I'd like to know if there's any ROM currently under development which features DEX (or at least some similar desktop mode) as well? To me this feature is a top priority, but the stock ROM doesn't updates anymore, so I'm looking after a replacement. Any help or hint is highly appreciated!
(Alternatively, is it possible to root a Galaxy S10 / S10+ and use with a rooted stock ROM without breaking the DEX functionality?)
You'll need to be more specific about which S10 you have. Exynos has more ROM availability, while Snapdragon does not since it's locked down and not really ROM-able...

You're right and thank you for reply! I'm looking for ROM-s for Exinos-powered S10/S10+ devices. I don't have any of these right now, but it's important to me because I'm about to buy one soon. Having control over my phone by custom ROM-s and rooting are just as important to me than having a fully-working DEX on my phone. Any further help appreciated!
Ok, that helps. I'm on Snapdragon, so I don't know what is available for Exynos... we'll have to see if others reply to you.
Good luck
Thanks for your help! If anyone else has some insights, please share it!
As an update, I've just found Ambasadii ROM which states it includes DEX, does anyone have experience with it?

I've been looking everywhere and I can't seem to CWM for the SM-G730W8, so can anyone port a version of CWM for all of the Canadian users? I've read about installing CWM with fastboot but I don't understand it and I'm not sure if I need to have a CWM that works for my phone. Also can anyone tell me if Recovery Builder works or can someone teach me to use it? Thanks in advance guys.

Has anyone with a SM-G730W8 or SM-G730A or SM-G730V tried using Flash Gordon http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250555 to flash scripts? Well Flash Gordon only works with some zip files; I don't know why. Kn0x0ut http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2550120 is a good alternative to Flash Gordon and possibly CWM since we still can't unlock out bootloader. I've been looking around and I found that the s4 mini has a method of installing CWM and unlocking the bootloader through the process but I'm not sure if it works. I don't really want to test it because it would be a hassle to have to unbrick my phone and download all of my apps again if this method doesn't work. The reason I think this might work is because it works with the Canadian version of the S4 mini(SGH-I257M) and that's different from the normal s4 mini(GT-I9195). Since the SM-G730W8 is a Canadian phone that was released at the same time as the SGH-I257M there's a chance that their bootloader's can be unlocked in the same way. If it works for the SM-G730W8 then it would work for the SM-G730A and SM-G730V. Here's the link to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980 . The developer and I are not responsible for any bricked phones. If you want to test this go ahead and be sure to report back here to tell us if it works. Good luck if you decide to test this. I might test it in the summer when I have time but I can't risk bricking my phone at the moment and I might even buy I new phone soon because this phone is just not meeting my needs for gaming.
BTW Samsung didn't repair my phone. they said they made "mechanical adjustments" to it but it doesn't matter what they did because my phone still has dead pixels around the screen. I'm just pointing this out because Samsung is really trying hard to lose customers now lol. First they install KNOX to all of their devices, then they lock the bootloaders on our phones to the point where it's near impossible to unlock and then they don't do anything when you send your phone in for repairs -_- I think I'm done with Samsung.
I likely shouldn't be posting in an older thread, but I felt it important to notify. The S4 mini recovery that you linked to was the only one that came close to working on my SM-G730W8. It booted into a very buggy and dysfunctional version with a dimmed screen and a constant vibration on. it was useless, but is was the only custom recovery I could get to boot.
I should also note that previously on the stock 4.2.2 firmware the boot loader was locked, and it would just boot loop any custom recovery. After installer the new stock 4.4.2 firmware, the boot loader appears to be unlocked, because recoveries don't seem to boot loop, and as I stated above one of them actually booted. My issue is that I can't find a recovery that actually works properly for this device, likely because it's been locked up until this point. I'll keep searching, and if need be I will have to try and make my own.
SM-G730W8
can ı ask a question ? is i8200 and SM-G730W8 same phones ?
I don't believe that they are the same phone. Otherwise, when I tried the recoveries designed for them, than it would have loaded.

Question is quite simple - trying to load spanish as a generic language support in the canadian version g730w8...
Cannot find a way to load it up. I figure that i747m can be converted somewhat to t999 american version..
can g730w8 s3 mini be converted to GT-I9195L the latin american version to add language support if so How?
Are there any simpler ways to go by this?
I do not want to use morelocale or other apps to just enable half half support but rather change the whole device into a spanish version..
Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks in advance..

Unfortunately, you cannot convert the SM-G730W8 into the GT-I9195 because the hardware of the 2 devices are different. If you flashed a GT-I9195 ROM to the SM-G730W8, you would brick your phone. I personally have no experience with changing to entire system's language to Spanish so I don't really know how to point you in the right direction.

Hi everyone. So I'm brand new to rooting. This is my first rooted phone. I have the Att Variant of the Galaxy S5 and I'm looking to install a custom Recovery so I can save my phone if anything happens to it. From reading I'm pretty sure my only option is Safestrap? I'm running KitKat 4.4.4 with build OA1.
I did see and find tutorials and DL links for NG3. But I don't want to install that if that is not what I need for my phone. (Obviously). If anyone can help me and point me in the right direction that would be great and HIGHLY APPRECIATED.
I also know I want to get rid of the bloatware on my phone and install an adblocker
Any suggestions on how to do thos or apps to look into ?
Also any other this you guys would first do after rooting a new phone for the first time
Please and thanks. Glad to finally be apart of this Community.

N920K and N920S ROMs can share each other's ROM?
You know what is problem? I can provide a ROM but not possible to update frequently. Once there is no regular update then some user push badly and never understand developer and keep spoiling thread..

We just need major updade, not frequently and quick update like international.
If you are only option to have custom Rom, I'm pretty sure they will not complaint, just praise you and your hard work.
N920K, N920S and N920L can share same rom, just different modem, bootloader which dev will not touch on any Note 5 variant
Devs shouldn't have to bother with different modem, bootloader, we the user can easily find that ourselves plus a dev has enough on their plate when creating a custom ROM.
There are a couple of Note5 ROMs available for which you're searching here on XDA.
The problem is some people don't bother reading and/or researching for their smartphone.
Good luck my friend.
Ok then I will look it soon. BTW which base you want to use K/S or L?
I will provide only one kernel on which ROM is based on. Users either use that one OR select custom kernel.
Now one of you may ask mod to close this thread and keeping dev section clean.

I will check and send you fix if possible. Meanwhile do flash my ROM L4 and make nandroid so anytime you can test fix.

Hello, ive also recently found my old tablet (Verizon SCH-I800) and want to be able to update it enough to use it as a clock and calendar on my desk. i have been searching for days but have not been able to find anything useful yet. by chance did you have any luck in your search with your tablet?
Looking to root and flash an updated android onto it. new to rooting and flashing and im learning very quickly that it is not very simple. anything useful would be so much help! thanks!
I've looked through official Samsung material and they currently don't offer any methods of rolling back the device to its previous update. It has vexed me with issues both aesthetic and software related and I was wondering if anyone perhaps preserved one of these builds, if it was possible at all, and if I could do it without bricking the phone! At the moment I feel crazy enough to try it and frankly this would be an educational experience. I've done a lot of work with Windows and I'm vaguely familiar with Linux terminals. Maybe I'm asking for too much.
If anyone out there is crazy enough to have an answer to my question, I would be very appreciative. Samsung really dropped the ball on this one and I had no idea it was already shipping or else I would've attempted to prevent this. Usually I really enjoy One Ui, but today, not so much. Thanks in advance.
I think you need to unlock the bootloader. All what i could find is if you try to rollback you stuck in download mode.
Just download the firmware from sammobile or somewhere else and flash it via Odin I managed to get mine back to One UI 3 fine

That's fine with me. Probably going to take more time but I'm not too worried. This is kind of my life raft out if I really hate 12. Which I'm not enjoying so far. Even if it didn't have the bugs.
