I am using Redmi 9 Prime. Recently I am having a problem. Downloads in telegram and particularly mobile hotspot is having very less speed.
The SIM card when put in other phones is working absolutely fine. So there can't be any problem with my SIM card. I put the SIM in other slot too but it didn't work. Now when I reset Wifi, bluetooth and mobile hotspot in settings, the download speed is increasing but after some time again it's becoming slow.
My questions are..
1. Are cellular data (mobile internet) and mobile hostspot functions on the same chip or separate chips?
2. Is there any solution to this problem? Please suggest.

Ok Hopefully someone can sort this out, its a strange one.
My P9 Vodabone store bought and unlocked via dc unlocker and used perfectly with EE for 12 months.
I Moved to Three to get unlimited data & the 30gb hotspot.
Here I encountered the problem, when I turn on the wifi hotspot my mobile internet completely dies.
People can successfully connect to the hotspot but they don't have access to the internet. The phones mobile data connection doesn't exist
while the hotspot is on, (I can't browse or anything)
From 4g to nothing as soon as hotspot is selected.
I have tried a new sim from three and the same thing happens.
I have used my sim in a different phone and it works perfect.
If i try another EE sim it works, just Three and this phone and only with wifi hotspot, (bluetooth tethering works)
Has anyone seen this b4? Any idea's?
Brand new nokia 8 TA-1004 unlocked
I have 3 uk sim card (had for years).
Wifi teathering is active but other device (laptop tablet phone) which ever device it is can connect fine but has no internet connection.
The nokia has fine 4g signal and the correct APN settings. The sim works fine for teathering on iphone and other android devices (30gb included)
Any ideas? Have reset phone few times and still same

Very strange. It works perfectly on my TA-1004 with at least three different simcards and a bunch different devices.
Even got the tasker WiFi theather plugin to work if my phone is near a predefined Bluetooth device.

I can confirm this as well.
All good with tethering. I'm using it every day without any issues.
Surprisingly, tethering doesn't affect battery life so much as in my previous devices.
Very very strange, for some reason its working. Must of been a network or apn issue
Dear friends, i am facing a weird issue with my Note 9. I get very good network speeds on my handset. Earlier i was using Note 8 and i got same speeds with Wifi and USB tethering to my PC/Laptop in India on both Jio and Airtel network. But with Note 9, I get very good consistent tethering speed with USB but very intermittent slow speeds with WIFI tethering on both Airtel and Jio networks. Is anybody else also facing same issue?
Are you using these all at the same time or testing? Also, since you just received your note9 have you update your router to the same setting and priorities as note8?
Could be router running out of bandwidth or traffic management or prioritization or tethering could be provisioned for restrictions for note9 specifically.

Go to developer mode and check tethering acceleration is on.

It is in ON state. I will try with off state tomorrow. Let me know how much speed u were gerring with wifi tethering.

I have tried by both checking and then unchecking acceleration. Can you check on ylur set and share result?
Hi All, I have an Exynos Note 8 SM-N950F. I have finally updated the software to android 9.0, and now whenever I turn on the hotspot, it disables WiFi.
Can anyone point me to a rom or fix to enable both WiFi and hotspot, so I can share my WiFi connection with the hotspot? If not, I assume I have to install the stock 8.0 rom for the SM-N950F?
I'm not sure that's possible. By enabling hotspot, your phone becomes the local wifi for the devices you want to share it with using your data. If you are receiving wifi from somewhere, why cant the other devices you want to use just use that wifi as well? If wifi is available to your phone, I'm not understanding why you have to activate hotspot to provide wifi to other devices when they could just obtain wifi from the same place your phone is getting it from already.

Thank you for the reply! I didn't believe so as well, but at least the Exynos Note 8 had this ability. I could hypothetically be on a plane, join the paid WiFi, and share the connection to my laptop. I used it to join a VPN on my phone, and share with my laptop. I also used it as a network extender while traveling; I'd place my phone in the area that got the best WiFi signal, and use it as a repeater for my laptop. IDK if this is a general android 9.0 disabling, or specific to Samsung, but I need this feature on my phone. The note 8 was close to perfect, except for these software limitations, including the slow charging bug. I specifically imported the Exynos version when I bought it so I could roll back the software if I had to.

Hi, I have an S21 Ultra 5G, (SM-G998B)and I have problem about 1 month ago. When I am connected to a wifi network, icons 4g is turn on and mobile data stop work. Only way to turn on mobile data is restart phone. What is the problem? I try everething and hard reset but problem not solved. This happens almost every day once or twice
Not sure I understand....the phone will NOT use mobile data when on Wi-Fi. You can force it by going in developer mode and boost speed by using both, that is not the default though. ("Mobile data always active")
"Mobile data always active" is turn off but 4g icons is active in same time as wifi network. After that I turn off wifi and mobile data not work but 4g icons still turn on.
I found out what the problem. Every time after sharing the mobile network via hotspot, when I go to Sim manager and turn off Sim 2, both icons appear and the mobile internet stops working.
1. Turn on sharing mobile data (from sim 1) via hotspot. (sim1 and sim 2 active)
2. Turn off sharing data via hotspot
3. Connect to any wifi (after connect to wifi, only wifi icons appear)
4. Go to sim manager and turn off sim2.
5. After that, both icons (wifi and mobile data) appear and mobile internet stops working.
Does this happen to others?
