AA Make Clock Larger like this example? - Android Auto General

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and am trying to figure out how to get a clock to display on my AA like in the example image.
The clock on my AA is very very tiny and in the upper left hand corner at all times.
I would really love to be able to display a clock and date like in the example image, but I can only get secondary apps like Spotify to display in the split screen.
I just can't find any info or figure out how to get a clock to display there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Best,
Jason

I guess the right part of the screen is from the car itself...
The UI of Android Auto on this picture does not look like Coolwalk. Therefore there is no split screen possible with Android Auto.

Background Image Help

Hi,
I'm trying to put a background image of a car on my today screen.
When i put it on its far to close (pic to big). With my old M3100 you could chose how much and where abouts of the jpeg you wanted as background is there anyway to do this on the kaiser?
I've tried changing the resoultion then it works in wide screen but tiles it in normal mode which looks naff.
Any help would be appricaited.
Thanks
Jason
Go to Start | Programs | Pictures & Videos - then find your image you want to use as the background; select Menu | Set as Today Background and you'll get a window showing what part of the image will be used on the today screen - use your stylus to drag the rectangle left or right to suit and then just OK your way back out.....
HTH,
Mark.
Thanks, but even if i do that it still tiles or i can only see a small amount of the car.
I have tried numorous resoultions on the jpeg then put it on my phone but still no joy.
rangeing from 200x200 to 1024x768
Any one had this issue before and solved it?
Strange....it seems to work for me as long as the image is not stupid-sized (like 1600x1200 off my digital camera ).....
The screen resolution is 240x320 so that should be fine as an image; you may want a 320x320 image so that it works for landscape too, although I think you have to keep the part of the image you want to the left of the 320 pixel width....
Of course, you could always use something like ThemGenCE to make yourself a theme with the picture(s) you want - that should work....your call

Does anyone have the straight poop on wallpaper for HC?

I am having trouble with using custom wallpaper and need some input from you fine people. I understand our tab has a resolution of 1024X600 so plain, dumb redneck logic tells me a wallpaper image of that size will fill the screen perfectly and completely. However, that is not the case apparently.
If I put a 1024X600 image on the tab and select it as wallpaper, I am presented with a photo-cropping interface that FORCES me to crop the picture. OK, no biggie, it is high-quality at 300dpi, so I do that and it includes the whole picture I want displayed.
The problem comes when you actually go back to the home screen, the picture has been blown up so damn large that it only shows a small piece of the image.
Does anybody have any real specs on what format the wallaper needs to be in?
I've searched forever regarding this as well...and can't find a straigt answer. What's strange to me is that if you click on a picture on the web, and select set as wallpaper, it will be formatted relatively accurately (there's a little cropping, but not much) if you save the same photo, and set it as wallpaper through the setup screen, it's all zoomed in and cropped horribly.
I've used an app called Wallaby to set wallpapers. you can tell it to NOT resize the image you select, and it works OK.
Basically, what I've found is that even though the resolution is 1024X640, you actually need an image that's more line 1024 wide by 1920...the reason for this is that when you are presented with the "crop" screen, you select a box, but it will only actually show the top 1/3rd of that box as your wallpaper. If you make the box smaller, it will select the top 1/3rd AND zoom in. the odd part for my is that the box is not axis specific...you are only able to crop vertically AND horizontally, not one or the other.
If you pull out a wallpaper image from a rom, you'll see that it's REALLY tall, and the bottom 2/3rds are pretty much blank...that's how it needs to be made in order to look right on the tablet.
so, if you can locate an image that's 1024X1920, it will not zoom in, but it will only show the top 1/3rd of the image on the screen as wallpaper...
Hit up the market for MultiPicture Live Wallpaper. Free app. Easiest way to get the most of your wallpapers back in landscape. Most of the current versions of android are based around Portrait orientation so it crops to fit across a few smaller windows.
For those with newer devices that are landscape oriented, we get screwed. lol But, gladly this app is free to get what you need done at the very least. Has some other interesting features too, need be, but a lot are paid features, I think.
Hope this helps.
Flick ur pics from the market does a really fine job also.

I actually have had multi-picture live since I first got the tab. It does something very strange with BoS. Multi-picture provides for screens 1-7 but the device shows screens 8-14 so it won't even configure correctly at all. I am sure it is the difference in res for screen.
Actually, I have been able to get both 1024X1024 and 1024X600 images to work with the regular wallpaper chooser. The problem comes after waking it up from sleep, the image is borked.
Tried Wallaby - absolutely worthless for me. Wallpaper Wizardrii is ok, but still difficult to work with.

[Q] Which launcher has this transition (if any)

I have recently installed a Parrot Asteroid Smart Android Headunit, running Android 2.3.7, and I would like to try and replicate an exiting launcher UI from the Volvo Sensus connected touch.
The sensus UI is essentially one large icon per screen (large and easy to touch when moving) each screen transitions continuously, with each screen having a subtle zoom effect zooming in as its selected and zooming out as it is swiped off screen. The closest I've seen is a cylinder transition, but it was the wrong way around, and as I recall it was on the app drawer rather than home screens.
But the thing I'm trying to replicate that I haven't seen any launcher do (they most probably don't see a use case for it) is that the previous and next screens are about 75% in view when on a particular screen, so you can see the what apps/screens are would come next if swiping right or left.
I have been using sslauncher so far, and have got a similar effect, but not quite right as the launcher can't replcate having the previous and next screens partly in view.
Heres a youtube link, skip to 1 minute in to see what I'm going for

There are some other touches I'd like, the particle emitter effect when a shortcut is pressed is quite nice, but they are nice to haves.
Any ideas?

Desk Clock

I have upgraded to 4.3 and now the Desk Clock is a mess. I have the digital version showing on the home page, when I open it, all the clocks then, (timer etc) are analogue, cannot find a way to change to digital, but my main problem is the Desk Clock mode.
When in operation it will go to a blank screen when sleep mode is activated and I can find no way of overiding it. Also the figures are now of a boulder construction meaning more light emitted, not good as a night clock.
The previous version would stay on all night, with the time moving around (screensaver) and also was a lot less bright, especially if a soft swipe was used to dim it.
Am I missing something here or as this App taken a massive backward step ??

S10 Clock Screensaver

Hi,
I currently have a Pixel but am considering getting an S10. One of the features I love on the Pixel is the clock app’s screensaver-it means I can prop my phone up by the side of my bed and have a dim display showing just the clock. Does the S10 have anything similar please? Thanks!
I have an non-rooted S10e (SM-G970U). The screensaver settings unfortunately do not offer a clock option - only photos or colors. It's too bad Samsung doesn't have this option. I used it as you described on other phones and loved it. Now I use AOD as a substitute but , of course, it's "Always On" - not just at night when charging.
You setup the always on display to only trigger at night, it'll do the job pretty well if you're looking for a nightstand option. The always on display comes with various clock faces so I'm sure it won't be very difficult to find the right fit. If you can't from the stock ones you could always download good lock for extra clockfaces
Or you could just download any clock style screensaver which will do exactly what you're looking for. Display a clock when the phone is on charge and you let the screen go off on it's own. It's been in Android phones for years. S10 comes with a few built in screensavers.
AOD is the best option though. Minimal battery use.
