Magisk root works on my main profile and I have enabled Multiuser mode (Independent) but I'm still not rooted on my secondary profile (tested with root checker) I don't even see magisk manager on secondary profile what am I missing here?
Install the Magisk Manager on the second user as well and you should be good to go.
It doesn't work

Ok... So, I tested by creating a secondary user and installing the Magisk Manager and had no issues. Didn't do any extensive testing, but Magisk was recognised as installed.
You'll have to do some more digging into why you might have issues, but I'd start by looking in the settings for the Manager installed on the main account and make sure that "Multiuser Mode" is set to allow root for secondary users (either owner managed or independent).
1) logged in as primary user > Magisk > Settings > Multiuser Mode > User-independent
2) reboot
3) log in as secondary user > install the Magisk app > hopefully
There is also an option "Device Owner Managed" but I don't know what that means and how that works.
Hi all, i just flashed LineageOS 16 on my S5 Mini SM-G800F variant.
I like the Rom and i wanna keep it, so i want to get or activate the root access on it, but i don't know how since i've searched everywhere, but there's no solution so i decided to make post here.
1- Flashed rom
2- Flashed GApps ARM 9.0 nano.
3- Flashed Magisk v17.1.zip
4- Rebooted.
Everything works fine, but the Magisk is missing.
I enabled Developer Options but there is no option for the root access.
I find an option for the root access only when i open Settings app and type "root" in the searchbar.
What i get when i hit "root access" , the "Trust" app opens and there is two sections and few more options in it which is:
Status
SELinux
(Disabled)
Root Access
(Disabled)
Android Security Patches
Platform: up to date
Vendor: up to date
Encryption
(Disabled)
When i hit on Root Access, i get following message:
"Root access allows the bypassing of security restrictions.... etc.. which can cause damage to your device or OS.
Can someone help, please?
I don't know what to do.
Hi!
The lineage developers recommend this:

Hi folks,
I would like to use MAGISK on my Samsung "S4 active" phone, running with LineageOS 14.1. The root option is currently enabled in the developer settings and SU is working. TWRP is installed and the bootloader is unlocked. Now I would like to switch to MAGISK in order to be able to play Ingress without loosing the ability using Titanium-Backup and Viper4Android.
- Must I perform a factory reset to make MAGISK up and running?
- Must I uninstall SU before I'm trying to install MAGISK ?
- Must I disable the root option in the developer settings ?
- Other things I have to be done as prerequisite ?
Thanks
Tom
I have already rooted my owner account as of now I am on Android 10 root with magisk I have multiple profiles for experimentation I need root for my second account but I do not know how to get it can somebody help me.
In Magisk Manager, go to Settings, scroll down to Multiuser Mode, and change those settings. I haven't tried this myself though
After repeatedly selecting every system app that I wanted to hide magisk from .....apparently certain system apps will never be hidden in xiaomi phones with MIUI ( that is stock xiaomi ROM )
In my case MIUI 11 and Android 9.
So if I understand this updates the Magisk.DB file. What is preventing it from being updated with everything that I want ,to be chosen. Regardless of how important the system apps I want hidden are- no functionality can be compromised because the app doesn't know that there is a Su binary
What should I be doing ? Should I I somehow manually update the DB file
Why does this happen
Is there some kind of a planted logic in all MI u i ROMs that if there is magisk installed automatically force refresh the hide list as per their prescription and not users ?
