Question Firmware NE2215_11.C.22 - OnePlus 10 Pro

Please share information on how to use it. version stability. Battery life.
I am currently using NE2215_11_A.17. does it make sense to update?

nothing change for me
juts get orange state

so far nothing concrete can be said.
to check the battery life, you need to have statistics for at least a week, and the update came only the day before yesterday. it's too early

I tried android 13, after a week of use it starts to consume the battery very much. did a reset to the factory settings, a week later a strong battery consumption began again. Now I'm back on android 12. I'm a little afraid to update.

good time. There is already some information about the work of the update. you can use it. Or is it better to stay on version A17?

[Q] Battery life on 5.1

I recently updated to 5.1, re-rooted, and unencrypted via the NRT. Since doing this my battery life has been less than satisfactory. Before I was getting 12-13 hours, now for the last 3-4 days I've been lucky to get 8. I am a very light user at best. Is this a bug in 5.1? Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Same here, but I'm rooted using Chroma ROM.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app

Android OS has been my main culprit since installing 5.1

I just got the verizon nexus 6 with 5.1 on it already (so i can't comment what it was like on 5.0.1). but i am NOT impressed w/ battery life so far... moderate use (not heavy) I can get about 10-11 hrs.
i did notice that the screen takes up most of the battery, with a zopim chat app taking up the second spot (i use it for my business)... i just emailed them to see if they could forward it to their developer to optimize it for the update. we shall see.
Not sure what, but you guys are obviously doing something really weird to get that bad of battery life. Mine will do **THREE DAYS*** on light use (what you are all claiming).
That is up from about 1.5-2 days on 5.0.

Does something Special need to be done when going from LP to MM? (Battery issue)

What's up guys. So I had put MM on a friend's N6 for her so that she could enjoy the best of what android can offer (got her to sell her Iphone, Yessss)
Anyway... Now that I have a 64GB nexus 6 of my own and after many days of testing... I feel like something is wrong.
She is a pretty standard user, while I am a super heavy user... and neither of us can get past roughly 10 hours of total time, regardless of SOT. I've tried Chroma, Light, and Euphoria (MM builds) on both of our devices and the results are almost always the same. For her, the past week has been a max of 10 hours total time, but sometimes as little as 6 hours without use if not less, with less than 1 hour of SOT. Then on mine, which I've only had for 2 days mind you, the results are strangely similar, the best I got was 9 hours of total time with 3 hours SOT. While our results are somewhat different they both still... suck.
Is there some kind of magical nonsense I missed that must be preformed before moving to MM? Both devices were on LP to start with. I'm honestly just moving back to 5.1.1 for now (Mainly for xposed anyway) but...still I know that after reading so many good comments in threads that this cannot be some general "MM sucks" thing. It must be our devices, or the way I am modding them.
Basically, for both devices I did the following...
Unlock Bootloader
Flash TWRP, the one that was said to work on MM
Backed up Stock Rom
Flashed a custom ROM
...Is there something new that I am not aware of? I've tried to search a bit but I've honestly not sure what to search for exactly. I tried searching for firmware...but that didn't really seem conclusive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
battery life has nothing to do with you rooting/unlocking/flashing your phone. it all has to do with how you set up, which apps you install and use, how you use the device, and your signal quality. that said, if you keep your brightness high, you will get lowered battery life, no matter what.

right, but the fact that we both have different uses (mine being heavy hers being light) and use different apps...yet the results are similar?
I'm talking about is there some kind of firmware that is needed? Similar to HTC devices and the OnePlus one going from kitkat to LP?
what carrier are you on? there are different roms per carrier and having the wrong one might be affecting this

no. if your phones have booted, and are running, you got everything. your battery life is what i have "normally" seen from average users that dont know much about keeping good battery life. i normally see anywhere from 5-6.5 hours sot, and minimally 20 hours total in battery life.

...You're sure? If anything, her light use should allow her to go on for a long time. I've been checking gsam while letting the phone sit. No auto sync or any of that nonsense. And it's averaging 12% per hour... which is just crazy.
I mean I've had to defeat battery sucking issues before, but this is just crazy.

If dirty flash didn't work I would clean flash. Wipe til it squeaks. Dirty flash don't always work when flashing a new base.

theres so much more to battery life then just "light use". i sync everything, and dont disable anything, keep my brightness low..
do you/she happen to use facebook? how about are you a gamer?
also, if your signal quality isnt good, your battery will never be.

She uses facebook, I do not... But still ... this is crazy terrible battery life. I mean... I expected MM to be better, but at least be equivalent to LP. But this is just insane.
Alright! After reading and looking around more, I've found a post that stated "FOR LOLLIPOP ROM USERS IS NECESSARY START FROM ANDROID M FACTORY OR UPGRADE YOUR BOOTLOADER AND RADIO."
I tried searching for this but I'm not finding anything. I take it I just need to flash the stock factory image, but if one wanted just to upgrade, where are the Bootloader and Radio files?
I am downloading the factory image now and will report if this helps at all, perhaps this will help other users.
I found the best way to go was to flash the stock firmware and start from scratch. I simply did a clean install. My battery life has improved drastically from Lollipop.

Did you flash the entire stock rom/firmware/boot etc? Or just the radio and bootloader? I just flashed the bootloader and radio, but I guess I might as well do it all.

I did the whole thing. I've found with any phone on any OS, it is generally best to do a full clean install with full number changes.
While you lose a fair amount of content, it is worth the benefit.

I always keep my apps backed up on a USB drive lol. Believe it or not this is the first device I've had to go from one major build to the next. Other than the OnePlus One. I was not aware you could even update the bootloader really lol, I thought that was an annoying HTC thing. Alright, I shall get to flashing.

Happy Holidays All - OnePlus 3T

As of about 2 days ago, I have noticed a rapid drain of the battery. From 100-0 in about 8 hours.
And just now, recharged around 1:30 p.m., and as of about 4:00 p.m. it went from 97% to 55%, with "3 more hours of battery left" (I use the Dash Charger Only fwiw)
I have hardly been using it...at all. I leave the display on 50% normally, but again, not using it. And since noticing this, I even took the dispay to 25%.
I went to the settings/battery to find that right above Android is Dictionary, which I don't use. I force closed it
Dictionary 8%
Android System 6%
Android OS 5%
Facebook 5%
TypeApp Mail 4%
T-Mobile Name ID 4%
Google App 4%
Google Play Services 2%
I would welcome any help.
Try a factory reset?
I'm on the leaked nougat and this phone is blowing my mind. Just as good as the iPhone 7+ in regards to battery life and butteryness. Longest battery life I've ever used on an Android and the smoothest experience.
I'm so glad I didn't get the pixel, so glad..
Factory reset your phone and don't install any other apps for a while. See if the battery drain continues. If so, return your phone via manufacture's warranty, since you probably have a defective battery
Trying to avoid a Reset.
I restarted in safe mode, and it is much better now, only indicating is is one of my apps etc
I also have the Pixel XL which does blow this away even when this phone was at its peak. But, I guess we all use different apps
What do you have to do to get Android Nougat you said you have.
Thanks so much

Hey bro! Right now on oos 3.5.4, did face issues but I've flashed blu_spark kernel and phone's working like a charm again. You are using stock kernel right? do you have any experience with blu_spark so you can compare performance to your actual rom?
I am on stock correct. Otherwise don't root etc. Haven't for a few years with C and beat it. Cant keep all that knowledge together
So I guess I answered your question, but otherwise I am lost. Thanks for sticking with me everyone

Yup, stock everything from the leak. I haven't tried blu_spark since I'm not sure there are any kernels compatible with the leaked build

I was referring to (oos 3.5.3/3.5.4 + blu_spark) vs OOS 4.0 but thx anyway! I'll keep on MM & custom kernel untill final 4.0 is released.
Nougat is the solution
Im running the new nougat leaked and is been phenomenal here is a screenshot

Six months since 7.0 and still unsure, Marshmallow or Nougat on N6

I've been very happy with MM on my N6 and still get great battery life and performance. I'm comfortable with ROMs/mods and my phone is pretty much where I want it in terms of functionality and UI. After months of debate, I'm still unsure if it's worth moving to Nougat (and not impressed with O preview either). I'm so unconvinced that I don't even feel like investing the time in testing 7.x particularly after reading posts of battery or compatibility issues. I'm not trying to be "stuck in the past" but just don't see a convincing reason to update.
The last dedicated thread I saw on MM vs N was from Oct 2016, any new opinions since then?
I'm thinking about moving back to MM because of the terrible battery life and performance on nougat.
In the same boat. MM seems to give me better battery life but Nougat seems a little bit more snappier.
I've only been on 7.0 for a couple of weeks, but no complaints.

Hey... Flashed Pure Nexus with EX Kernel as soon as its nougat iteration appeared and never looked back. Well I can't really compare about battery life as my phone is now 2 years old. Still it performs very well, nothing to complain about. Screen on time is the same and standby is better on Android 7 i think. Of course stock firmware is not as polished as it should, but custom ROMs are here to change that. I don't need that much mods on my phone anymore except theme, ad blocker, theme ready apps and maybe a few other things.
What kind of incompatibility issues are you talking about?
Well, I understand you don't want to waist your time , but it's just a matter of backup/flash/test. You won't loose anything and if you don't like it, you can always revert back to MM anyway. I think a weekend is more than enough to decide if it's worth it for you or not.
I usually prefer testing things myself and not based on people statements. Because everyone has his tastes and they unlikely match mines...
Cheers...
I'm on 7.1.1 stock with Franco Kernel, encryption disabled and F2FS filesystem.
No problems with stability, lags or battery life. In fact, I usually get around 5h+ of screen on time, which is pretty good for a 2 years old phone.
Usually, battery life and stability are user fault. Of course we can't say everything is related to users... But if you configure correctly your apps permissions, don't install anything out of the play store and don't do things like undervolting... You should be good to go.
Regards,
Rafael

I'd have to go back and look at the threads I've read, the only thing I recall being a deal-killer was not being able to use net.tethering under Nougat (is that still an issue)? I've been very happy with Pure (MM) with Franco on my other devices but have kept stock on my N6. I agree with testing it out myself, just need to find some time, but generally trust opinions on XDA.
Phone has been solid for years and rooted with Nova, adaway, lightflow, multiwindow, and tethering has met my needs. Maybe I'm just being lazy or in a rut but definitely would like something more revolutionary to encourage the upgrade.
Thanks for the input everyone, gives me a lot to think about.

Sadly I can't really help you with net.tethering as I don't use it...
Just make a search in Q/A or open a thread if nothing shows up. I'm sure you'll get an answer... :good:
Good luck...
Couple of days with stock 7.1.1 and so far it's fine, nothing that made me thrilled with the update but nothing that makes me want to roll back. Can't say it's snappier than MM or has better battery life, though. Enabled tethering using the usual net.tethering entry as well as 'settings put global tether_dun_required 0' so nothing lost there. Guess if this is the last, full-point update for my beloved N6 I can live with it (until I find an annoyance I can't stand and flash Pure or something else).
Thanks again for everyone's input!
Bought my N6 used back in September. I still have official 7.0 My device has never stuttered or slowed down (outside of extremely low battery and high CPU apps). I have a lot of apps installed, I use it hard, and run some demanding apps (like raw photo conversion) on occasion. And I just clocked 3+ days of battery use with nearly 7 hours of SOT under a variety of uses. I can't imagine not using N on this device.

Curious, what problems do you have in 711? Those issues aside, the OP asked about 7.0 as opposed to 711.
terrible battery life? maybe you need a new battery, I get above 6 SOT hours using Nitrogen ROM

Its all about standby battery life when using a bt device like an android watch. Not going to get into arguements here but have tested and 7.0 doesnt have the bad drain on my unit and 711 absolutely does. Thus cannot be an old battery if the only change i made was OS version and drastic difference in battery drain. 711 has about 2x+ the standby drain with bt on. 7.0 and 6.0 have much better drain

I like 5.0.2

I have a completely standard phone - not unlocked etc. Bought it when they first came out - got the 8gb/128gb black model.
I received the 5.0.2 OTA update a couple of days ago and installed it. Since then, I have found:
Battery life seems better. I used it on and off all day yesterday and forgot to put it on charge. This morning it still had 68% left.
I really like face unlock. I don't know how secure it is, but it seems very fast. Open the cover, screen comes on and 'whoof', it's unlocked. I now have to remember NOT to use my fingerprint to unlock as well
It seems (if that's possible), even more responsive. The CPU is really fast anyway, but I'm enjoying the new lease of life.
I don't think I'll be changing it any time soon.

I'll jump right there with you, this phone has beast specs, but very thankfully OnePlus is also a powerhouse for android cooking, and oh are they making good things in OOS. IMO, OOS 5 was like covering the small corners left in OOS 4, subjective of course, but they made my life easier and the experience waaaaay smoother, this thing is faster than I thought a phone could be. Not mentioning the kernel as well, making the battery last even 8hours screen on time, daily for me, medium to heavy user.
Things left to do, yeah, I'd say their panorama pics are awfully mediocre to say the least, I cannot believe the difference between one of them vs. the modded Gcam. It's night and day, which saddens me because that goes to show the image processing could be better than what we already have now. And they don't share their camera blobs, so points less for that. It's like they have a problem and they don't let others try to fix it (and by others I mean developers that have already proven to know better).
Overall, this phone is awesome and it keeps getting better, the custom ROM cooking business is spectacular. I'm on OmniROM 8.1.
They could update the phones faster IMO as well, I mean...comparing them to developers around here, they're very slow. But they deliver, they aren't the last to update either, and OOS is CAF based to props to them for going that route. They've developed a solid OS.
Has anyone gotten Truecaller to work on Oreo?
