Hello everyone. Currently my S21 Ultra receiving an error "USB Device not recognised". I tried fixing via "Developer options" but still not recognised. Updated the drivers, still not recognised. Hard reset but still not recognised. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as i am unable to Flash due to device not being recognised.
1. You can flash via net odin
2. Does dex work?
This been reported several times, no solution.......
USB problem - PC doesn't see/connect to my mobile.
I've got this problem since last year. I have read about the issue on the internet, no solution provided so far. When I connect my mobile to any PC, it says 'check your charger connection' as on the screen below. - I can only transfer files...

likely driver issue
Open control panel on PC → Device manager → universal serial bus controller
you will see multiple component under this. Rt click on each and select to update driver. If driver gets updated then reboot PC and see.
Thanks. I did all driver updatea. Reinstall etc..still no luck
I've always held "not recognized" as a failure to get the device descriptor.
This is a basic failure of USB as this is the first transaction.
Tyr different cables, different ports. It can be power supply/cables/interference or that the USB on your device was never configured.
A USB hardware protocol analyzer would tell. Just kidding. But not really, it would help.
I made a device that doesn't respond to device descriptor requests...
Thanks for your feedback. Can we discuss more the device to which you refer

No, that was just to demonstrate that what you're looking at is a complete failure of your device to identify itself.
Try to get your device recognized as something. Try all the combinations of reseting while holding volume keys.
If something works, then we can rule out hardware problems.
Try turning on/off/on Usb Debugging.

Hi to all,
I hope people here can help me solve my gt problem connecting with my pc (win7), I already download this Samsung_P1000_USB_Drivers and install to my computer, still Kies cannot detect my tab.
Some say you don't need any driver if you're using Win7 but why I encounter this problem.
Some say you need to turn off the USB Debugging before you connect your tab from your pc but still I encounter this problem.
Some say install the driver from Kies built-in driver but still encountering this problem.
My GT O/S still stock, its still intact since I out my GT from the box.
Please share me your experience if you encounter this problem and how you solve it, I can't flash any rom because my pc can't detect my tab at all.
Thank You and Regards to all.

Guys need your help regarding my problem.
Try to uninstall the drivers. You can do that with many uninstaller programs or you can use system restore. Go to settings and set galaxy tab connectivity to samsing kies. Connect your galaxy tab (make sure to disable debugging mode). Windows will install drivers which might take a few minutes. As for odin try to go to downloas mode by holding volume down and power button. If you get a yellow shade with com#. Your tab is recognised and connected.
Hope it helps!
Same issue with Kies not detecting SGT
I'm new to the forum, and a new SGT owner, so my knowledge is limited. I have been researching these forums along with some help from the unlockr.com. Kies would not detect my tab. I downloaded the Samsung New PC Studio, and was able to have my drivers downloaded through this software. My tab is now rooted. I still don't know what else to do with the rooted tab at this point, but I'm still researching.

Hi dxwilliams40,
What Samsung New PC Studio version you have?
Can you give me the url where you get this software?
Also, can you give me the procedure on how you get the driver using this Samsung New PC Studio?
TIA.

Yes, it goes to recharge mode, this is the only thing I can only use between my gt and my computer is to recharge.
To all XDA member's who have this problem before and solve it, please share it to me, I can't move from here I have a good device but I can't maximize the use of it.
Regards to all,
Yes as a matter of fact i have more ideas. Press on menu button while on home screen, go to settings then wireless network and then choose usb settings. Choose ask on connection, if your tab is set on kies. If its set on mass storage set on kies, we all know windows installs no drivers for mass storage. Also try connecting tab on other computer and see if it connects preferrably with other OS. Sorry to disagree still doesnt seem worrying because i faced problem with a samsung mp3 player which used to give me hell with connecting using mtp (media transfer protocol). If it connects to other computers download mtp protocol from microsoft website manually. I will dig it up for you if you report that its working on other computers. Also will dig drivers from my own W7 machine 64 bit to see if it helps.
EDIT did a quick search online. Connect your galaxy tab in kies mode WHIlLE installing kies. Seemed to help many android galaxy S users.

Hi DarkPal,
I do 1 by 1 your advice but in the ended it's still the same, I installed MTP from your link but my PC can't detect my GT.
I attached my GT from our 2 laptops both Win7 but they can't detect also my GT.
Hope you have more plan
TIA
Still more plans. I have phd with samsung devices not connecting to many windows pcs (dunno if faulty drivers submitted to microsoft by samsung or issue in an end user enviroment. Anyway few question: is your galaxy in usb debugging mode? Tap menu then choose settings applications development. Make sure USB is not in debugging mode.
EDIT: is the usb charging fine? Is there any USB detections on tab screen. I read reports of faulty usb cables. If you have another SGT cable try it and see if it connects.
If uave the luxury connect other mtp devices like ipod or ipad or othe media players. This will sure exclude a pc or OS problem.
EDIT2 Here is a guide i followed back in mp3 days:
Go to samsung support site and download latest samsung kies (must be latest) and uninstaller package.
If u still have kies uninstall it with this package. If not run it anyway to remove any residual files. A cleaner program will clean as well.
Reboot your pc and your SGT.
Install samsung kies (make sure you run it as an administrator whether setup or program launch).
Now in your galaxy tab make sure usb settings is set to kies.
Fire up kies and connect your galaxy tab.
If there is no signs of connections. Access device manager and look for any imprperly connected device (would show as a yellow exclamation mark or saying unknown device). Reinstall kies USB driver. Disconnect tab and reconnect.
Few important notes:
Connect tab directly to the pc not via usb hub or similar apparatus (tab takes power from pc as well as data).
Update your windows media player to latest version (i know its bloated and hogs system resources but it has latest mtp repositories).
Always execute command as an adminstrator. Whether launching or installing.
I had the same problem long time ago. I solved changing the USB port. Befor I used the front case one...the I switch the port in one of the back case and it was working without any issue. Try this. I hope it help!

Hi Again;
Debugging mode is off when I tested all your instruction on my sgt.
I uninstall Kies restart, download from samsung Kies 2.0.0.11014_49 and install it again, restart, test sgt fail again.
Win7 detect my sgt when you put on usb.
My sgt can recharge on my win7.
iPhone 3gs, iPhone 4, Blackberry 9780, iPad Wifi+3g all working with the same usb I use for sgt.
I hope you still have option that we can test
it look like you having problem with the data cable..... do you have another cable to try!
Well 2 options. A trick I never understood by Samsung support. Remove the Cable from PC while on keys wait 30 seconds and repeat procedure 3 times. Hopefully it will detect.
Also Cable could be the culprit as Ironically All SGT don't have exact same cables. You have to make sure you buy exact stock cable if you need a replacement. Ebay cables fail almost always even if it does the charge function.
you said w7 detects SGT when you put on USB. What type of detection Care to elaborate?

" USB Device Not Recognized " error occur when you put sgt on my computer.
And the removal of USB cable doesn't work also.
This is the original cable came from sgt box, it's new like 3 months only, anyway I will try to buy another cable and I hope this will work.
But anything you want me to try much appreciated, dunno where I can find original sgt cable, specially you mention buying online we don't know if genuine from samsung.
tnx man.
If device shows in device manager with yellow excalmation mark right click and uninstall unplug and try to plug the device again. And I Think i found a solution as odd as it seems first remove all usb devices connected to your pc ,flash drives, phones, pdas etc . You can even uninstall it by removing these devices from the device manager to uninstall these drives completely so they can be identified newly. Here is the weird part shutdown i mean pull the plug on computer wait 5 minutes to restart. A cold boot forces computer to reidentify usb ports. Reconnect and see if it works.
Also update your pc motherboard controllers from your pc driver site if w7 doesnt natively identify it.
EDIT follow this link instructions: www.ntcompatible.com/Desperately_need_help_---_USB_Devices_Not_Recognized_t32356.html. Seem to helped others.

Still not giving up on you my friend. Try to put the tab in download mode (power and vol rocker down). Reboot computer and in device manager uninstall it. Disconnect the cable and reconnect it.

Hi to everybody!
I got used i9000M (Canadian) for my daughter (I have LG 3D so not really newbie to Android). It's in factory default state with 2.2 Android.
I tried to update system using Kies but have problem connecting my phone to PC. If I just boot phone up my Win 7 can see it (but not kies). I enable USB debug and Kies says something like "mode is not compatable". Should I untick USB debug and enabler KIES mode under Wireless?
But once I unplug it and plug back I get error 43:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
I read and read and read... I'm ready to try odin but I don't know what exact ROM fits my SG... Also lots of stuff is connected to megaupload...
Thanks for any links in advance!
There is an option on Kies to reinstall drivers. I would suggest trying that. But above all, I would advise on rooting the phone and installing a custom ICS rom, like SlimICS. It will add tons of features and make your phone faster while conserving battery life. If you want to transfer files, just plug your phone in, and enable USB Mass Storage mode and you can just drag and drop files like you do with normal flash drives.

Thanks for reply! But here is the strange thing :
If I set USB debugging mode on the phone, my PC sees it with no problem and I see two devices in Device Manager under Portable (and they are identified as Samsung ...) But in this mode Kies doesn't connect - I get message like "unable to connect, switch phone to Kies mode ".
But once I turn debugging off, turn Kies mode on and connect the phone, my PC sees only one device and it's in USB group (in Device Manager). And now I get error 43...
So I think it's not the physical connector (otherwise I would not be able to connect at all) but rather old system - 2.2
I'll try to update it with Odin and let you guys know the result.

Also try different usb port or computer. Make sure to kill all Kies processes when you using Odin.

Guys, thanks for help! I really appreciate it!
I installed SlimICS - phone running nice. But my both computers (XP and Win7) give me errors...
Funny part is - Odin works perfectly and I can see my phone in Device Manager with no problem!
Anyway, it's not REALLY big problem, rather inconvenience.
I don't know if it matters, but I also noticed that my AC charger for LG doesn't charge i9000. Weird? Do they have different pinout?
Thanks again.
It's me again
Just for fun connected the phone to old Toshiba laptop at work with win XP, without installing any Samsung drivers and ... And Toshiba recognized phone and showed me two drives - internal and SD!!!
My home computers still giving me grief... Both systems (xp and wib7) stubbornly don't want to install drivers! They put some Microsoft driver from 2007...
I'll keep fighting (installed Kies several times, just drivers - couple versions...)

I am having issues with my Nexus 6. I am unable to get it to connect to any computer. Windows says the device is malfunctioning, but it charges okay. Windows gives the error "Device descriptor request has failed." It doesn't matter if I'm booted, in fastboot, or have the phone off, it gives that error.
What I have tried:
Toggled USB debugging, MTP, and PTP.
Nexus Root Toolkit to try to install the drivers
15 Second ADB Installer by Snoop05
Alternate drivers (Naked, Generic, PDA).
Each time I have tried new drivers, I have checked to uninstall anything using USBDeview.
Tried "Updating drivers"
Tried three different Windows machines.
Tried different USB cables
USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports
Cleared cache partition
I think I am down to two things: Factory reset or draining my battery all the way and letting the hardware reset itself. I am not confident that factory resetting it will work since this same message pops up in the bootloader.
I have researched the hell out of this and one person in this section was having similar issues but got it working when plugging it into their USB 3.0 port. If those last two things do not work, then I don't know how the hell I'm going to lock the bootloader to get it worked on--that's the only thing I have done to it as far as modification wise (/system is stock, no root).
Any help is greatly appreciated. This is so frustrating since using USB is our way of working on these damn things. If I could get root without having to use USB, then I could easily lock the bootloader back.
Does anyone know how to re-lock the bootloader without root or using USB? At least I could have it locked so I can RMA it.

I've come to understand that USB problems are generally Windows' fault (i.e. Windows itself or poorly written drivers) rather than the device's fault. Not always, but the vast majority of the time.
See if anything in this article helps - installing the Google USB driver worked for me:

Thanks for your reply. However, I have a hard time thinking that three Windows machines are experiencing the same thing. I have successfully gotten it connected before the 5.0.1 update to transfer ringtones. I even booted into Linux Mint and couldn't get it to connect either. It's like the controller is bad but it can still charge.
Also, I have followed every direction on your link at least twice already.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have tried this and Windows refuses to use the proper drivers. It argues they aren't for 64-bit OS, but they have worked in the past. I almost got it to use some Samsung drivers, but after it installed, no change. The device is not reporting the details it needs to convey to the computer to start a proper driver setup.
I have not been able to connect either. Tried 2 different Nexus 6 devices, numerous reboots, different cables, different USB ports and all the stuff you tried also to know avail. I updated drivers, went through device manager, but I can connect when I switch from MTP to pictures, however you don't get the same access.

To me, it sounds like you have a glimmer of hope. Have you tried a different computer? If you don't have a different computer handy, boot Linux from a flash drive and install fastboot and adb.
keep getting this error when i tried to connect the note 4. I tried updating the driver, uninstalling the drivers, and different versions. Tried different usb cables also and different ports.. Can't odin stock rom because of the error. Phone won't show up in odin. Search google for hours, but not of the solutions I found didn't help. Any suggestion appreciated.
I suppose you download the latest driver for your device. Developer mode has been enable and you are in download mode. Hmmm have you tried different USB ports? What firmware you trying to install? Try different ODIN.

yes, i have downloaded the lastest driver. developer is enabled and in download mode. But in download mode Windows pop up the same device is malfunctioned. I was on firekatv21 rom (android 4.4.4)- which i was lucky to it working from a nand backup. I'm thinking is a problem with the phone. I tried my note 5, and s6+ and it identifies fine. Yes i have tried different ports, and even a different computer. Same issue with the phone. I also tried different version of odin. It just won't recognized the device, however it will still charge thru the usb cables. And yes, i have tried over 7 usb cables, 3 oem samsung cables
Ever get it working? I am having the same problem but with the 6.0.1 stock rom. Tried several cables and replaced the usb port on the device. It also won't work with a micro usb memory stick.

Unfortunately no. I also ordered a new USB port and replaced it so it turns out not to be the USB port. It's either software on the phone or problem with the motherboard. I have tried different pc and windows os, so it's a phone problem. Rules out pc as many solutions online suggested.
Alright, that helps narrow it down, thanks!

Windows don't detect the phone. I can't odin a rom. Only good thing is it is rooted and has twrp installed with firekat rom. I'm loking for a rom to flash that might fix it, but a few of the roms I tried failed to flash in twrp. Can't do it in odin.

A request for the USB device descriptor failed.
Windows don't detect the phone. I can't odin a rom. Only good thing is it is rooted and has twrp installed with firekat rom. I'm loking for a rom to flash that might fix it, but a few of the roms I tried failed to flash in twrp. Can't do it in odin.

Have you had any luck with this issue? I have the exact same problem with my note 4.
So basically I searched everywhere and found many people with this issue.
I tried everything everyone said.
From installing the drivers, to turning on developer mode.
Also fastboot mode is not working.
I hope my is not a hardware issue. I tried a new cable with the same results.
Anything else I can try?
I have been using FTP to transfer files but I want to root my phone and I can't.

The last time I read about someone having a similar problem it was resolved by using an original cable. But I can't find the thread where this was discussed.

Just to rule it out, after you connect your cable are you seeing the Notification with USB options and have you selected 'Data Transfer', (or whatever it's called)?
If you are seeing the Notification and the PC still can't see the device, uninstall whatever Drivers and ADB packages you currently have installed. Download the ADB package from Google and, when prompted, say 'yes' to installing the Drivers.
Make sure you try all your available USB ports.
Are there any Yellow exclaimation marks in Device Manager? Do you have the most recent Motherboard drivers from your Manufacturers website?

Yes, I updated the drivers too.
I tried uninstalling the google drivers and everything you mentioned.
No the notification doesn't show up and my device doesn't show up on device manager.
I am running windows 10 latest update.

If you have a can of compressed air, try blowing out the USB port. There may be debris up there. It does sound like a Hardware problem. You really need to try it on another PC to know for sure.
You don't have any issues when charging?

The phones charges perfectly, I already cleaned out the port.
So, I still have this issue and I wasn't able to solve it. Pretty much the phone only charges, doesn't get recognized by any computer. I also tried my laptop and same thing happens. How do I find out if it's a hardware issue?
Is there any way to save the phone?
i got this too , stuck in recovery and fastboot because i cant connect my device in any pc

You can connect your PC to your phone without cables using ADB over wifi provided your phone is rooted and on the same wifi network as your PC.
I know this won't solve your hardware problem but it does allow you to move files between your PC and your phone using ADB.
Note that this doesn't work in recovery or fastboot modes.
Here's how:
On the phone using Terminal
su
setprop service.adb.tcp.port 5555
stop adbd
start adbd
On the PC in a command terminal
adb connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5555
...
adb disconnect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5555
where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the phone's IP address
To set the phone back to normal (optional)
On the phone
su
setprop service.adb.tcp.port -1
stop adbd
start adbd

You could also try using flash drive via OTG. This won't help you connect to PC/Laptop in any way, but could at least progress a bit that the phone hardware is okay for data part.
This problem start again , fortunelly im in nougat so if i go to dev options and change the usb charging to mtp his comes to charging again . I think this is the problem , the phone dont comes to mtp so dont "have" a device in windows to connect , with this im unable to make root and do anything in fastboot because my phone lock to usb only for charge
