Hi after i flash my Mi A2 with the latest offical Rom from Carbon i lost my vibration on the phone. In recovery mode on the TWRP there is also no vibration, i tried to turn it on many times in the settings on the system and on twrp but nothing worked.
I think the vibration engine is broken because i changed the battery before i flashed the phone, but i don't know.
Is there someone out there how had the same experience with the vibrations and the carbon rom?
Except from the vibration everything works fine on the phone.
You may have disconnected/damaged the connection to the vibrator while replacing the battery.

Hi guys have my note running romow's 4.1 and I get vibration in every other aspect of the phone other than email and sms alerts. I've tried using gosms and that doesn't work. Anyone one else have a galaxy note on a custom rom who is able to have vibration when you receive sms/emails?
Did you flash a custom ROM?
I lost vibration as well back when I was using Cassie's XtraLiteRom.
What I did was re-install the ROM, do a factory reset via CWM, then reboot the phone normally.
The vibration should be back.
Then go back to CWM, and flash the custom ROM again.
Voila! Vibration works again.
Fixed it
It was a setting a volume boosting app I installed altered on my phone. I found another app called audio manager and was able to re-enable the setting to vibrate on alerts and it now works. Stupid me.
Ok ive been trying to root this phone so that I can change the in call speaker volume which is unusable.
I have no problems with recovery but when i flash supersu in twrp it installs ok but it when it reboots it stays on the logo screen. I have tried different supersu for the mi5, including latest, always the same. I am obviously missing something.
MIUI 8 Global 7.5.19
Kernel 3.18.31
Ideas, thx?

If i remember correctly, you can activate the Developers options by clicking 8 times on the MIUI Build version line in the Phone Settings/information page.
After that you can (if memory serves correctly) activate SU in the developer options.
Even with the global version you have.
Hey All
I would really need your help. I got a rooted Lineages OS 17.1 Xiaomi global Mi A2 which was working wonderfully for almost 2years now
Suddently the screen stopped working. LED backlight works fine but no image.
There was no damage to the screen. No software mods at that time. So most likeyl a hardware failure.
The phone still seems to work, because the long press Power button, starts up the flashlight and if i touch fingerprint scanner if get a vibration.
There is no way to unlock the phone or trust the PC for USB debugging since screen is dead
Now the phone is still in warranty till mid Febuary,
I tried to restore the phone using MiFlashTool, because i would like to remove my data and restore android one if possible.
I tried using Miflash 20181115 with a fastboot image (jasmine_global_images_V11.0.19.0.QDIMIXM_10.0) but i stays at the first line of the flash_all_lock script and does nothing.
Also tried XiaoMiTool V2 but it could not find my phone in Fastboot.
Does anybody have an idea or hint, how i can proceed?
Thanks DU3
The problem: If I keep the phone idle it becomes hot and loses 1% of battery every minute. If i put it in airplane mode, its power consumption is normal.
What I did to cause this: I had a problem with android auto where apps weren't opening so I thought, "let's try AOSP roms". For some reason any other custom rom except xiaomi.eu was bootlooping so I tried some A1 rom using the a1to5x twrp script. The instructions said that I needed to flash the A1 modem, so I did it. But all the A1 roms were bootlooping too, so I just gave up, cleaned the phone with miflash, restored the original china rom, then reinstalled latest xiaomi.eu stable. Now it's where I noticed this problem.
More details:
IMEI and IMSI are valid
insane power consumption is also without a sim car inserted
I backed up efs, modem and persist with TWRP before playing with A1 roms, but even if I restored the TWRP backup, the problem isn't solved.
The LCD panel was smashed so I replaced with a $10 fake one. No problems with original rom or xiaomi.eu stable but maybe that's the cause of the bootloop with other roms. The quality of this panel is awful, panel sensitivity is lower and backlight is less powerful, barely readable by night . Also there are light bleeds.
Any suggestion on what to do?
I've run into a couple of problems with Lineage and TWRP. Followed the instructions for Lineage installation and it worked, except that vibration stopped working. I had also flashed Magisk. No typing feedback, no vibration for incoming calls, etc. Tried putting stock back on. Still no vibration. Tried flashing TWRP again, but now I can't boot to recovery. Is it an issue with Magisk? I tried uninstalling according to Magisk's instructions, but no luck.
So the problems are no vibrations anymore and not able to to boot to recovery. Just goes back to bootloader.
Okay, got it back to stock using fastboot commands, but vibration is still broken. Any way to fix it?
