did this update include new icons?
I have what looks like a missed phone call icon with bars and the number 1
I think it has to do with wifi calling as if i turn that off it now has vo lte1?????
No i have had the icon for a long time now, the icon means that WiFi calling is on for the SIM card in slot one.

hello, I have a new t mobile htc one I got as gift (never opened). My old phone was an unlocked samsung galaxy nexus using a tmobile prepaid sim. I resized this sim to fit the htc one and everything worked fine( full bars for signal). Problem with this sim is that I could not make wifi calls. So I called tmobile and had them activate the new sim which I got with the htc one (Same prepaid plan, no data). i can now make wifi calls. Problem is once wifi is disconnected I only have 1 bar. If I attempt to make a call all bars raise in full, even if i attempt to check my balance the bars automatically jump from 1 to full and back to 1 bar after i see my balance. Is there a setting i need to change or is this normal? i am worried I may be missing calls like this. (All this happens when the wifi is disabled)
Sorry if the post is confusing, I tried to provide all the details but will be happy to provide anything else if necessary.
Thanks!

This happens with me sometimes as well...if it is in LTE mode, the signal bars are less...1 , sometime 2, and sometimes 4... as soon as i make call, the data connection is OFF for that moment, and the signal bars are full....as soon as the calls end, the data connection is activated.... the bars are less again.... try changing the data connection modes from LTE to 3G only and to 2G....and see what happens

Awesome this helps. Thanks. In my situation I have no data plan setup. No need for any internet on my phone atm. So all I use this phone for is calls and an occasional sms. Will I have a longer battery life if i disable lte and have it on gsm only? Would the call signal drop?

i am not sure, but when you dont use Mobile Data on your HTC one, there is no need to select the LTE mode.... you can select the other option always. and it might save battery as well....."might"
You will definitely save on battery if you switch to 2g if you don't use data at all. Switching to 3g frequency takes more battery even when there's no data connection.
I switched it to gsm only then disabled mobile data. Full bars now. This should work. The next option is wcdma which i dont think tmobile uses.
I am wondering about the VoLTE Setting on Tmobile S6.
So a quick Test you can do for me.
1) Make a Call with VoLTE ON - checked box in Settings and observe the LTE Symbol in the Status
Bar at top of Display- it should remain on LTE even if you go in Internet during Call.
2) Make a Call with VoLTE OFF - unchecked box in Settings and observe the LTE
Symbol at Status Bar- Does it instantly change to 3G, H,H+ ,or 4G during the Call
and if you simultaneously go on Internet during Call.
Thanks- trying to see how the VoLTE Setting works in actual use on TMobile on S6.
Thanks.
So I'm using this phone with Freedompop's global SIM card as a handy data connection device. I've been using this sim with other phones without a problem, however I have a strange behavior on the Blu R1. Apparently, since the card is always considered "roaming" here in the US, the R1 just shows me a "R" next to my signal bars. However, I am unable to see if I have a network connection, or at what level (3G, H+, etc). I set the network preferences to always connect when roaming, but I hate being in the dark with my connection.
I can pull up a browser and see if it works or not, or open up the Network app or something to see the nitty-gritty status, but its very frustrating to not know how or even IF I'm connected when I'm expecting a message or response. For example, if I'm on H+ I'll accept a video call, but if I'm on 3G I know it'll just end in frustration. Is there any fix/tweak or anything to get around this? Perhaps disable the roaming notification?
I'm not having quite the same problem with FreedomPop. I see the perpetual R for roaming, but I do get bars for network signal strength. (You do have the FreedomPop Sim in slot #1, right? It won't work in Slot #2.)
FreedomPop will ALWAYS show as roaming here in the US. It is part of their instructions actually. But you will not be charged extra for it. I have had the free 200mb, 500 text, 200 minute plan on my sons R1 HD for a few months now and no bills.
If you have Xposed installed, you could use the Roaming Control module to trick your phone into thinking that AT&T and T-mobile aren't roaming networks; it's what I did until I switched to the FreedomPop LTE GSM sims.
Otherwise, I used to use Network Cell Info Lite, where I enabled the notification and set the update rate to 4 seconds--HSPA+ will show up as "3.5G" in the notification icon. It has proper support for dual-sim phones. You could also try Nify, which does show what kind of network connection you're on, but I have no idea if it works with dual-sim phones properly (e.g. will it only show SIM1 all the time, even if you use SIM2 as your primary sim?)
Hi,
System icons besides signal strength such as VoLTE, LTE and VoWiFi are not showing anymore after One UI 3.0 update.
Any solution to get them back?
Found that SIM card IMS status is "Not registered"!!!

Same here and loose mobile data after calls all the time
Same with calls
I had problem with calls
For how calls me it says out off service
I must restart phone to make sim work with calls
I've enabled VoWIFI in the Sim Card Settings and sometimes the icon in the status bar appears when I'm at home and connected to my wifi router (not always).
Sometimes I do not receive calls, but receive the SMS for a missed call a second later. Sometimes I can hear the caller, but he can't hear me until I disable wifi on my phone.
Also switch to airplane mode and turn wifi on, to check if VoWifi is working., But I'm not able to call somebody because VoWIFI (Icon) not available. Should be not a carrier system because it works quite well with the same sim card in my girlfriends Mi 9 lite phone, recently tested.
Anything I can reset, configure, check?
