Question How to clear "other" in storage? - OnePlus 10 Pro

Model NE 2215
Under storage there is a category called "other" which is taking up 10.2GB of space. Could you tell me what this category would be and how to clean it?

Other is files that don't fit into other categories listed...
Also can be ram expansion go to settings then about device and touch ram to see if you have storage converted to ram enabled.

Diamond Main Storage memory very low

Hi all, I understand the main storage is 50MB and depending on the ROM this gets eaten up fast. Right now mine is at 1MB free. I text a lot and I figured it is the text message DB that is eating up the space.
Is there a way to move that DB to the internal storage instead?
Edit: This app helped find space consumers at ppcgeeks: MobileMonger

If you are desperate to keep your old messages, use one of the backup programs located on this forum and delete your old ones from the device.
Besides that, I suggest cleaning up the storage space by deleting unnecessary pictures, such as the ones that come on the phone or moving your media to the internal storage.

Storage Memory problem... need help.

I keep getting the "Storage Memory" message on my screen and don't know where/how to free it up. Can anyone tell how to do this?
Thanks.
TW,
No one has any idea how to fix this?
if you have a full storage card start removing some stuff that you have through activesync or removing programs that you have.
So, is this application space on the phone itself? are there temporary files that could be dumped, etc.?
Thanks,

I have no idea what you are talking about dude, what I meant is that you can manually remove files that maybe are on your sd card through activesync (exploring files in your card) and have some space available but if you want to clean temporary files. You can use Cleartemp
I hope that helps,
I have a 4 gig SD card in the phone, its not even close to full.
If you look at the picture I posted its referencing 128 meg so its storage somewhere else, where is it and why is it getting full?
Thanks,

Hi Tiger Woods...busy with you phone and not with golf (we hope to see you back soon)
The message you are getting is related to your main storage (phone) and it's has nothing to do with your sdcard.
I assume you have a 6.5 rom from what I see in your pictures. This cooked roms (not light versions) will get more storage since chefs include apps in their images and adding to that; if you install additional programs in your main storage (not on sd card) you'll get the message.
Use the app that I just sent you (if not already in your rom) and start to free some memory and also I will recommend you to start removing programs from main storage and installing them in your sdcard so you can free some memory from your phone.
I hope that helps,

Are apps and OS installed on the 32/64GB storage drives?

I currently have the HTC Sensation 4G (TMOUS). It has 1GB of internal storage that was just for Apps and the OS, IE it was not user accessible (unless you had root). Then you had your MicroSD for the usual user and app data storage stuff.
From what I have read there are not two internal storage drives on the One, so I was wondering if the 32/64GB drives are partitioned?
The reason why I'm asking it that I am trying to talk myself into the 32GB model, but if there is 26GB of available space on the 32GB and 1-1.5GB of that will be apps and OS then effective the available space is reduced to ~24GB.

Not quite sure what you are getting at but the 32gb model is of course 32gb. The quoted accessible space is what is remaining to the user after the operating system and included apps are installed and can be used for whatever you wish (app. data, media etc.). This will not be reduced by the operating system as it is in a separate part (partition?) of the storage.

Perfect, thanks.
Do you know the size of the app/OS partition?

That's simply not the case here. The 32gb partition is used by os and apps. Actually, the available space right after unboxing is approx 25gb

Lack of Storage Space - should I switch ROM?

My Note is still going strong, but I have a permanent notification about lack of storage space, and the phone runs slowly.
The version of Android is 4.1.2 - would switching to KitKat reduce the amount of space required? I heard they tried to make it compatible with cheaper phones with less built-in storage space?.
I don't have many non-essential apps installed by now, and I have them on the SD card where possible. It seems that the Google Apps are now so big that they are taking up all the space.
My phone is rooted - if I switch to KitKat I guess I should be able to add the option to install to SD back in.
If KitKat is a good idea, and I want to keep S-Pen functions, which would be a fast rom to use?

Total space 1.97GB
Available 125MB
USB Storage Total space 11.07GB
Available 1.99GB
SD Card Total space 3.97GB
Available 1.54GB
Switching ROM won't change it. But you can repartition to increase the internal storage size. You'll have to backup everything though because it will all be deleted.

4GB Thumbnail Data from Camera?

Hey Guys,
While ding my backup to prepare for root and the Lollipop upgrade I noticed that my DCIM folder has more than 4GB of Thumbnail Data
I've got about 5500 Pictures so far on my phone but that's a big amount of data. Is your thumbnail folder just as big or do i have some sort of abnormality going on?
Attached is a Screenshot

Yep
8G.B
Yes, also here about 4 + 4 GB.
But actually, the thumbnails don't really occupy 8 GB on the internal memory, because it simply wouldn't fit (along with apps and other data) and when I delete them, just less than 1 MB of internal memory is actually freed.
Maybe one of our experts can give us an explanation for this?
Hi,
any expert's feedback on this? I also have cleanup tools stating that thumbnails occupy huge space... thanks
