Try again this procedure step by step
flashing instructions
Flash ofox 12.1_3
Format data with yes
Reboot ofox
Flash fw (right for sweet or sweetin, otherwise hard brick)
Flash ROM
Delete dalvik and caches with ofox
Format data with yes again
Reboot system
Flashing Magisk not until first boot and setup otherwise sometimes problems...

i was using xiaomi installer windows app in fastboot mode -- clean flash
won't it automatically remove the cache and data without using ofox recovery?

Unable to boot AOSP properly coming from xiaomi.eu rom

Hi guys, anyone experienced this problem where after coming from xiaomi.eu rom (9.3.28), there is a bootloop in the setup screen? I tried flashing the firmware+vendor for a lower version but still the same. Thanks!
What rom are you trying to flash, and are you flashing the proper firmware + vendor?

I'm trying to flash Havoc and using the 9.3.14 firmware in the post. Tried the others as well like pixelexperience and aosip but same thing.
Did you wipe everything? Try to:
1. Flash MIUI PIE 9.3.14 XIAOMI.EU DON'T REBOOT
2. Flash Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt DON'T REBOOT
3. Wipe Data,System,Cache Your Data will be lost
4. Flash HavocRom + Gapps
5. Reboot and Enjoy

TWRP Decryption?

Hi Guys,
May I know what are the steps to flash the rom and also magisk properly? Cuz I have a brand new mi 9 now...
1. unlocked bootloader
2. flash twrp (is the one below recommended?)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/development/recovery-twrp-3-3-1-siankatabg-t3934962
3. I am actually confused about the decryption thing, do I still need to wipe data first?
4. wipe system, wipe data (?), flash eu or ROS rom, flash gapps, flash magisk, reboot?
Thank you guys for helping me
You could easily test it. If you are on stock rom and flashed twrp you should see all your data. If you can, you don't need to format data.

Are you booting into MIUI at least once after flashing it, before flashing anything else?
I've stopped doing the mount/unmount. I now always reboot back into TWRP after formatting data, seems more reliable.
In TWRP do a factory reset, then format data, then reboot back into TWRP.
After this install the ROM you want

If you want to flash something else, remove lockscreen security first before flashing. This should allow you to dirty flash an update, or clean flash a new ROM, without problems. You only need to format data when flashing over MIUI.
If you get into problems and you cannot successfully get a custom ROM working, this is when you need to flash MIUI first.
You only need to flash vendor/firmware files when the custom ROM recommends/requires a version that is different to what you currently have.

The emoji's screwed up my reply. Try again.
1. Next time create a new post, don't resurrect a vaguely similar old post.
2. Restore MIUI with a fastboot ROM and try again. Use my guide here to help you install the ROM of choice.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/simple-guide-flipkart-owners-t4151007/post83329343
If you're not sure what you're doing, follow the guide exactly, do not freestyle.
1.Install any rom
2. In recovery factory reset or change data partition to ext2 and then again back to ext4
Reboot
It will boot.

When flashing you will actually need vendor and firmware files together.
These are taken from the official MIUI fastboot ROMs. You can find them repackaged in a single flashable zip file from here.
https://downloads.akhilnarang.dev/MIUI/raphael/
Flashing one of these files in TWRP is the easiest way to go.
You can also find then repackaged as separate zip files from here
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/
This site has a much greater archive, so is good if you need an older version that you can't find in the other site. You will need to make sure you download vendor and firmware files for the same version.
You should always stick to the version that is for the region of your phone. e.g. Indian vendor and firmware for an Indian K20 Pro, etc.
Some ROMs use an OSS vendor and so this is included as part of the ROM install. In which case there is no need to flash the MIUI vendor.
When a new version of MIUI is released, vendor and firmware files might get updated, to fix a bug or to add extra functionality. In this case some custom ROM devs will include them so that they get the bug fixes or extra functionality in their ROM too. When this happens they will update the minimum vendor and firmware version requirements for their custom ROM - the version will be the actual MIUI version in which the vendor and firmware files were updated.
Where a ROM doesn't specify vendor and firmware and doesn't have an OSS vendor, then it normally implies that any version will work that is from MIUI based on the same Android version. In this case use the most recent version, which you will already have if you've kept up to date with MIUI updates.
When installing a new ROM, you will only need to flash vendor and firmware files if your current version is less than the required version of the new ROM.

Question How to flash a Android 12 ROM without decryption problem?

I've been struggling to flash Android 12 without my internal storage to be unaccessible by TWRP... I simply can't decrypt my data and the only way to fix it is to format data and revert back to a Android 11 ROM.
Did anyone manage to flash Android 12 successfully? How?
Well I gotta tell you sadly, decryption does not work for any Android 12 system currently. So you gotta have to live with it, until we get decryption support.
And don't try to fiddle with disabling encryption, I did it and I quickly regretted it.
Also, you always have to format data after flashing a ROM to remove encryption, except if you update your current ROM.
ADB Sideload is the answer.
If you have TWRP installed already then as you know when you go into recovery you cant see any data. User ADB Sideload instead and it will flash it the same way

ADB sideload isn't the answer, because that's already what I use to flash a Android 12 based ROM. Doesn't change that TWRP can't decrypt data

That is because their no recovery that will decrypt A12, just not possible yet. Sideload is the way for now, it works fine. Decryption isn't available yet and hopefully someone cracks it soon
Not towards achieving decryption, however after flashing A12 ROM, and clicking on format data, I get numerous errors with TWRP. Any solution? Is it related to recovery or some issue with data partition? Thanks!
Many people have issues with TWRP. Flash Orangefox recovery in TWRP, boot into it and try.

I did it just by flashing Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip after flashing the rom.

No, if you're decrypted with DFE once and formated with yes, you can flash new ROM and DFE without formating. Means dirty install without loosing internal data. Or you make clean by only wiping data and in this case also your internal SD stay as before without loosing your personal files.
