when these freezes occur, might be the throttling kicking in.
I also experienced this kind of lags due to bad gapps I had installed back in the day, though stock ROM comes with gapps so it's not that.

I installed Watch dog lite and I'm now waiting for an alert. I hope it will give me the name of the culprit
If you are rooted which i assume you are. You can try app from playstore called "lagfix" (fstrim)

nyone experiencing random freezing in COD Mobile in Mi 9 with Mi11/Android 10? In my case, last two weeklys of xiaomi.eu.
I was staying with Android 9/Miui 10 until google maps history gets solved on Googles's side, but tried this latest beta, and game start frozing randomly, while in game and often on battle end while "saving results".
Tried with and without game accelerator, root and unrooted.
Back to 9.8.1 and issue is gone.
I don't have such issues on 9.10.10.
No issue on 9.9.27

Magisk may be causes the problem.
I have gone crazy whith this, I reset my OP5, I formatted it and installed Android 10 and it worked, I was installing things until the crashes reappeared.
I know it was because of Magisk because when I installed it, I had problems again but I read in other threaf that changing the name in Magisk options was the solution

Hi! I have a big and annoying problem. I have a Redmi Note 10 Pro phone that I upgraded from MIUI 12.5.1.0 to 12.5.2.0 2 days ago and have been struggling with lags ever since. I've tried everything, including a factory reset, to reinstall the phone from the recovery menu, but the problem didn't go away. It’s a pretty annoying problem that I can’t normally use my new phone I bought recently. Is it possible to downgrade MIUI from 12.5.2.0 back to 12.5.1.0? Or what should I do? Please help!

The same experience here, the device's performance has dropped significantly since updating to 12.5.2.0 and has terrible lag opening apps.
I'm still on 12.5.1, but have noticed that this broke the Google clock alarms - had that been fixed with 12.5.2?

I don't know. Since I have already managed to resolve to revert to MIUI Version 12.5.1.0.
Does yours work with Google alarms since you went back to 12.5.1?

Weird... I've reverted to the Xiaomi click app, but that doesn't give access to YouTube music as an alarm time source.

The whole MIUI system is a mess. That's all I can say... I don't understand why there are so many bugs in the system with a phone like this. Xiaomi Developers should pay more attention to this.
i've no issue but app bugs cannot solved
i decided to go with xiaomi.eu still waiting to unlock the bootloader , looks like there are many differences
I am on 12.5.2 and I have no issues.
Turns off and on and works perfectly.
UPI apps is not working in dual app mode. Does anybody else also facing it? Any solutions?

Yeah, I am facing couple of issues.
- Dual apps is not working properly in some scenarios like Logs out, UPI app not working etc.
- If you uninstall an app by dragging directly from app drawer, its say apps uninstalled but nothing happened.
- I observed black crush issue while watching suits on Amazon prime.

Which rom u r using ??? I want to install custom rom too. But afraid to do so.... I get very less time to experiment with roms coz of my job schedule.... Need something with minimum or no bugs
Since the update to Android 12/OneUI4 my S22U has on at least 4 occasions gone into a full hard lockup / non-responsive and needed to be hard-rebooted and has been so laggy / bad battery etc
Anyone had a better time of 12 by doing a clean install without backup ..... it's a total pain to have to do this without using a backup and will require many hours of faffing around with both personal stuff and Knoxx (my employers BYOD solution)
Has anyone done a clean start and found less issues -- i know OnePlus had a load of issues with their upgrade so it seems upgrades aren't amazing this time around)
I did a clean install of Android 12 (factory reset, no reinstall of apps from backup) and have had no issues whatsoever.
I installed subsequent updates of A12 without reset.
Yeah ... my phone completely locked up when i hit "hang up" on a phone call .... the line didn't disconnect, the screen went weird, pressing the power key just opened the camera and no matter what it just didn't respond ... Same thing has happened now several times along with suddenly the phone going down to around 15-20 fps even in the user interface for about 10 minutes before seeming to recover
A factory reset is in order after a major OTA firmware upgrade.
It may fix it but there seems to be many issues with this upgrade. Scoped storage is fully enforced and not compatible with many older apps. It's also eats cpu cycles and slows the device when it's active.
SmartSwitch may or may not work. It sometimes creates conflicts by importing erroneous settings for the new OS or device. Sometimes it does work fine. I inadvertently used it to backup apps while transferring homepage settings from Android 9 to 10 on my second N10+, it worked perfectly.
Never rely on it alone to backup critical data!!!
Hello, I'd like to asked if you guys also experience this:
Whenever I try to maxed out the volume and play something whether its a video or music, the phone just reboots right after. Though I wouldn't say it is only limited to maxing out the volume I also experience some reboots whenever I try to call and I feel like it reboots when I overwork the phone by opening "heavy" apps. Overheating??
Idk what happened but before I noticed those kind of stuff to happen in my Redmi 9. I just previously fixed it from bootloop w/o recovery & w/o fastboot due to downgrading from MIUI 13.0.5 CN ROM to MIUI 11.0.4 GLOBAL ROM.
So I was wondering whether it was a software issue or hardware issue in this case the battery. Idk if someone had ever tried this but I've watched a similar problem got fixed in youtube w/ Redmi Note 9 instead
with soldering or reheating the fuse within the battery.
