Hey there I just bought a Galaxy Tab A8 and have no experience. I tried to do this myself but didn't read replies saying to only patch my Boot.img in odin. Now I'm in a boot loop.
I used a guide that had all the original files already laid out for me. But it said to do the BL. AP, and CSC files on odin. I was only supposed to do AP because it has an empty file that the SM-t200 doesn't like.
Then I used this to try to fix it straight after getting stuck in the boot loop
[RECOVERY][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP 3.7.0 for 2021 Galaxy Tab A8 10.5 [SM-X200]
Notes: What's posted below is a work in progress, but it should suffice to unblock efforts to build custom ROMs for this impressive tablet. This is unofficial and unsupported, so the usual caveats apply. Since we don't flash the bootloader, you...

I'm currently stuck at the Teamwin menu on my tablet after power and hold volume up and plugging in tablet.
Is there a way to return to stock and do everything over again? I just bought this yesterday and don't want to have a bricked Tab A8
If you just purchased the tab then yeah do factory reset since you don't have to worry about trying to save any of the data. Just be extra careful and go over the steps again until you are ready to go for a second time.

What is your end goal? Do you want to install a custom ROM or are you just trying to get root with the stock ROM? You obviously have TWRP working so you could install a custom ROM from there. If you want to go back to a stock ROM, there should be an option in TWRP to reboot to download mode.

Hi, XDA members,
I recently rooted my gadget Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite SM-T1100 using ODIN software to flash a custom recovery which is the ClockWorkMod. The flashing went well and after that, I boot to custom recovery to make a flash of the file "android-armeabi-universal-root-signed" and reboot the system. After rebooting, my device has already been rooted. But for a reason I did not understand I tend to restore my device to it's factory default settings thru the tablet settings, after that, it only boot to the custom recovery and did not boot again to homescreen. I know this is because of the deleted OS on my tablet due to factory reset that I've done. Please help me bring back my gadget to life since I already searched for =different kinds of Stock Firmware to recover its deleted OS and bring back to it's original form. Your help will be much appreciated since I really badly need this gadget back to work. I need a step by step instructions and all the links that I'll be needing to bring back my tablet to life again. Thank you very much guys!
Condition: Every time I open my tablet all it does is to flash its name SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 3 LITE SM-T1100 and after that it will boot to my custom recovery which is ClockWorkMod and there is nothing to do.
What I've done before the incident: I rooted it and the rooting process went well. But after that I preferred making a factory reset and poof! There is the PROBLEM
CRITICAL FILES: No, I don't have any files to be backed up and yes. I did not make a Back up or what they called Nandroid...

Hello everyone,
First of all - great to become a part of this community of talented hackers. You guys really make wonders with software on mobile devices.
I have recently tried to flash new unofficial CM12 Lollipop custom ROM from novafusion site on Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT-l8190 device.
I've used Odin and proper recovery md5.tar image intended for use with Odin. Also I've installed drivers needed for the operation. I was running it all under Windows 8.1, as this is the only OS that can dual-boot with my Linux OS on a second HDD.
Everything went quite smooth to the step where Lollipop should boot. It did boot for the first time, asked for memory wipe, because internal storage was encrypted in previous version of android Jelly Bean, IIRC, it isi not my device].
I agreed, then device rebooted and since then it is stuck on TWRP screen, no matter how I boot it [vol+, menu and power keys brings device in supposed recovery, but recovery never boots into TWRP menu].
vol-,menu,power key combo works and it brings device into "downloading new firmware" mode properly. However, flashing of any of the firmware listed on novafusion site does not really change anything. I have also tried to flash CWM onto the device, but it goes to the blank screen after showing Samsung logo. "Downloading new firmware" works fine with CWM, too, just as in TWRP case.
Can anyone please suggest any way out here? I think I've done proper research before approaching this operation, but I don't really know what to do now, when the original instruction from the site failed to bring this device to Lollipop.
I tried to contact novafusion/maclaw team, but their mail server is bouncing off all messages.
I'd appreciate all advice.
Thanks in advance,
- marc

reflash TWRP using odin & dl mode.
-if still cant get recovery,
reset thta phone --> means flash full system image, can be found on sammobile or other sites using odin & dl mode. there are plenty of tuts on the net just seach, same way for many samsung models
-> if you get twrp, its goood to make a full format ´,even more when u switch to new rom (like from JB to LP)
so: in TWRP format internal if possible, data (factory reset), cache & system. can make them f2fs btw if using nova's builds.
-install rom & gapps done. happy boting

Thanks a lot, mate! I have flashed stock ROM and device is operational again with the old ROM. Now, I will hack some more to make it work with KitKat or Lolipop, this time correctly.
You guys rock.
UPDATE:
Ok, so I've managed to install CM12.1 onto this device and it works beautifully. The only major hickup is the fact that It is unable to encrypt device's internal storage. Any thoughts on that?
Also, I had to restore stock ROM and DECRYPT THE INTERNAL STORAGE FIRST, then boot into TWRP recovery and do wipe.

Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE i-9305
Hello everyone, first post and I need help :crying::crying:
Today I tried backing up my rom on CWM recovery but it was always getting stuck on "Generating MD5 sum"
So I decided to switch to TWRP. I downloaded the TWRP app from the play store. I picked my device, picked the latest
version and downloaded. Then the app asked me if I wanted to reboot into recovery (something like that, I don't exactly remember what it was) and I pressed yes. The phone turned off and rebooted however I don't know what happened but now my phone is starts, shows the [Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE i-9305] screen for about 3 seconds then goes black and again shows the [Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE i-9305] screen repeatedly. I don't know what to do :crying:
My phone is rooted with CM11 flashed. So I can't give it in for a repair as they would be able to tell if I am rooted because of the KNOX warranty void: 1 thing :crying::crying: What can I do now??
NOTE: I can't reboot into recovery, only bootloader.
can you reboot into downloading mode ((home+power+volume-)?
if yes, with odin, try to flash again the recovery (i prefer PhilZ recovery on my i9305) and later try to backup your phone.

Ok I done that but with TWRP and it works, factory reseted and flashed cm11 again. It is booting up right now thanks alot for the help
Dear all,
after rooting a cyanogen my Samsung SIII mini (GT-I8190N) went into a bootloop. Unfortunately, my home button is defect so I cant access the custom recovery (at least I have no idea how).
I can access download mode using an USB jig and I tried to flash multiple combinations of firmwares - but nothing helps.
The furtherst I got was with slimKat, with showed me for half a second a dialog which launcher I want to use, before it rebooted. CM 12 always "optimizes apps" and reboots after it finishes the last. Stock does only show the boot animation in a constant loop.
I tried repartitioning in ODIN and even NAND Erase all... but with no success.
My flash counter is already at 32
Does anyone have still some ideas? Can I factory reset the phone from ODIN? Can I somehow boot into recovery from ODIN?
Best,
Jan

I suspect that your device is boot-looping on custom ROMs because there is incompatible stuff on your /data partition. The data partition needs to be wiped and you can't really do that with ODIN. You need to find a custom recovery that allows you to flash using ODIN and that is compatible with the custom ROM you are trying to flash. You also need to wipe /data (format it) before your first boot. You will loose all your info, even the stuff that was in your internal sd but the device should boot.
BUT:
I note that you said your HOME button is not working and that is required to manually boot into recovery. Additionally, with out a booting ROM you can not issue the "adb reboot recovery" command which would do it for you. There is a trick that I have learned but I only know how to do it with "heimdall" in the Ubuntu Terminal.
Basically it's like this: If you flash a recovery directly into the kernel partition, then when you try to boot normally, you will boot recovery instead. Then flashing a ROM normally (in recovery) will restore a normal kernel into the kernel partition.
The partitions for the kernel and recovery on this device are typically kernel and kernel2 respectively.
kernel -> kernel
recovery -> kernel2
So:
recovery -> kernel ( Will boot recovery on a normal boot ).
I hope I have explained this well enough. You are going to have to do some learning if you want to get this working. Good luck.
P.S. If you are thinking of asking follow questions, don't, Google it instead.

Dear Meticulus,
thanks a lot for your help. I was away for the week-end; thus the late reply.
With your help it took me only an hour to get my smartphone working again. The main tipps, which helped me was the Heimdal tool, which I wasn't aware off and the possibility to flash the recovery directly into the kernel...
It worked like a treat. The smartphone booted into TWRP directly, which finally gave my access to wipe the data partition.
It took a couple of trials before I was able to flash an android image back to the kernel/system but this also worked nicely.
So thanks again and this brick is solved :good:

JazzROM For Samsung Galaxy Tab S2/SM-T713 Nougat 7.0
A custom ROM based on official firmware Samsung Galaxy Tab S2/SM-T713 Nougat 7.0 (XAR- USA version)
[Deodexed, Deknoxed, Rooted, Internal Encryption off, Init.d, Su.d, etc..etc..all good stuff you will find in pretty much every good custom ROMs..]
Nobody is allowed to take stuff from my rom without asking me! Thank you.
A fair warning before you jump on and flash this ROM: Installing this Rom will void warranty. Installing TWRP will trip knox to 0x1! Secure folder will be unusable.
Prerequisites / What you need:
1 - No brainier that flashing custom ROMs requires a custom recovery, we use TWRP 3.1.0-1 - look here @ashyx thread download for your device.
2 - If you are still on official firmware and never rooted, maybe it is time to get into custom recovery! - so get that one going..have question about TWRP, please ask @ashyx thread, not here.
3 - Now that you have fully working TWRP installed, it is good time to do full nandroid backup and save that to your microSD card and your computer (in case all goes wrong, you can restore it)
4 - Keep in mind that we developer always assume you know what you are doing since you are here and interested flashing custom ROMs!
5- Remember that do not set read-only mode system in TWRP
6- Are we good up to this point? if yes, then proceed to installation step!
Installation:
-- Of course, do full nandroid backup!!!!!, dont blame ROM developer if something goes awfully wrong..so do full backup!!
1 - Then, first download JazzROM-SM-T713.NOUGAT.7.0.DEODEX.V1.zip copy it to your tablet's internal sdcard or microSD card.
2 - Reboot in to TWRP, and do Data Format [Wipe]/[FormatData], type "yes", and once it done, go back to main screen
3 - In TWRP main screen, -->Wipe-->Advanced Wipe, and check only; "System", "Data", "Cache", and "Dalvik/Art cache" - do NOT select any other options!, once it done, go back to main screen.
4- In TWRP main screen, select Install, and Select Storage where you saved JazzROM-SM-T713.NOUGAT.7.0.DEODEX.V1.zip in first step above, and select "JazzROM-SM-T713.NOUGAT.7.0.DEODEX.V1.zip" then swipe to confirm flash and wait until it finishes...
5- Reboot to System, don't be alarmed, you may get couple boot-loops (for me it happened 2 times) with SuperSU-v2.82, this is normal.
6- Now, while your tablet is rebooting, go get coffee or read a short book or watch something, it is going to take several minutes (5 to 15 min.)
7- Once reboots, go thru the setup of tablet as you normally do.
8- If all goes fine, you should be running stock base deodexed Nougat 7.0 ROM!

just in case
Nice, will try it.
Looking forward to test this as soon as I get a soft bricked Tab S2 that I will try to resuscitate.
Don't pass the bootlogo
Same here, stuck on bootlogo.
Due to complaints about boot logo freeze i haven't tried to test the rom yet. Any feedback from the developer?

My Galaxy Tab S2 SM-713 Nougat developed a FRP
---------- Post added at 07:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:26 PM ----------
My Galaxy Tab S2 SM-713 Nougat developed a FRP block after rooting which bricked it. I wanted to reflash the original rom but unfortunately I never copied the id number from the tablet
After lots of searching, I found this "generic" JazzRom and downloaded the zip file which I then converted to a tar.md5 file. I then used ODIN to flash my tablet (fortunately the upload mode wasn't bricked).
Flashing proceeded normally and when done, the tablet booted fairly quickly back and everything looked as if it never was bricked.
I know I should probably do a full factory reset ad restore all my apps from my backup but everything is working so smoothly so I'll do that tomorrow.
Thanks for the excellent job.
