Question Why are there many codenames for the Redmi 9T ? - Redmi 9 Power / 9T

I tried installing custom roms but I failed everytime and reinstalled the stock MIUI rom. But I might have found the issue. When I use adb, he says that my phone has the "lemon" codename. When I go the the havoc-os website, I find that the rom for my phone has the "juice" codename. By going into another custom rom website, I get other codenames, "juice" and "chime". That's why I'm here to ask some questions :
Why are there many codenames for my phone ? (maybe that's because I bought it in EU but I think he has the same components as the other ones, but IDK)
Is there a way to install "chime", "lime" or "juice" roms on my phone without risks ?
Btw, I don't know a lot of things about customizing a phone with roms so ( if you know a great website to learn more about these things I would love to get its name/URL) and my native language is french so there might be dumb questions / english mistakes.

Thank you very much for the information but I found out that I have a M2010J19SY in the settings although you didn't mention that model in your message as it is lemon and not lime or citrus... But you wrote that the Redmi 9T was lime... I don't understand what's going on.

[SOLVED] NO NFC on Redmi K20 PRO

Hello XDA Developers,
Any help needed, pleeaase.!
Probably I'm doing something wrong, or there is serious problem with my phone - no NFC. Not sure if it is ROM related or related to the phone itself.
Any help, troubleshooting, workarounds, mods will be really appreciated.
FYI: I Did not change the ROM, was the original with the phone, see details bellow:
Phone Tester says following:
No NFC support
This is what Phone Tester says about the ROM:
Model: Redmi K20 PRO
Device: raphaelin
OS Release: 9 - Pie
OS Build: PKQ1.181121.001
Firmware: V10.3.1.0.PFKINXM
Bought on AlieExpress, Seller: mi global store
(don't mix up with another seller XIAOMI mi store)
Update:
At the end and thanks to XDA Developerz I changed the ROM with TWRP and xiaomi.eu version. It fixed the issue. Now I have good ROM with TWRP recovery!
I'm not sure what that company did but here's what shows up for me.

Hello, Did you get your phone with Developer ROM, or already preinstalled Global ROM?
and also what Phone Tester says which CPU you have?
My Phone Tester says I have Qualcomm Technologies Inc SM8150
Also if you go to Phone Settings -> About the phone I have this:
Model number Redmi K20 Pro
Model Name M1903F11A
Kernel version: 4.14.83-perf-gf578f07
What are yours?

raphaelin is the device name of the Indian version of the K20 Pro. This hasn't been released yet, so there shouldn't be any official ROM's with that device name. This suggests that it isn't an official ROM. Did you buy it with a pre-installed global ROM?

Yes, I did. However what I found from 954wrecker is that he is is using Firmware V10.3.11.0 mine is 10.3.1.0
not sure if this where the problem is. Is there any hardware bus scanner available as an apk?

I know nothing about hardware bus scanners, however it would be recommended to install another ROM from a legitimate source. Your phone will most likely be unlocked already. The xiaomi.eu developer ROM 9.6.27 has had a few people say that it's stable. I'm still waiting to be able to unlock the bootloader, so haven't tried it myself yet.
Thanks guys, you almost convince me that it is a ROM issue. My phone is unlocked, which is obviously very good news.
Now, the question where to get the FULL ROM, and not the updates. I'm on V10.3.1.0, some people have 10.3.11.0 here.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/redmi-k20-pro-firmware-10-3-8-0-9-6-13-t3939647
I'm guessing you want a global ROM, so it's the xiaomi.eu ROMs, these are listed under EU. Looking on the forums there seems to be an audio issue with the latest stable release.
Please flash xiaomi.eu firmware k20 pro supports NFC and it works well.
Sent from my Redmi K20 Pro using Tapatalk
Mine support it , yours too , just factory reset it
Thanks to everyone. At the end I flashed xiaomi.eu 10.3.12 and it fixed the issue.
I have the same issue.
Received my k20 pro yesterday and spent hours and hours to configure it properly (tons of apps and settings)
But no NFC...
Rom MIUI GLOBAL 10.3.1. 1
is there a way to update firmware without erasing everything??
Thank you

Good question! Not sure, better to ask not in this thread, but in separate thread will be much faster response. Are you planning to install TWRP? Because if you plan to do so, ask how you can try to do this with TWRP.
I can confirm that xiaomi.eu 10.3.12 fixed my issue with NFC and also I can tell that 10.3.9 chinese rom does not have issue with NFC either (why Chinese ROM you may ask? - because it is full image ROM, and initially I made mistake with TWRP did not decrypt the filesystem, I did not know the password at the that time which was my PIN, so I flashed it twice) Avoiding my mistake you can go directly to xiaomi.eu 10.3.12 with TWRP.
I have found that Redmi k20 pro has hardware related touch problems. Please check and confirm that.

Question custom ROM availability

Hi
I just purchased a mi 11 12/256 china version, bootloader unlocked, flashed with eu ROM 12.5.7 stable.
I am looking for any custom ROMs available but not finding anything. Specifically looking for a fully de-googled ROM. I have checked and /e/, calyx, graphene, Lineage, and many others and not found any compatible for this device. Anyone know of any? Possibly prereooted ROMs I can remove google myself?
I'm new to customizing phones so thanks
at moment we dont have proper custom rom . some of us use GSI until we have custom rom .
There is AOSP rom, android 12 beta from google... working nice
This phone is couple months old, still no custom ROM, weird.
The Redmi Note 10 Pro has tons of custom roms already.

Yes but the Note 10 Pro is much more affordable. So, more people have the device. Also developers need to be able to be able to buy the device themselves.
yeah i actually sold my oppo x2 pro and bought the Mi11 cause i assumed like the mi8, mi9 and mi10 that a lot of custom roms would be available.. we are not off to a good start!! at least it has root

Question Any developer working on a custom ROM for 10R? 😅

I know it's too soon to ask this question but still I wonder. Also, I know since this is a MediaTek device possibility of getting a stable custom ROM is next to impossible.
(For those who aren't aware, Nord 2 is also a MediaTek device and it has few very stable ROMs).
I hope we get some good developers who can develop atleast few AOSP custom ROM.
Cheers!!
Anyone?
Looks like the combination of <India Only + MediaTek + Overshadow by 10 Pro & 10T + Moving from OOS to ColorOS> killed this phone.

I can't really speak for the indian version, but I've bought Ace global version and it's OxygenOS + all 5G bands. However, in the About section of the phone it says OnePlus 10R 5G, even though everything else in the box refers to the phone as OnePlus Ace. A little confusing, but it's essentialy the same phone, just differents roms I guess?

I guess you have imported the phone. What the seller do is they flash OxygenOS (10R's firmware) on Chinese OnePlus Ace and sell.
Device is very disappointing one, it my first and last one plus device.
Following are under development for 10R, that I am aware of,
TWRP
LOS recovery/fastboot
LOS Custom ROM.
But don't ask for ETA, Devs are trying their best considering they have exams and they are not getting any help from other experienced(in MediaTek device) Devs.
OnePlus is technically dead. Oppo not releasing unbrick tool is one of the major contributor.

Question Redmi 9T Differences

Hello,
I have a Redmi 9T (lime) device. But unfortunately no ROM has been made for lime. What happens if I install ROMs for Juice or Chime?
For example, it is stated as lime in this, but when I want to download it, chime appears. Is it okay?
Project Elixir
projectelixiros.com
Up.
Up.
There is no major differences.
1. For Poco - 1 camera less, may lead to instability of stock camera, not more, gcam anyway.
2. For any - no nfc/nfc, no problem on hardware without nfc, but won't work at all on roms built without nfc support.
Ok so I hardened my heart and installed elixer on my Redmi 9T(Lime) and it went pretty bad (luckily my phone survived).
1. The unofficial recoveries are not stable enough and I had a lot of trouble due to encryption
2. After messing around I was able to install the rom (have to try 2-3 different recoveries)
3. After successful installation the phone was stuck in a bootloop
4. I gave up at that time and just flashed the stock rom
So conclusion is that there might not be major difference on the surface but I think at firmware level there are difference
Ok forget about my previous comment I was an idiot..
So the bootloop was because of encryption and today I was able to flash elixer on my redmi 9T (LIME)
So back to your question whats the difference and that is none, I will explain why:
1. The phones Poco M3, Redmi power, redmi 9t lime, lemon, 4G, etc are same and are given a unified code name Juice or Chime depending on the firmware vendor used by the developer of the custom rom.
2. Chime codename custom roms are using OSS vendor which is opensource and is supported for a longer period of time but is not stable yet
3. Juice codename custom roms are using MIUI Stoch vendor firmware which is obviously developed by xiaomi and is very stable
you can flash any chime or juice rom in your phone as long as you follow the developers guide properly because there are very high chances that you will run into encryption issues because recoveries dont support androind 11 or up decryption.

As long as you dont lock the bootloader you can recover from most of the situations, you can still install the rom, encryption issue occurs when you dont follow the rom maintainers instructions while installing the rom, flashing the stock firmware will reset the process and you have to start again from step 1
I have an ignorant question. Been thinking about this since yesterday.
I know the NFC equipped R9T are region dependant, but just recently Google Wallet is now available in my region and also supporting NFC contactless payments with select banks. The R9T in my region are being sold without NFC. A global variant Redmi 9T for Malaysian market.
My silly question is, is it possible for us to obtain the NFC hardware or get it from a donor R9T phone that has it, and then install it in the phone and make it working? Like plug and play?
I assume it's very, very impossible... But assuming it cannot, why tho? Is there a permanent restriction hard-coded into the phone due to region dependant?

Question Flash MIUI 14 EEA beta or stay on Xiaomi.eu ?

On one hand it looks like EEA has finally catched up with most of the missing features from Xiaomi.eu/China(see PS) and you're also getting Android 13, easy OTAs, ability to lock the bootloader and a whole bunch of optimization and new features from MIUI 14. And a bigger support community since it's the official ROM after all. And access to even more BETAs since Xiaomi.eu doesn't do betas on this device
On the other hand, all of this will come to xiaomi.eu when the stable's out anyway. And it will probably be even better than stock. And there still might be a few missing Chinese features that will never be added to EEA/Global.
It's really mixed for me tbh. What do you guys think ? What are you going to do ?
PS: I know there's no China ROM for 11T Pro, but Xiaomi.eu actually ports Chinese features even without the Chinese ROM.

Better time to stay on the Xiaomi EU rom and keep the advantages that do not exist on the stock (call recorder, Full themes, etc.).
On a stock beta version you can have bugs, sometimes not too serious or sometimes you will have to downgrade.
When it comes to stock ROM support, you will only get answers if you want to buy a new phone.
I had the 11 t pro but disappointed with the autonomy and I replaced it with a 12 pro which initially had less autonomy than the 11 t pro with A12 but A13 corrected this problem.

What if A13 fixes battery on 11T Pro as well.
AS for tech support, I guess the stock has a bigger community where I can find the issues easier. But the xiaomi.eu community is much nerdier, so it depends lol

My SOT is never the same, what I see is that since A13 I charge my phone less often and I've gone from 24 hours to 30/36 hours.
Many report the improvement in autonomy with A13.
"AS for tech support, I guess the stock has a bigger community where I can find the issues easier. But the xiaomi.eu community is much nerdier, so it depends lol"
On Xiaomi Eu rom you have to be precise and make a logcat for bugs.
Yes, but I'm getting older and contrary to most of this community, I don't like tinkering with my device that much anymore. I see that MIUI 14 introduces most of the features that I loved from xiaomi.eu and I'd love the comfort of OTAs, safety and no headaches due to having an unlocked bootloader and just generally, the ease of use of a stock device with no sort of tinkering whatsoever. And just easier back-ups. Also, I'd like having beta access to Xiaomi since xiaomi.eu has none for my device
Now, I'm wondering if flashing using the official xiaomi tool will just lock bootloader and fix/restore everything to stock.

Hi, I had quite a nooby question, I have an Indian variant of 11T Pro which is running on its latest Indian variant of MIUI, can I relock my bootloader during flashing of EEA variant of MIUI or will that brick my device? Not sure if this the correct thread, I'm sorry if it isn't, didn't know where to ask this question. Thanks

On this device (VILI) you can re-lock the bootloader with any stock fastboot rom with Miflash.
